I'm a guitarist and I've brought people to tears with this song. One of the most powerful songs ever written. For me it brings a sense of achievement that is recognised once its lost. Anyone who loses what the song describes had what the song describes in their heart and that is a huge achievement.

I remember I was a teenager when this song was released. All my friends (boys) used to laugh at his high pitched voice. Now we'd probably shed a tear listening to it. I actually feel like James Blunt's songs are some of the most genuine, straight from the heart songs to be released in the last few decades. Seems like an actual nice guy as well.

What I love about this performance is the EFFORT he puts into it! You can literally feel it!! He quiets down a HUGE crowd with a piano and his voice. Absolutely brilliant!!!

One of the all time great Glastonbury performances this is. Not many RU-vid videos shake your soul, but blimey James absolutely delivered on this one. The power and emotion in it is unlike any other I have seen. Absolutely beautiful.
We can reflect our own stories into this emotional one and it may hurt us or be depressed whenever we listen. However, this is worthy cuz it proves that we loved them truely. Holy shit. Going through an extremely rough time with my wife (her health 34) and was just drinking in the garage wallowing in my sorrows and this was on the suggested video. You can hear the pain in his voice, as he looks out in the crowd, longing, just hoping to have a glimpse that they are there some where out in the crowd, look at his facial expression and body language, his eyes of sadness and despair, hoping, longing, for their return. But alast! There is no return, ahhh you can tell that he really misses the person he has lost, and hasn't gotten over them until now. He must have really have loved that person. Hats of Mr James Blunt, you are an extraordinary singer, a great story teller, a great singer, one of the best for me. I gave a bow to you.
Someone bought me tickets to see him as a joke in Sheffield just after he released back to bedlam. Not one to waste others money I went along and 15 years later I'm still his biggest fan. I'll still be his biggest fan in another 15 as well.
