As for a part where the bullets went through to jacket going through bulletproof material yeah that's kind of bored but John was shot before but yes once again going through the jacket is kind of an oof on the part of the animators more than that fairly logical

It's inconsistent. I don't have a problem about bond winning, it couldn't have weakened because after he gets shot by bond, his suit blocks more minigun rounds.

@@tylerscott7567 Wick's white undershirt is not armored and he used his arms to block the initial shots by the car. Plus Wick's armor is just kevlar and likely to stop only 9mm and lower so the .30-cal minigun on bonds car shoud have torn him to shreds.
And it was also weakened by the miniature rocket blasted from James Bond’s cigarette that hit him in the same spot that he got fatally shot at later in the fight. But yeah I agree with this as well.
Okay, the thing with the bullets going through Wick’s suit, I’m pretty sure the gun shot through the white undershirt, which we’ve seen in the movies is NOT bulletproof, but I think the exit wound in the bulletproof vest may have been something the animators decided rather than a decision from the writers for this battle. John wasn’t exactly holding his suit in front of him either like he did in the second movie, so Bond would be able to hit the undershirt rather than the suit because of basic logic that the flaps of the suit would move back since he’s running forward, revealing more undershirt for Bond to shoot at. Edit: I’m only saying this to point out why it happened, not to change people’s opinion
what do you mean the undershirt isn't bulletproof, if you mean the scene where john gets shoot like 5 times in one spot, then it didn't go through just caused bleeding from being shot in the same place.

I think the scatter bullets could conceivably punch through with the rounds, but not from single shots, but what bothered me a little more is that the car's shots did not even phase Wick that much, and I know a flurry od those would at least push a grown man to the ground if not penetrate his jacket. I agree there should have been more stalking around and more planning from Bond, but I am also fine with the final judgement, and the chandelier death was a cool way to go for a top tier assassin.

Don't see the problem with the bullet proof suit thing, there are several ways to read it. His undershirt isn't bullet proof, only his tie and jacket is, Bond burned a hole in the suit earlier with the cigarette rocket the same place Wick was shot, and his scattershot bullet rounds are way more powerful and could believably pierce the suit. Any of those work, it could even be multiple of them
The thing is they showed him getting shot by high cal rounds from the car and it got blocked but a somewhat powerful 9mm from a ppk could. Their right a head shot would've been good. I know it's fictional but a least be consistent.

While I agree with James winning, I do agree that the scene with James’s bullets going through John then have his back be completely fine from the car the next scene was both the most badass and stupidest part of the fight. I honestly think they should’ve ended it with John dodging the chandelier from the car then grabbing his gun with James doing the iconic shot and then showing John with a hole in his head
But it's 2 different parts of his armor. one is the front upper torso that was weakened by the car and the second scene is his lower back which hasn't been damaged yet.
I'm okay with either. This is a situation where both could have won given the situation. I believe that Bond is too reliant on his gadgets, where John is too reliant on his bulletproof suit. Take one away from the other, they would be screwed. But the one advantage that Wick does have is that he goes for the headshots pretty quick, something I do not remember Bond doing except when the bad guy is already down. Personally, if it was hand-to-hand and nothing else, Bond would have lost.
As someone who has never seen a bond movie and has seen John wick i knew for a fact Bond was winning mid dif. Faster reaction and quick draw. Equally as skilled. And gadgets outclass him. The bullet proof thing isnt really ridiculous. Bond has pretty much been attack that area the entire time. But when the car shot him it was his back which was untouched and he blocked one of the attacks with his sleeves. In the post analysis you can see Wick getting penetrated by bullets as his white shirt is shot but not his suit.
I had a feeling Bonds magic movie tech would get him the win in the end. While John's universe is set to be a bit in the realm of realism, Bonds was had a lot of magical tech and uses "Anime Logic" (didn't know how to word it lol) and Anime Logic always trump's realism in fiction 😅.
The problem with Death Battle is the episodes themselves are always well written and well researched, and I think they justify their points well - but the animation team and the writing team don't talk enough.

Basically, and extrovert and introvert working a school project together but they don't communicate with each other pretty well, the extrovert has done their part of presenting such and such and communicate with the introvert, however the introvert may not be great socializing with the extrovert, and they've done their part in their project and may put in something new or last minute, and then it just goes to either if them not know this or communicating or just basically that they couldn't even make it to the deadline of the due project submitted.
Bullet proof jackets no matter how good all get worn down the more they're shot, they lose more of that dispersion they rely on to deal with that level of kinetic energy so its plenty believable that Wick's armor was done after the car shot him a bunch.
I would've went with: Q it looks like it's lights out for Baba Yaga With as many machine gun bullets as his suit took it wouldn't stay uncompromised forever. Between that and the laser watch and cigar it was a matter of time before his Walther PPK and it's ammo put holes in it. Besides it's the falling light that killed him I don't think a bulletproof vest would save him from that

Knowing the first 3 John Wick films take place in two weeks and over 300 assassins were killed, those 'cleaners' were making bank. No wonder that one dude in movie 1 was happy to see him back. On whom I believe would have won, I'm going back and forth. Either one could have won and I would have bought it, but the way how they did and showed it wasn't well thought through.
The most I could explain for the bullets going through the suit was because the bullets from bond's gun are modified to shatter into 8 smaller bullets, as Boomstick said "accuracy of a pistol but it hits like a shotgun". You might be thinking, "Why didn't the guns in the car penetrate it then?", the velocity of those guns are why it's so dangerous, if those guns were constantly on Wick then it might have done more damage, but it wasn't, it kept spinning. That's the only logic I could relatively think of.
Bulletproof clothing is weakened after being shot and eventually fails usually not long after the first few hits. So him being sprayed then shot at closer range makes total sense for it to penetrate.....

Hell, most people shot eith bulletproof vests get huge bruises because of the speed of bullets. And definetly getting hit several times by a chain gun is going to weaken it. Specially if afterwards he is shot with the equivalent of a shotgun round for a pistol
To be fair, it looks like James shoots John at the joints of his body just before the kill and armor is weakest at the joints even if it's a full body armor
The guy who directed the John Wick movies, Chad Stahleski, was a former MMA fighter and the stunt double for Brandon Lee in The Crow. So it makes sense that he would make a movie about another vengeful dark-haired protagonist.
If we are really going to go by what happened during the animated fight, it’s possible that the miniature rocket fired from Bond’s cigarette may have compromised that part of the body armor, allowing Bond’s bullets to pierce that part of the suit. But then again, the animated fight uses as much of the listed arsenals as possible to create the right amount of drama and spectacle. To use the animated fights _solely_ to describe how things would go down wouldn’t be appropriate. That’s why there’s a detailed analysis after the fight is over: to offer insight as to why the fight would end in favor of the winner
Yeah, but what can you do, really... 99% of people who watch these have already decided who should win, and they don't care about the how or why. So if their pick wins, they get to be insufferably smug and _charitably_ declare it a great fight, but if they lose they turn into a pillar of salt, deaf to all reason and logic.
Truthfully the only flaw I ever have with death battle anymore is the times in which their fight goes for “rule of cool” and ignores the information from the character bio section. A good example is this fight. Once they did the classic intro scene for James Bond for a single shot that should’ve been the end of it. Instead they drew it out and started doing things that contradicted the information just so they could have wick die by chandelier and Bond gives a pun. I prefer watching death battle not five minute melee or any of their other shows that are just straight battle without any analysis.

Something is wrong with the audio. I do fully agree though, the bullets should never have just suddenly been able to shoot through his jacket. Its fine Bond won, honestly it makes sense...but the animation should have done that differently.

i think bond special bullets like shoot off when it makes contact, so i believe the first shoot hit the johns armor but the shotguns like blasted though into him
As far as I’m concerned, anyone who is mature enough to put their bias aside would see that John is just inferior here. Sure he is, like 007, a masterful martial artist and marksman. However, he is also a more headstrong character in a slightly more grounded universe who powers his way through his enemies like an angry 90s action-hero. He’s basically John Rambo in a suit. Bond, on the other hand, is a refined, strategic super-spy who has spent decades saving the world while out-smarting, out-shooting, and out-fighting genius-level terrorists, enhanced mercs, and other foes that Wick has never had to contend with. And 007’s Batman-level weaponry/gadgets would totally take anyone in the Wick universe by surprise. Honestly, this is just one of those DBs that is pretty easy to figure-out and if you just take some time to think about it.
This battle kind of seemed more one sided with all of bond's ridiculous movie magic gadgets, I bet you if he didn't have them Wick would more likely if not definitely win
Yeah, but that would be a handicap. Bond without the gadgets is like saying Black Panther without vibranium or Batman without his gadgets. It's his equipment. A staple of the character.

Well cartoon bullshit or not, it remains a fact that Popeye still hit the sun and tilted the Earth. He still did those things. So I think it should be counted as a legit feat for analysis.
It's okay to have an opinion, but it's also good to have a reason for it other just because you like the character, such as with your reaction to Saitama vs Popeye, which you did skip over most of and still claim you disagreed with the outcome without saying much as to why. Again, having an opinion is okay and it technically can't be "wrong" in this set of circumstances, but people will understand, respect, and hassle you less if it actually holds at least a bit of water.
Aside from the jacket and tie being bullet proof. The thing that irks me. Is that they didn't say anything of the many, many ridiculous. Nearly superhuman feats john has done in the comics. I feel they may have downplayed john a bit here. They also only seemed to use the movies as a reference point. Which i guess would be fine if the movies were an actual representation of the comics. Which they very loosely are. Using the movies only. Kind of takes john away from most of the stuff that i feel could have been cool to see here.
speaking of equilibrium. That movie is the story of 20 years from now: If you feel......anything.....you take a pill....and if you don't take the pill....they come for you..... We already have half of that: everyone takes pills.....simply for feeling......and the government will come and take you away if you speak out against the government..... The fact that people don't see this trajectory is chilling......or more so.....that plenty see it......but none care.
Actually in most body armor It only protects you the first time you get shot even in US military plate armor it’s made to disperse the impact of the bullet but even then it starts to crack at close range and with thin armor like police issued soft armor people still get broken ribs and internal bleeding

the only issue i have with this death battle is that they should of had another agents against bond like Ethan hunt from mission Impossible and have agent 47 from hitman against john wick then i feel it be more of a balance fight of an assasin vs assasin, spy vs spy
yeah sometimes the animation is dumb. the clicking pen didntt even match when it should explode. but to be fair, you can delete the scene where the bullets penetrate him and the ending wouldnt be affected.
It was the cigarette rocket it must of damaged wicks body armour when it blew up on his chest... not enough to kill him but enough to make his armor less functional eventually giving way to bullets... after an explosion strong enough and covering enough surface area any armor can weaken enough for bullets to start getting through unless the material is inately more durable than bullets and can negate the kinetic energy that's alot of ifs... so the theory makes sense to me anyways! But honestly overall I think it's alot of if's as much martial arts experience bond has I still feel like wick should of beaten in him in that category! and overall this feels like a plot armor kind of scenario... as I feel wick would of won bare minimum of 65% of the time... because even though bond has an advantage with his gadgets he relies on them a little too much some times and that dependence could be used against him!

@Ayforrealthatlit being around longer, especially decades longer, means Bond has had far more media made about it for them to pull from. More media means more feats, skills, and gadgets that will be displayed in one way or another, so the amount of time a character has been around does matter

Yeah that ending was bullshit. Wicks suit tanked the machine guns from the car but it couldent take a bullet from a handgun. They may have said that the gadgets was the key but the 2 bullets that went through Wicks suit was the deciding blow. So there whole resoning for why Bond won is negated as they were not the deciding factor in the fight.
They winner is decided by the research and analysis to determine who has a higher chance of winning. The animation is only scripted afterwards. The actual events and details of the animation have no effect on the winner. It's just the animations job to reflect the research, which I admit, the animation of this battle was weird and should've been better.
@@sylveriron2575 Yeah but the bullet only split after it hade hit the target so it would only have been 1 impact point anyway not 8. This spliting/deforming effect on a bullet after hitting there target isent even that special its used in basic hunting ammo.

It just sucks that the moment in the fighting where Wick losses isent becouse of any gadgets, its becouse he was shoot instead. I'm not a fan of Bond, so F him. I think that Death Battle still didn't done their lesson well. And also, they just did John Wick dirty simply because they think that Bond is better. I. Sorry but I have to say. Based off of their natural prowesses, bonds tech and wicks headstrong fighting John should have won. I'm sorry(and I'm not trying to undermine others opinions) but even with bonds gadgets. Bond was strategic and kept wick far away so he could use his gadgets but wick (showing in this battle) could with stand those bullets and overpower bond. I know bond has fighting power but wick IS more than trained. Bond has been trained but not to the extent of wick. Also the bullets very clearly hit wicks upper shoulders. No bullets through out the battle even touched those areas until the ones that did go through. Wick was done dirty by not having the one thing he does in his movies, a realistic approach. Yeah he and bond were mostly following natural laws and physics but wick did have the upper hand in combat. Again, bond kept him at bay with his gadgets but he will run out and he almost did. Those can't keep him at bay forever, hell the car didn't really do much besides glitch out and shoot everywhere. Even though bond has gadgets they can be broken. Sorry just my opinion after seeing both of these two's movies and stuff.
Ok the reason why his bullets went though his armour is because of one reason, they’re basically extreme armour piercing, he could shoot at the front of a Challenger 2 (the most armoured tank in the world) and kill of its crew. Also yes body armour does work the way it works in games. The more it gets shot the weaker it gets. It won’t keep its strength. All it takes is a few 9mm rounds to start going through the best level 3a armour in the world all of the Kevlar melts and sticks to the rounds which bunches it up on one side and leaves open areas. If it’s not Kevlar (which in the film I think it’s a super Kevlar) the armour plates begin to shatter considering its a brittle slab of of ceramic.
You know John wick got a bullet wound in the movie right? Bullet proof anything only stops working after you been shot a certain number of times buy a high caliber gun!
