In this video, I count down my picks for the Top 5 Best & Worst animated Scooby-Doo feature films! VIDEO AVATAR DRAWN BY SORA STAR: / sorastar17 SUPPORT ME ON PATREON: / jambareeqi FOLLOW ME ON TWITCH: / jambareeqi
The entire point of the original Scooby-Doo on zombie Island is the fact that, eventually, you get sick of watching them pull masks off of people and want to see them catch a real monster. The original film not only gave us this concept, but a perfect execution of it: it has the characters expecting it to be another person in a mask and has them be very surprised and genuinely terrified when it turns out to be real. The sequel completely missed this point.
I agree with all your points. The only thing I'd like to say though, is that "Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island", wasn't the FIRST time real monsters were in Scooby-Doo Technically, the first time real monsters were in the franchise, was in the second of "Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo". Although probably the most well-known examples OTHER than "Zombie Island", are "The 13 Ghost's of Scooby-Doo", and the three Hanna-Barbera Superstars movies; "Boo Brothers" 👻 "Ghoul School" 👾 and "Reluctant Werewolf 🐺
@@superchicken5095 the real monsters were silly, goofy, and not inherently hostile in those. Plus, I'm pretty sure those were in a separate continuity.
@@superchicken5095 They have that levitating candle in the first episode. Supernatural has always been present. Though, with all the movies having the ghosts be real, having a movie go back to people in masks is a change up in the same way it originally was. Just no need to poo all over the original when doing the new movie.
Brickleberry might’ve been awful, Allen Gregory was offensive, Fairview made me want to get a chainsaw root canal… But Velma is SO AWFUL it’s legally considered a carcinogen. Johan Liebert from Monster wasn’t this deplorable and that somabitch LITERALLY had a Neo-Nazi group try to make him their god!
I’m surprised Hanna and Barbera approved of Scooby Doo on zombie Island because there’s material in that movie that Hanna-Barbera definitely would not do
I have been brainstorming an idea for a Scooby Doo miniseries where Mystery Inc. is a full on detective business with Fred as the lead detective, Dauphine, Shaggy, and Scooby as field operatives, Velma as a forensics expert, and other Hanna Barbara Scooby clone characters as staff. As far as stories go, the first one is a classic Scooby Doo episode with a twist at the end hinting at a much larger mystery, an episode that challenges Mystery Inc.’s perception of monsters when they find out some staff members ARE monsters themselves, a battle of the bands where the Hex Girls are revealed to be actual vampires, an island of giant skeleton warriors, an updated Boo School, and Scrappy Doo’s big shot at redemption. That’s what I have so far, but let me know what you think and if there’s anything else that could be worth exploring. I do have 2 major rules. 1. There ARE supernatural elements in this series. 2. No making characters cruel for the sake of being subversive.
I regret to inform you that your idea is much too good for the standards of today's Warner Bros. They are looking for garbage, mediocrity, or anything in between. But your idea is actually _good._ They won't go for it. They'd rather produce literal garbage like _Velma_ or sh¡tty sequels like _Return to Zombie Island_ that ruin their best movies. You're better off turning it into your own mystery series with original characters. There's nothing wrong with taking inspiration from something you love and turning it into your own thing. Like the Venture Bros was inspired by Scooby Doo and Johnny Quest. Good luck to you, good sir or ma'am. If you do write your own mystery thing, I would very much like to read it.
Zombie Island gave me my phobia of zombies, because I had a horrific nightmare after watching that movie. I'm still surprised I turned out to be a horror fan, when it should've scared me away from anything scary lol.
As a big Scooby Doo fan thank you for making this video thanks for putting camp scare stage fright and Scooby Doo on zombie island in your best list cause camp scare and Scooby Doo on zombie island are one of my favourites
as a child i always loved legend of the phantosaur (i loved and still love dinosaurs) and i now realise i only watched very few scooby doo movies, out of the like 6 ive ever watched though its still probably my favourite one
Back then, I wasn't a big fan of the Scooby-Doo franchise, but I grew more fond of it as time went by. I found it interesting how you put SD: Return to Zombie Island and SD on Zombie Island as the #1 worst and best respectively, as the former is a great example of how to do disservice to the fanbase by making a sequel that serves as a nostalgia trap while Scoob! also did disservice by favoring cinematic universe-making over franchise-building. One movie I've been meaning to watch is the fairly recent Trick or Treat, Scooby-Doo, and I hope Hannah Barbera learns from the many hits and misses from all the movies they made for the series.
Personally love the list but I really just love either alien invaders or cyber chase more than stage fright. Don’t get me wrong stage fright was great but the other two just had the amazing animation style, amazing stories, and great characters. Stage fright has those but doesn’t have the nostalgia factor of the other to and the darkness. I loved the dark earlier 2000s scooby doo’s. Great list tho
imo monster of mexico and samurai sword are probably my 2 favorite scooby doo movies. i don't know what it is about them but god they were my entire (early) childhood
I Knew That Zombie Island is The Number 1 Best Place😊🧟♂️🧟♀️. And The Woodsman is a Awesome Villain and To me he looks like a Mix Between Mr. Hyde and The Creeper and A Little Bit of The Undertaker💚. And Stage Fright is Awesome too💚. And Witch’s Ghost is Also Awesome💜.
Scooby Doo on Zombie Island will always be my favorite Scooby Doo movie and to me the best Scooby Doo movie. I actually met Scott Ines and Grey DeLisle Griffin and got an autographed Zombie Island poster.
My favorite Scooby doo movies are the animated films from the 2000s that being Scooby doo and the lochness monster, Scooby doo legend of the vampire, Aloha Scooby doo etc. I just love the what’s new Scooby doo art style of those movies but I also enjoy the Scott Innes era of Scooby doo
I didn’t hate Scoob!, but the biggest issue I have with the movie isn’t the artstyle, isn’t the lack of mystery, isn’t the Tinder joke-it’s that this clearly intended to be a kickoff to some cinematic universe (because, yes, it’s a strong business strategy but nobody understands how to ACTUALLY build one), yet instead of trying to pitch the movie as a Part 1 of ???, the movie feels more like it was written to be a Part 4, Part 5 or even 6. Most of the designs feel well translated into this new style but they introduce Dick Dastardly, Blue Falcon, and even Captain Caveman like they already had their own movies that went into detail about their backstories, character, and we should already know them. You can see the remnants of what was *supposedly* a stand-alone Scooby-Doo movie (maybe a franchise rebrand, maybe just a quick one-and-done modernization, who knows what the original plan was), but then they slammed three or four different movies on top of it out of either lack of confidence or just thinking the Scooby-Doo name could let these other ideas springboard off (kinda like what the DuckTales reboot did with integrating Rescue Rangers or Darkwing Duck), but it’s more like Robyn Starling in the Tom & Jerry movie where they basically just hijack the rest of the story. I didn’t intend this to turn into a whole rant, but there we go. I didn’t hate Scoob, I actually would’ve liked a Hanna-Barbera version of the MCU, but it’s just so sloppy and held together with duct tape and chewing gum.
There is only 1 Scooby-Doo movie that i truly love and that's gotta Scooby-Doo And The KISS Rock & Roll Mystery, it introduced me to KISS and it's been my favorite band for years now.
Oh wow, I *totally* didn't expect Stage Fright to be in your Top 5 at all, but I'm happy you have it! I of course love it as a Phan for being a Scooby-Doo mystery centered around Phantom of the Opera, a crossover I'd low-key hoped for as a kid due to the story's origins as an intended mystery novel, but yes, it *is* quite funny, and I love what they did with Steve. Part of me wonders if the reveal of him being totally fine was a riff on the less-than-stellar execution of Gerard Butler's deformity-that's-really-a-sunburn in the 2004 Schumacher film of the ALW musical. 😆🌹 I was *about* to say that it makes up for you not liking Witch's Ghost, but then I saw it placed in your Top 2 spot! Based on your criticisms towards it in COTC, I figured you weren't a fan, but I'm glad to hear you give praise to it this time 'round! You must've really re-evaluated the film since your last review! You even *gasp* called it one of Tim Curry's more nuanced performances! *shakes head* Not trying to make fun of you for your old opinions, I swear, I'm just really glad to hear you've changed your attitude towards it, because it's always been my favorite, even more so than Zombie Island. Though that mainly comes from WG having the advantages of being set in New England (where I'm from), the Hex Girls, and Tim Curry's involvement. 😉🥰🧙♀
All depends on which season you watch. In Mystery Inc, It seems like Fred is. But watch Be Cool and it's clearly Daphne. Watch another season and it's Velma being neruodivergent. Or you know, Shaggy is talking to his dog like it's a person and eating dog snacks, could be him.
Other Scooby-Doo films I'll see and own soon are Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders and Scooby-Doo and the Relentic Werewolf. Then I think I could definitely have a great top 5.
9:04 At least the Monsterverse is more well put together than the DCEU and it looks more professional than the current MCU which is rushing it's movies out nowadays.
Legend of the phantosaur is my personal favorite Scooby Doo movie it's so chaotic and never fails to make me laugh it's about robotic and ghost dinosaurs it's wild stupid and also has the Chad fearless shaggy it's so greay
How to pallbearer made a huge risk when they made Scooby Doo on zombie Island I mean this is the studio behind huckleberry hound, scaring the ever loving shit out of kids
My personal top 5 best and worst are Worst 5. Scooby doo and the monster of Mexico 4. Scooby doo and the reluctant werewolf 3. Scooby doo and the 13th ghost. 2. Scooby doo and the samurai sword (sad fact this was the last Scooby Doo film Shaggy’s original voice actor Casey Kassum did before he passed away) 1. Scooby doo return to zombie island 5. Scooby doo and the alien invaders 4. Scooby doo and the witches ghost 3. Scooby doo abra kadara doo 2. Scooby Doo camp scare 1. Scooby doo on zombie island
My Top 5 Best Scooby-Doo Animated Movies are; 1. Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island 2. Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost 3. Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase 4. Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders 5. Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare
Some of these newer ones look good, haven’t seen any of the animated movies since Legend of the Phantomsaur aired. Well except for & Batman: the Brave and the Bold. Going to need to check some of them out. Any suggestions besides on the list?
My top favorite Scooby-Doo films I've seen so far: 1. Scooby-Doo On Zombie Island 2. Scooby-Doo and the Legend of the Vampire 3. Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase 4. Scooby-Doo and the Witches Ghost 5. Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo 6. Scooby-Doo and Kypto Too 7. Scooby-Doo: Camp Scare 8. Scooby-Doo: Stage Fright 9. Scooby-Doo: The Movie 10. Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed
Here are some of MY Top Scooby movies Ghoul School Reluctant Werewolf Zombie Island Goblin King Straight Outta Nowhere Abracadabra-Doo Monster of Mexico Samurai Sword Boo Brothers
Happy Halloween Scooby Doo felt too half a$sed to me. Also, Frankencreepy in the top 5 _worst?_ How? Have you not seen The Monster of Mexico? Or The Boo Brothers? Or many others??
I noticed you sidetracked several times to bring up something that serves no relevance in the video. Was the bit about GoodTimes mockbusters necessary? No, just fluff that pads the length.
Since you think scoop could have been a good movie how do you think they could have done the blue Falcon and dick dastardly part while still making sure they're still key components
Mine is Legend of the Phantasaur Cyberspace Reluctant Werewolf Ghoul School Gobling King Samurai Abracadabra-Doo Witch's Ghost Wheres my Mummy Chill out Scooby-Doo
I think Warner probably asked them for permission. Plus the fact Universal can't technically sue because the original French novel of Phantom is public domain.
The Phantom of the Opera is in the public domain. I noticed this phantom and film itself borrows and makes a lot of references to the original novel with some scenes and character names.
They've met Batman _several_ times over the years, there's a new crossover movie with Krypto the Superdog (that may or may not be "canceled" but it's already been leaked??), and in Scooby Doo and Guess Who series there are episodes with the Flash and Wonder Woman. DC heroes exist in the Scooby verse so...why can't they run into just the villains?
