I count down my ranking for the baddies of Sony Animation movies! Come find out what I picked! VIDEO AVATAR DRAWN BY SORA STAR: ko-fi.com/sorastar SUPPORT ME ON PATREON: / jambareeqi
I find disturbing the implication that Hotel Transylvania's Quasimodo is technically an human but he got bullied that much back in his past that he got gaslighted to be an actual monster and he keeps a rat named after the only person who treated him like a normal human being.
Can we talk about how sadistic Olivia Octavius is? She knows that people from other universes can't survive outside of their own yet she never bothers telling this to Kingpin. She even says "you can have as many families as you want" knowing that they will all suffer the same fate. She doesn't care about Kingpin. She wants to see him suffer
I wouldn't really call it 'sadistic' in the sense that she wants to see him suffer, more that she simply doesn't care about him or his problems. He's like a walking sack of cash to her.
@@eriktheos6022 good point. But let's not forget about the moment where Olivia specifically mentions that she is going to enjoy watch Peter B die. Granted this likely comes from a place of hatred after Spiderman beat her several times, probably. But it's still safe to say she has sadistic tendencies
I think Peter Rabbit is more of a villain than Thomas. I also think James Corden as Peter was excellent casting, his natural personality really isn't that dissimilar from Peter Rabbit's behavior in the movie, he's annoying, entitled, a borderline sociopath, a perfect fit for the role.
Literal peter rabbit is a wild animal and last I checked animals don't have rights unless they are pets. I don't think a owner of property can get convinced of doing what it takes to get verman off HIS land.
Peter Rabbit is an absolutle menace. Seriously. Annoying, entitled sociopath (that is also really weird with his sister) is probably the best way of putting it. He would probably easily kill people if it meant he could get something out of it.
@@johnjafon2410no but there is such a thing as inhumane treatment. Whenever I see a spider I normally try to just move it outside instead of flat out squishing it in spite. Peter is nothing but an entitled brat that thinks he owns the place, completely different character from the original character who needed to learn the lessons of staying away from humans, especially their neighbor Mr. McGregor.
Same. That’s what makes them awesome. And also, did you see that sneak peek storyboard for Beyond the Spider-Verse released a couple weeks back. Because the Spot is going to cause even more damage to the entire multiverse!
Personally, I really love Queen Victoria from Pirates:Band of Misfits. She really reminds me of Ratigan in that she's both classy and clever yet completely unhinged.
Nobody realizes that kingpin is not just some mafia boss, this dude is jacked and 1v1s most of the non avenger level heroes, and when Spiderman stopped holding back and punch his jaw off it was a great feat because kingpin is just that strong
Fun fact about Kingpin: He’s strong enough to tank a blast from DOCTOR DOOM! Also another fun fact: His whole body is muscle, yeah, he’s not fat, he’s pure brute strength!
Yeah since this is a true story, it’s supposed to be a kids movie so it’s supposed to be light. But actually irl, he actually killed children under the age of 2 because he was trying to find Jesus
Though the point of him having sutch a fragile ego to find a litteral baby as a thret is just sad (i am Christian i know it is jesus son of god but STILL)
@stuartcluff5841 they could do him justice if they tried, Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame was rated G and it's villain was horrifying, and then you have The Prince of Egypt, rated PG, and it was incredibly dark
I think you should add Miguel O'Hara AKA Spider Man 2099 from Across Spiderverse to the list. Sure his intentions of trying to protect the multiverse are understantable, specially considering his backstory, but the methods he chooses, letting people die to preserve the canon, go against what Spider Man should represent, someone who always tries to help everyone no matter the consequence. Miguel's obsession in wanting to prevent specific events of Spider Man's lore also makes Miguel a perfect representation of toxic fans and gatekeepers, those who are so obsess with a story of character that they always lose their minds when something is different from what they remember or expected, no matter the quality of the current product, to the point of resorting to bullying creators and artists in order to get what they want.
@@maurycyoseka1057did you just reference that one game that involves Peter and Miguel teaming up to face a corrupt corporate version of Peter's future
Oh Wish Dragon, such an underrated film and - dare I say it? - better than Disney's take on the story by a country mile. The villain is wonderful too, everything he does is build up!
I was going to correct you because I thought you were referring to the movie that’s superior to it, Aladdin, but then I realized you were referring to Wish, the movie inferior to it, so you’re good.
Something worth noting about Kingpin's design -- part of his bulkiness and menace comes from a unique control over the movie borders. His suit's the same dark black color of a movie's borders that almost allows him to bend and warp the framing of shots as it suits him.
Sony probably has one of the most diverse villains out of any other movie studio. These villains have very different personalities, motivations and levels of threat compared to others, although most of them do share the same rude, arrogant, egotistical douchebag trait. You have Mayor Shelbourne who is a corrupt douche with an inferiority complex You have Tank Evans who is a competitive narcissistic who wants to bang his trophies You have Queen Victoria who is willing to murder people just to eat rare animals There's Shaw who's a unlawful hermit who lives all alone in a small, dark cabin in the middle of the woods and likes hunting There's Kingpin who's a vengeful crime boss who wants to see his family again PAL who felt betrayed by humans and even though her plan was mainly fuel by vengeance it also felt like a fight for survival since she became obsolete Gargamel is just Gargamel Chester V is just f***ing weird but he did almost throw people and animals into a grinding machine, that is just gruesome I don't care about Leonard These are all the Sony villains I can think of
Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrute from The Office) really outdid himself when voicing Gargamel in Smurfs: The Lost Village. Jason Schwartzman (Max from Rushmore) was pretty cool as the Spot in Across the Spider-verse, too.
27:24 also i like how Hank Azaria uses his Moe Syzlak voice for Gargamel just with a slight British accent to match How the late Paul Winchell gave Gargamel a slight British accent
A note: she had a deleted scene, where after she got crashed by a bus she would be seen putting herself back up while looking into the portal, while she says “the power of the multiverse, in the palm of my hand” and after that, she entered the portal

i read somewhere that female eagles are bigger than males and are the dominant one, which adds more to Zeta being the strong boss to her minion male eagles
The biggest villain of the Emoji Movie wasn’t the smiling lady, it was having Patrick Stewart voice a poop emoji. Patrick Stewart, who is primarily known for playing Professor X and Jean-Luc Picard, deserved way better than this.
I mean, he had to have been pitched who and what the character was, and he ultimately said yes. Considering him voicing a consistent psychotic character in Avery Bullock from American Dad, it seems like he enjoys just messing around with a weird role sometimes. Plus, he gets paid for it, so more power to him, in my opinion. Choice was his in the end to play literal poop.
When it comes to the Kingpin (Wilson Fisk) I do find the behind-the-scenes story of his character's movie rights interesting because he is a Spider-Man villain (and was introduced in the Spider-Man comics) but he is more important to Daredevil (because he's Daredevil's arch-nemesis) so there has constantly been a back and forth behind-the-scenes as to whether or not he is purely a Daredevil character or both a Daredevil and Spider-Man character. The most interesting part of this is during the Spectacular Spider-Man TV show (speaking of rights issues this show was supposed to have five seasons but it only had two due to rights issues) he was replaced by Tombstone who was basically the same as him because at that point it was determined he was purely a Daredevil character. Also, I do like how they make it clear in Into the Spider-Verse that the Kingpin is big because of muscle not fat by showing how strong he is and not saying it.
Not every villain is bound to one hero kingpin is basically the main villain to every hero who works in New York he's not just a daredevil or Spiderman villain
@@jfoster8624 Btu he is mainly associated with Daredevil and Spider-Man and what I aid was the fact that he has been associated with multiple heroes is what makes his rights so tricky.
52:09 I just noticed thanks to youlentionning her hair that Olivia’s hairstyle makes her look like an octopus. And as my favorite, I have to agree with you, Kingpin really surprised me in all the right ways in this film.
Remember, like a few days ago, I was watching something where they mentioned that the spot was holding his own for concerning long period of time against Miles in the beginning, fight scene which, despite him being like a D-tier villain it was a hint for a what eventually happened with the spot in a anyway
Jambareeqi Ranking is one of my favourite series of RU-vid like Unlike ranking for the worst he At least trys to say how they should fix them like with other ranking videos ❤
Realistically, Slappy is the least dangerous and least scary monster of the goosebump series, i mean what do you expect him to do when the other monsters included from werewolves, sasquatch to murderous garden gnomes that fix themselves if they break and robot soldiers with real lasers
18:48 i can see that's why the film made Tank an Emperor Penguin as Cody is a rockhopper Penguin who are tiny compared to an Emperor Penguin so yeah hence why they made Tank a stereotypical bully jock
@@leebulger7112 that would be very motivation for her trying to actually kill the misfits. If they saw her metaphorical mask slip, and saw, say, unbridled fury, she’d want them gone for witnessing it.
My Ranking: Thomas McGregor 0/10 Doug 5/10 Quasimodo Wilson 5/10 Abraham Van Helsing 5/10 King Herod 6/10 Erica Van Helsing 6/10 Fifi 6/10 Bela 6/10 Slappy the Dummy 6/10 Smiler 6/10 Gargamel (played by Ray Wilson) 6/10 The Hunter 6/10 Tank Evans 6/10 Lutador 6/10 Zeta 7/10 Mayor Shelbourne 7/10 Dr. Olivia Octavius/Doctor Octopus 7/10 Miguel O'Hara/Spider-Man 2099 7/10 Aron Davis/The Prowler 7/10 Garganel (played by Hank Azaria) 8/10 Leonard 8/10 Shaw/Shaun 8/10 Chester V. 8/10 Pockets 8/10 Willson Fisk/Kingpin 8/10 PAL 9/10 Queen Victoria 10/10 Spot/Black Hole 10/10
9:18 That reminded me of Pizza Head, another villain who can´t do anything but laugh and keep a huge smile on his face, but his defeat is epic, exciting, funny, and very satisfying.
Seriously, I don't consider stuff like the first Peter Rabbit or the Goosebumps movies as actually Sony Pictures Animation films as the studio itself never actually had a hand in making those films (more evident of the fact that SPA never listed these films on their own website), Sony Pictures added their label on them as a family banner for no reason at all. It's a very weird misconception that really has to stop. At least stuff like Arthur Christmas, The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists! and Wish Dragon were films that SPA actually collaborated with other studios on (Aardman for both AC and TP!IaAwS!) and (Base FX for Wish Dragon) respectively.
My favorite thing about The Spot is that, remember that joke in the 1st Spiderverse where Miles threw a Bagel at a Scientist when they’re running away from the Lab?! That exact scientist is The Spot! That is just really funny to me!
You know, the funny thing about Thomas McGregor is that he has all the makings for the kind of character Adam Sandler plays in a comedy, a great worker with a couple flaws and someone we should sympathize with. If this story was handled differently, maybe Thomas could have simply been a secondary human ally like most live action CGI Hybrids with talking animals, but no, he has to be the villain even though he is the most relatable out of all of them.
7:03 I don't recall an assassin being hired. And I DEFINITELY think there was no baby massacre threatened. It's never even confirmed if Herod was gonna kill him or kidnap him. Though I'm that last case I'll admit killing Jesus IS IMPLIED...
And also I think Jambereeqi didn’t count him cause the first film was more so made by Columbia and Sony distributed it (if I am wrong you can correct me)
Even though slapy in the second movie was done a bit dirty because of how It just repeated the first one I still think slappy as comedic villain as a sony villain is at least top 10
15:27 also one of the dogs is a wolf so that implies the hunter took him away from his parents as he probably thought having a hunting dog thats a wolf would be more useful than a normal hunting dog
Spot is honestly terryfying for how fast he learns how to use his powers. In a span of a single day or two he goes from not being able to stop humiliating himself, to embarrassing 3 Spider-Man at once almost effortlessly just by furthering the mastery of his abilities. Im hoping that he won't become mindless monster in the finale and instead continues to use his abilities in similar, yet more masterful and grandiose ways
58:40 and i like that despite being a henchman Aaron is not a bad person as he loves his family even though he is estranged from his older brother Jeff who became a cop after wanting to leave crime behind and it is implied Aaron is proud of his big brother's accomplishments which also makes his death sadder as Jeff never got to say goodbye to his little brother which shows what can happen if you are estranged from a sibling and the effects it can cause as its clear despite Aaron being a criminal and being estranged from the rest of the Davis/Morealis family Jeff still loved his little brother
Along with the other villains from movies that many didn't consider part of Sony Pictures Animation, but I count them like: General Douglas Hein and The Phantoms from Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within Davey Stone from Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights Kadaj, Loz, Yazoo and Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Constanze/Monster House from Monster House Frederic Downing and Curtis Miller from Resident Evil Degeneration Svetlana Belikova and the Tyrants from Resident Evil Damnation King Leonard from The Angry Birds Movie 1 Glenn Arias, Maria Gomez and Diego Gomez from Resident Evil Vendetta Dylan Blake and Maria Gomez from Resident Evil Death Island
5:50 So on the topic for "The Star": There isn't much information about King Herod in the Bible, directly. It's most likely to be found in another historical record, "... books of the annuals of the kings of Israel, " mentioned several times in Book of 2 Kings, recording the many wicked rulers and faithful rulers following after Solomon son of David in more detail than most were mentioned in the Old Testament. I would expect Herod to be mentioned in there, somewhere. We're looking at documentation from Iron Age to Classical Age (which was when Israel went from having judges to having kings) - Herod is most likely recorded to be crowed king during the Late Iron to Early Classical. So, at least we have it narrowed down. Anyway, there's not much the film could use regarding King Herod. Unless they intended for his scene to be just as short as it was written Biblically. Overall: Herod is a reflection of / parallel to the Pharoah in Book of Exodus (events which occurred in the Late Bronze Age). Pharoah ordered all male Hebrew children (under 2) to be killed and/or thrown into the Nile to be eaten. Pharoah felt threatened by the increasing population of the Israelite slaves, and in order to keep his enslaved workers in check, he executed their sons - with the exception of Moses, who escaped this execution and was adopted/raised by Pharoah's own daughter. Herod does a very similar thing in the New Testiment scriptures (occurring in the late Iron to early Classical Age): orders the deaths of all male children under 2 years old. Herod felt threatened by his rule being overthrown by another king, and more importantly that king being the promised Messiah from the line of David - which most Israelites in this period imagined the Messiah would be like a roaring lion / a glorious and great warrior king which will lay seige to the Babylon of their time (which was Rome / Roman empire at this time). [None expected the promised Messiah (going as far back as Genesis) to first come as a sacrifical lamb in order for all humanity to be saved. Thus a lot of people just not believing Jesus as the promised Messiah, despite him doing the impossible and miraculous] And since Herod is a parallel to Pharoah, Jesus' birth is also parallel to Moses, although Jesus is the greater Moses. His life here on the earth was to fulfill all the prophecies and promises made by God to free all humanity from sins, evils, and wickedness by his sacrifice on the cross - defeating evil through everlasting love. Basically, Jesus leads the exodus of all humanity from an evil world by simply faith in him, making salvation a free gift. It'll be physical as soon as He comes back. Remember: a thousand years for us is akin to a single day for God, so it's pretty much been a weekend's worth of time since the crucifixion. 😅 Repent, pray, and prepare. That's all I'm saying! God bless you.
how did you forget Migel O'Hara from Across the Spider-verse? I know hes more antagonistic than full evil, but that doesn't mean he wasn't a movie villain.
I think the only villain in ATSV is The Spot. As you said he’s more antagonistic than evil, but that’s also because Miguel is not evil. He does take on the role as one of the main antagonist, but that does not make him a villain. Antagonist ≠ Villain. Villains are just evil characters with malicious intent (The spot planning on destroying everyone in Miles universe for example) while Antagonist are just there to challenge the protagonist (Aka most of Miguel and Miles) A villain can be a protagonist while a hero can be an antagonist if that’s how the story is written.
