I've had my Trend Credit Card a while now, and honestly don't know how I managed without it. I use it all the time now for honing my turning tools, and carbide cutters, while I'm turning a project, saving the need for a visit to the grinder. The really great thing is I haven't had to use the grinder at all on my skew chisels, since getting this Diamond Card, which is a result in itself. Cheers Mike

Hi James sorry to be a bit dim i bought the credit card with 600 and 300 with a hole in it which side is the hole on when sharpening with 300 grit ? cheers well impressed by the way

My credit cards which I supply do not have a hole in it ! Also each side is etched with the grit size (as in the video) and they are 1.60 mm thick and these cheaper ones are neither etched or of the same thickness. You can purchase the ones demonstrated in the video from , Classic hand tools, Edgepro tools, Simon Hope woodturning, Ed Oliver, WoodRat, FT tools, Beaver Bushcraft and many others. I am glad you are impressed but In my opinion you would be staggered by the difference in quality .

@@jamesbarry6431 Cheers James this is genuine trend card bought this before i saw you on youtube another woodturner recommended them ,do Amazon sell your 300 grit cards ? as i use it mainly for HSS steel and no Carbide tipped gear cheers

Granville Bennet if you fundamentally need it for Woodturning I would suggest the 180/300 grit designed predominantly for turners. Amazon prices seem a bit erratic ? Should be in the region of £20.00 + vat Try Ed Oliver Woodturning - can buy online at his site Hope that helps.

Everything I have seen says no lubrication is needed on diamond stone when sharpening knives. Can you comment on this?

If you do not use a lubricant on a diamond stone you are simply going to clog it up and then you will find there is no abrasion. The lapping fluid keeps the diamond free of residue and keeps the stone working as it is designed to do.

+James Barry I tend to run my hand over the stone and grey-up my fingers to unclog it. I cannot afford to be messing with oil in my home area. I sharpen on my computer desk since that is the only decent hard surface I have. I know you mentioned about rust, but that seemed under certain conditions only. Disregarding rust, would water actually function as people seem to think?

+techwg I think your best option in this case is to use it dry and make sure you clean it down each time with a cleaning block which in fact is a drawing office soft white rubber / eraser. I understand the problems with using a fluid in the home or kitchen. Would be a cleaner option for you ?

+James Barry Possibly. Thanks. I have seen your name around on a few videos now to do with sharpening. Are you a big sharpening stone guy or something? Or a tool maker or someone?
