I tried this recipe, first time ever frying dumplings and it came out perfectly, crispy outside and delicious inside and it wasn't too sweet either, the only thing I changed was using water instead of milk cause I didn't have any, but it came out wonderful. My mom loved my dumplings. Thanks Sweetheart for the recipe, now I'm going to make this for my husband!
I’ve been searching for a good fried dumpling recipe. I just tried your recipe and they came out so perfect, soft, fluffy and delicious. Thank you for sharing.
The best dumpling I ever made! Outside crispy, inside fluffy and so light - I ate 5 in one go🙈 with oxtail and rice, it’s so good. Yielded around 15 dumplings, made them slightly smaller, put in the fridge overnight, fried the next day at room temperature. Oil needs to be on low, pinched middle of dough before frying - worked nicely for me. I am on a mission to learn all my favourite Caribbean take outs, dumpling ticked off my list finally after so many failed attempts using other recipes on YT. Thank you so much, I’ll be trying other recipes from your channel soon.
I followed this simple recipe and my dumplings came out fatastic! They were light, flaky and delicious. I'm so glad that I came across your channel. New sub!
Whenever I cook something I just like to check a recipe for a quick reminder. Came across yours but messed up with adding the milk. I'll let you know if came out alright 😂
I added the milk like she, little by little. I used like a tablespoon or two and worked it in the dough, bit by bit, kneading, folding and rolling, and found that I didn't need to use the whole cup of milk. I got my measuring cups from Dollar tree, so maybe it's a bit bigger than other brands. I don't know. I messed up on the grease. I didn't expect for them to brown so fast with the oil on #5/6 on an electric stove. I figured I needed the grease to be hot and popping like they do on the cooking shows, but I don't have a thermometer 🌡️ either so- live and learn. 😅It didn't need to be that darn 🔥 🥵. The first batch was dark brown, but super soft and sweet on the inside. I turned the heat down, to about 2/3, let it cool a bit, then dropped the second batch in. Slowly cooked for a few minutes, and It came out golden brown. 😋 Absolutely delicious! This is about to be a staple for me now.
The dumplings look really nice. I like how you split them open at the end to show how they should look inside. Excellent cook you can see you know your craft! Thanks for sharing. 😊🇯🇲🇬🇧🕊
I know right. This is the third time I've made dumplings, but the first time I made fried dumplings. I used three different recipes and hers was the absolute best!!!
Thanks for the video I tried to cook today after coming back from Jamaica had the bug to do some more cooking it turned into a disaster I cant see were I am going wrong mine went all soggy and funny shaped I think I used to much milk maybe or the wrong butter but not sure
Just some feedback as you have UK subscribers and we don’t use cups as measurements. We use a different metric system of kilograms and litres, so may want to convert or add into the videos or put European measurement in description. You make some fantastic food though ❤
Lady Rachel I love you , you teach me how to make pudding and girl the pudding tun up. But so much sugar inna dumpling i will never condone. Half table spoon the most cause I dont like the sweet taste in dumplings
I'm disappointed lol I knew the results before I made it but I wanted to see if it would've been any different, it came out like just fry bake but in ball form 😂, i did it step by step correctly followed other videos too,but i thought Jamaica has fry bake? So thought they would know the difference, but I'll make it again but I'll boil it first then let it sit then I'll fry to see if there's a difference
She clearly started that you could “add 1 cup and kneed until it became soft “ which means , you have 1 cup and you slowly add it until it feels like the appropriate texture
U mention nothing about the intensity of the fire smh. U made this video for people who don’t know how to fry dumplings so u should explain better. I know some people will have raw inside dumplings after watching this
