This was the first RdC video I watched. But since that I guess I listened to everything I could find. But must get back to this, the joy on their faces, Toni's guitar playing and singing, the easiness, the beauty of their youth - I just have to watch it again and again, and wishing them all the best from the depth of my heart. Go girls, go! Love you!
LOL! I was watching this and thinking "I wonder how they knew a train wasn't going to come!" And then there's the out-take at the end that shows they had a get-away plan if a train came! I really like their style. They stick to the original beats of the songs they cover. They don't come across as "We're the great Reina and Toni!" They come across as if they're saying "We love to sing. Would you like to hear us?" The fun they have while singing is infectious!
@@mannyglez4936 I didn't say it shouldn't. But is is old and people tend to forget. When was the last time you heard anyone sing Goodnight, Irene? It was covered by so man in the 40s and 50s and hardly heard today.
One of my favorite songs. I always listen to any new version I come across…..but this, this is what I’ve been looking for all these years! Pure, simple and perfect! Thank you….
I just adore the two of you. I love that you are just who you are. You always make this 62 year old man smile. I’m glad to have found you in this big ole universe. It would be my pleasure if I were to ever meet you. ❤
My mother used to sing this to me when I was a little boy. I haven’t heard this in over four decades and so grateful that I found you. God bless your wonderful work!
This video always makes me smile because my grandfather sent it to me in one of his last messages with me, a couple of weeks before he died from Covid... You girls are amazing, as always!
It’s hard to beat Hank Sr’s heart felt and simple lyrics which evoke the joys of ordinary living. Brings back a lot of joyful memories. Thanks for bring joy to a new generation😊💞💞💞!!!
My husband was trying to recall all the words to this song,so I found it on youtube. Did you Iike it, I asked him when it was finished playing. Yeah, but I like the way Reina did it better, he said. But this is Hank Williams! I responded. I know, he replied.😊 So we listened to you two, and I have to admit, we both liked you girl's version best.❤
Toni, your guitar with this song is just amazing and outstanding. Would be ever grateful to you if you kindly make a separate video tutorial on how you had played the guitar with this song. I am sure, thousands like me will love to learn playing like you... will passionately look forward to your video tutorial. Three cheers to Reina and you for your awesome performance ....
Beautiful version of an old favorite! Reina, My father, Tony Joe Cordova was your grand father's (Narce Cordova) brother. It's beautiful meeting family, because the brothers have been gone for some time. Good Luck and God Bless!❤
I've gotta say, the more I watch your videos the more I appreciate Toni's guitar work. It's never overbearing, yet remains complex and fills in the sound wonderfully. Once this pandemic is finally over I hope to see you guys make your way around New York!
Excellent comping and singing skills as well as some serious fretboard mastery by the soloist. These ladies make it look so easy but, believe me, it ain't!
Toni kills me with her guitar skills. EVERY TIME. I can't even play my tenor ukulele like that and it's much smaller and only has four strings to worry about... That gal's skills are unreal to me.
I need like a 3 page essay to explain all the reasons I enjoy this video. In an effort to be brief however: love that you kept it close to the original while at the same time adding your own style, you are both talented and skilled players, and I know just enough about music to know that it takes a while to learn a song. I love it that you took the time to get it right. You both rock. Please know you brought some enjoyment to this middle aged man's life, keep it up.
Dear and Lovely young Ladies. I've been playing that song for more than 40 years and never did it half so well. As a matter of fact I've never heard anyone do it so fine as yourselves. Great lead work, clean and varied with sweet and natural vocal harmonies. I'd face down a herd of runaway trains on torn up tracks to hear you play anywhere. I'll sleep with a smile tonight. Keep it up and thanks from the town of Raymond, Washington
A brilliant rendition girls, just loved your harmony and the melody picked out on the LHS girl's guitar. Hank should be proud of you. Cheers from a boy from Oz.
Thank you for being so real, so talented, so creative, and crafting beauty. Yes, life can be lived as song. Keep sharing your beautiful selves and beautiful songs. In this time of so much strife, You are so needed!
Thank you ladies for this beatiful song wich makes me very happy every time since many many years. I love you and your music. Alfonso Albornoz, Switzerland
I know, right? When she did the guitar line in the first chorus I thought, I wonder if she will sing harmony in the next chorus and still pull off those licks. And of course she did. Impressive.
At 3:21 the question of whether you had reserved time with the railroad to make this video is answered!... Seriously, you two are some TALENT! I'm delighted to have stumbled across your music. Thank you for sharing your wonderful gifts.
I know this is an older video - Just wanted to let you guys know this is one of my favorite videos ever on RU-vid. I’ve been coming back to it consistently for over a year now. All your stuff is great but this one is the best and I would love to see more types of songs like this from you all. You both are beautiful too ❤️❤️❤️
Victoria Yeah, What you just said! Toni’s playing is dazzlingly appropriate to each song I’ve seen, a lovely touch, sweet but not sugar coated if that makes sense. But I’ve rewatched this one numerous times. Thank you ladies for the Sunday mornings!
Christopher Pendergast, Thank goodness for digital music. If I were listening to this piece on vinyl I'd have run the needle through the disk at least a time or three by now.
I came across Reina and Toni by accident one day. I've played guitar since I was a kid and it took me about 5 seconds to realize Toni is one of the most naturally gifted players I've ever heard. What a talent! Reina is certainly no slouch herself either and her voice is just so smooth and easy to listen to, but when they sing those harmonies..... heaven opens.
Ladies, please This is the first time I saw you folks. Please don't stop. Hope to hear more from you. Especially if you have more Hank Williams numbers. Thanks for the video.
Was just thinking at the start that at some point Hank played it like this and then they brought it to another level. Nice wee singer but the girl on the guitar makes it talk
One of my all time favorite songs. You girl's knocked it out of the park, and then some. Definitely the best cover I have ever heard. The sincerity and talent you both bring to the table is profound, musically and visually. It's great to see two young people who are gifted and humble, showing a creative reverence to the masters that came before them. One of the best performances I have ever seen on RU-vid.
I'm just enjoying every bit of your videos. Great singing, great guitar playing, humour and most if all your presence. Raw authentic and laid back It just cannot get better than this! Great goin beauties..
This is becoming one of my fave videos. It’s just so fun and reminds me of my days sitting on the railroad tracks. I also was that or even closer to a train coming. I miss that part of my life. This song is so fun and you both just do an amazing job. I play this all the time to wind down and be in my world of music and no one else’s.
They look like the old blues guys from the hey day when they hung by the railroad track waiting to hop a train car to do a gig in the next state! That's how it all started. These two are great together and I watch them all the time!
