James Joseph Brown (May 3, 1933 - December 25, 2006) was an American singer, songwriter, dancer, musician, record producer and bandleader. A progenitor of funk music and a major figure of 20th century popular music and dance, he is often referred to as the "Godfather of Soul". In a career that lasted 50 years, he influenced the development of several music genres.

I was Mr. Browns bodyguard and head of security for 6 years prior to his passing. I was standing in the wings in D.C., California, Iowa, New York and the hottest spots in Vegas. The thrill of being part of this legendary team was a high for me. I miss Mr. Bobbett, Butter, Mr. Johnson, Teddy and the Soul Generals. A great part of my life which I will never forget. His music lives on and is still enjoyed by millions.

I don’t know who you people are buy every one of you would be lucky to scrap her boots off. She is incredible and brought life and joy to James in his last years. She gave him the greatest gift, a son. And she is a fantastic singer and person. I was in her life for ten years and saw her on stage and in real life. JB was lucky to have her and their son. She truly loved and cared for him. Did they have fights? Sure, what relationship doesn’t. If you ever have the privilege to see her perform live take it. She will blow the roof off with her voice and her presence.

James Brown's wife calls herself the Godmother of Soul now. I remember years ago seeing her as a Janis Joplin impersonator. A lot of the elders were Disturbed that she would sing this type of song at a funeral service. I was trying to tell my mom her and James used to perform this song on stage together. She was trying to do a part about Janice in a film but it never panned out.

Lol yep he found his drug partner tommi rae in vegas! She is absolutely gross I helped her detox off pills so she could go to the Premier of his film and not look drugged out! Took 7 days I watched her ungrateful jerk kid the whole time. He would say is she sick from the pills again. Yep babe from the pills again
