Jamaican culture large and broad. I know Japan ppl love our music but to see a Jamaican festival being held far away in Japan is massive as well. We are a vibrant set of ppl. Love the Vybz
This is so beautiful to see how other people embrace our Ghetto culture 🇯🇲 when I say it’s not uptown people or our government that other people/countries gravitate towards and want to know more about its the Ghetto people of Jamaica with reggae dance hall our fashion hair style ect. Some Jamaicans get upset with me 😊but it’s the truth. Years ago when I first came to America as a young teenager all people here talked about was Bob Marley. Then years later it was Shaba Ranks. All the clothing stores in New York would play only dance Hall music the ghetto girls them started coming more to America dressing in next to nothing going to clubs winding up then all other people started doing the thing and all of a sudden everybody wanted to be Jamaican and curious and Jamaica.
I'm not happy with the use of "ghetto culture". That's a derogatory term. The girl in the background is way, way over the top and noisy - extra we call them. Every country has its sub-culture (whether its youth, dance, drugs, food), and even more so we've seen the breaking down of the stiff mode of behaviour by the younger people in society, Japan being one especially.
The Jamaican colors outfit from the last female group was hot. The dancers all did dance moves that are all dancehall song moves as well as dance to the exact songs. Didn't know Japanese ladies can wine lk they did
I saw a Jamaican Dance Hall Clash with a Japanese Lady playing some wicked Dubplates.. Their's is the only Asian Culture I like, especially the Anime and the Language is cool..
Culturally, perhaps both Japanese and the Jamaican expats. Financially, maybe the small businesses that were present there. It's really just a celebration of the Jamaican culture.
