Jambo The Hairless Chimp and His Troop 

Jambo a chocolate chimp with genetic alopecia is the dominant alpha male chimp at Twycross Zoo
He lost his unusual and rare brown fur over time due to the genetic alopecia he inherited from his mother Coco, who also has the genetic condition caused by a recessive gene and has partial alopecia herself
Despite his alopecia Jambo is well liked and respected by the rest of the chimpanzee troop and as a result he is the dominant male chimp of his troop. The lack of hair shows his impressive muscle tone that all chimpanzees possess due to their huge strength and climbing abilities.
Jambo and the other Hairless chimps in his troop are residents at Twycross Zoo. The hairless chimpanzees and other chimps at the zoo respect and admire Jambo, which is why despite his Chimp Alopecia and chimpanzee battle scars he holds the rank of Alpha Male Chimp. He has so many scars and injuries due to the nature of the dominance displays that all chimps carry out in the wild and in captivity to win dominance and leadership within Chimpanzee family groups.
