Mashburn...I love to see how he evolved. He dropped 50 on Pippen. At the time when dropping 50 meant something..

Absolute facts, he’d DESTROY live game coverage - but I bet his enterprising probably won’t allow the time demands.

He's too measured. Too smart. He needs to be more like Gilbert Arenas if he wants a career in media

Mashburn 93-96 was a top young player in the NBA, his Rookie cards worth the same as Webber's and slightly less than Hardaway's at the time.

Monster Mash lookin’ like he’s 32 while poor Larry looks like he’s 80, no offense Mr Bird😅 Great interview tho, I could listen to Mash tell stories all day. One thing tho, I’ve watched that Dream Team doc a few times and Coach K saying Chuck Daly “threw the game” wasn’t bc he told the players not to try or anything like that bc that was the entire point, to give those guys a reality check that they COULD get beat. The feeling I got was that the game was a combination things, none were really to discredit the Select Team. (Although Coach K does say, “yeah and there’s kid who believe in Santa Claus and the tootfairy” haha) but from the interviews in the doc, the players themselves said they were still trying to figure out how to play as a cohesive team, meanwhile the Select Team was giving them a beat down. Larry Bird said, “Chris Weber was a MAN, if he’s comin’ into this league I gotta outta here.”😅. And they said Bobby Hurley exposed their weakness against quick guards which had the potential to hurt them. Again, Coach K wasn’t saying they “intentionally” lost, in fact, not even the assistant coaches knew what Chuck was up to. What he meant was that Chuck basically did everything HE could do to put the Dream Team at a disadvantage, and Coach K eventually figured it out bc #1 Chuck was making absolutely no adjustments and #2 there was one guy who spent most of that scrimmage on the bench (we can deduce who that would’ve been.) The feeling I got was those guys on the Select Team did exactly their job. They were chosen as the best amateurs in the world to prepare that ‘92 Olympic team and they proved they were the best amateurs by not only being the only team to beat the Dream Team, but the only team that even gave them a game. And I honestly don’t think the Dream Team dominates the Olympics as effortlessly as they did without the Select Team giving them a dose of adversity and taste of defeat early on.

I didn’t realize he was as old as he is, I never realized he came in the league before ‘96, I always thought he was part of Kentucky’s ‘96 title team.

Broken back, after surgery on both heels, being mid 30’s, couldn’t even practice, so on.. still averaged around 20/9/7/1.5/1 on roughly 46/40/91 shooting splits, for his last two NBA seasons !!

unfortunately he played in a weaker era with all the expansion teams that watered down the talent level of the league, him and grant hill in that era with pippen are the few that can play in todays era, can create there own shot in the perimeter with the dribbling skills at the forward position which isn’t that much back then
