Even though this is such a short dance moment, it's one of my favorite scenes in the movie. It just makes you smile to see everyone having a grand time.
I think faster tempo is why so many prefer this over the Hank Williams version on the soundtrack. The Mudbugs Cajun & Zydeco Band version is closest I’ve found to the Tommy Funderbunk version in the movie.

The boy was Spencer Henderson, coreographer and dancer extraordinaire who sadly passed in 1993 aged only 44, he starred in lots of movies and Broadway shows.
So many filming flaws you catch on this. Truvy's son you see him dancing with her a couple times and then he's dancing with Janice Van Meter. Then the lineup of watchers is always getting mixed up from scene to scene - Claree, Drum & Truvy.
