This woman have more courage and will power and balls more than alot of these individuals who call themselves men in todays world. Respect for highlighting her and much respect to Jessie herself, need more women like you.
Jesse I told you to mix the pesticides together in a container then use two soft drink cover in the sprayer and spray the cabbage,it is a blast.please try this
What a smart, beautiful, innovative, hardworking person she is! What an inspiration to the nation as a whole. It feels incredible to know we still have conscious ambitious young people like farmer Jessie among us. What an incredible story of hope, hard work and determination. Loving every second of this story..
I love this work that sis is doing! Tell her that she can let some of her cabbage go to seed and then she can plant those seeds and not really need to buy more as that process continues. The seeds that she grows from her plants will be better adapted to her farm's climate and will do better and be more hardy to weather stresses.
Greetings from a Jer-Mercian in New York. I let the plants teach me too. It’s helped me grow food in a studio apartment. Some of the people in my family says it can’t be done even though this is going to be the 5th year. However I have inspired 3 groups of family members to start gardening. Starting a community garden is the next step. I have way more seeds then space to plant them. It’s taught me that a lot of stuff I’m told can’t be done isn’t true. And that even when some people see that it CAN be done they still don’t believe. Sometimes they even seem resentful. 🤨 Meanwhile the food I grow gives me more energy than vitamins. Plus it’s fun experimenting with things like compost tea to make my Swiss chard and lettuce taste better, growing cherry tomatoes upside down without a trellis in a soda bottle by the window, etc. I could go on forever but I don’t want to brag. 😂 A few of the benefits of growing indoors is, I can grow year round and garden in the middle of the night if I want. Plus being the tomato lady and eating varieties I can’t find in the store makes me feel RICH. I don’t know how it is in Jamaica but in America our store bought tomatoes taste like disappointment. 😝 Sorry about the long comment. I don’t know many gardeners in New York I can talk about gardening frugally with. Most of the people I know who garden the way we do are online. Good luck with your farm. ❤
This video is interesting and informative. Blessings to this ambitious, hardworking young lady. She is determined to succeed in life, and is an example to other young people. May everything you touch be prosperous. Abundant blessings to you and family.
Thank you Dwight, for this inspiring video!! Lawd, we love it! 🙌🏽 Blessings to you and Jessie as well. Please let her know that planting any kind of beans (pigeon peas or any kind of peas/beans) between the cabbages is VERY good for strengthening the crop, because it feeds nitrogen into the soil (like natural fertilizer). Interplanting with garlic or onions helps keep away cabbage moths. Also, potatoes attract the pests (beetles and slugs) AWAY FROM the cabbage. Marigolds also help as they deter pests like aphids and whiteflies, and they secrete a chemical that helps to keep root nematodes from eating the crop. If Jessie wants to learn more, just research "companion planting with cabbage" or "permaculture." Bless up! --from Jamaicans in the Carolinas, cheering on your good work! 🇯🇲

I am so always proud of you Ms. Farmer Jesse. Have watched your videos in a while. What a POSITIVE role model you have become and at such an early age. Congratulations on your achievement. May the LORD continue to bless you continually ❤❤. Thanks for sharing this. ❤
I love Jessie's story, so so much. It is not easy being a single mother and a farmer, while in school. My dad was a farmer and taught agricultural science, and I grew up on a farm. Even in school, I used to get teased and called "country girl". I ended up becoming a lawyer but in my spirit, I've always been a farmer, so I bought land and started my farm two years ago. I'm also working on a Master's degree right now in organic farming. Being a lawyer still pays the bills, but it is my intention to make my farm sustainable because I love this work so much. It's who I am. I had to laugh at Jessie talking about the water boots because I had a friend come visit one time and we went into town while I was wearing my full farmer gear...water boots, hat, everything. We definitely need more women in farming and I would highly recommend entering the field to any woman who is interested.👩🏾🌾

Congratulations Farmer Jessie, I am so proud of you having such lovely acreage. What beautiful cabbages, reminds me of childhood being the daughter of a farmer. God bless, continue on your journey of setting example for your peers.

You reminded me of my daughter , she's not a big farmer like you , but she plants a little of everything in the back yard , and takes care of them, there's time when she gets some help , but for the most part, she takes care of the whole yard , pulling up weeds ,but if you don't know her you couldn't tell , she's all that , some people even wonder why she live so far away in the country .Totally forget to say she raised 3 lovely girls who did well in school on to college , so I'd say to anyone just do you , while you give thanks always to the most high Jehovah God 😊
Very proud of this sister Jessie all the best in her future ventures . May the most high God continue to bless her and her family stay strong my sister.
