I used to follow Blunt everywhere before the 'Your Beautiful' blowup, there's always been a demo version of this circling on the internet, it's great to have a new version.
The expressions on his face are frightening, yet perfect…..It looks like he is trying his hardest to not poop his pants. The end product is amazing. Incredible cover.
he loves this song and loves showing it to ppl who might not know it #pixiesforever .. everyone talks about nirvana, led zep, beatles, queen, the cure .. but pixies never really gets mentioned in the same way, they were SO influential and groundbreaking. so props to james.
@@anneominous7172 well he's trying to sing the song all pretty and making it ornate and giving it lots of vibrato in his voice when the song is fundamentally about mental illness and anguish which tells me he's just performing and hasn't thought about what the words mean and what the song is about so he lacks depth and is just all about surface which again is totally contrary to the song which is about being a bit lost and confused but feeling that confusion on a deep level. so that's my interpretation. what's your take?
@@feralmodeit's his style. Have u not heard his music before? All of his music bleeds depth and emotion. He's not trying to sing pretty he's singing as himself. It's a great cover
I'm a fan of heavy metal and at our wedding my wife and me got 2 tickets for James Blunt. I think it was from a raffle or something. ^^ I wouldn't have bought the tickets by myself, but I must say he's a really good live musician. Also plays piano as good as guitar and his singing sounds live almost like the studio versions. Not the worst concert I was I'd say. 🙂
Man James blunt is really not appreciated enough. Guy is a seriously great musician with such an epic range. I remember when back to bedlam came out and he was so under valued and now he goes from goodbye my lover to an epic cover to a fuckin tune. Absolute legend
Wow... Uhm... I'm more a kind of metal guy but I have a special connection to this song and found ... James Blunt... Performing it whit exact the way it should be covered. Amazing voice. So delivers so much passion. I'm baffled...
He's a pretty cool guy by all accounts.. Even he said that if he wasn't James Blunt, he would hate James Blunt. It's just because You're Beautiful got SO MUCH radio airtime, it wasn't really his fault.
Say what you want about James Blunt, every performance he puts in so much raw emotion and you can’t help but be captivated whether you like him or not. That’s a talent in itself.
My opinion of him was starkly changed when I met him in a pub in Northampton in 2016(ish). Chatted with me for like two hours about guitars and motorcycles. One of the more down to earth people I've ever met.
Listen to ME & DEBOE Cover of this. Where Is My Mind. Amazing!!!! And all their other covers!! Unbelievable!!!!! Besides all their own fantastic songs and releases they've recorded and done themselves.
That's incredible! Just wanted to listen to this song I heard long time ago, and suddenly find it as a cover of James Blunt 🫠🫠🫠.. . Don't even know what better than this could happen today...! It's like he read my mind and sang it 🤯
Great cover 👌 his voice suits the song brilliantly which I didn’t expect. My usual genre is metal/rock/grunge etc . . . . But I have always love James Blunt, great song writer who is only getting better in my opinion! Anyone who can write a song like Monsters seriously knows what they are doing 👌👍 Bravo Mr Blunt
Jakie to piękne, że można śpiewać z taką pasją, w takich emocjach, a jednocześnie słuchacz widzi ile radości to sprawia ARTYŚCIE - przez wielkie A. Ogromna przyjemność ogląć i suchać takich wykonań. Dziękuję.
@@MB-pq7im I didn’t even know Placebo covered it. I just watched it. It was great! But I’m still going with James’s Blunt’s version as my fav. Placebo’s is great though!!! And, I do love Placebo!!!
I remember his set on DirecTV back in 2006 where I first heard this. I was 13 and was so overtaken with his music because of some girl I had met, and I had watched that thing about a thousand times. I’m seeing this after all that time and it’s bringing back a lot of memories, particularly the fact that I still haven’t heard the Pixies’ original all the way through yet😅
