hi James.. just letting you know that around this time you had two little boys named Michael and Prince and that watching your every move and they ended up becoming two of the biggest stars in the world .. thanks for inspiring the next generation.. i mean you sort created hiphop in a way as well 🔥🙏🏽 really appreciate you
Michael Jackson was a huge star by this point and was a year away from recording Off the Wall. You'd have to go back 10 years to when he was perhaps watching James Brown's every move. Prince was not in the same league as MJ or JB.
💫✨ James Brown had natural metronomic abilities in his 🧠 mind and rhythmic 🥁 syncopation in his feet, 👣 bringing it all 2gthr on a funky 🎚️ level of intensity and precision! 🕺🏾💃🏽 Thk U 4 the 🆙Load. 💫✨
...James Brown was approximately 44 years old at this time 1977 having been born in 1933...dong the splits looking good with that mustache and soul patch which only he could pull off..and look great. Other entertainers at the age were reaching "over the hill"; except the Mighty James Brown.
Damn, this performance must of been a blow for JB. He was starting to become irrelevant with a newer generation and its really evident looking at how bored the audience looked most of the time. Sad sight to see honestly. But, I guarantee someone in the audience today brags about seeing JB live "that one time." Lolz
Why did the number one soul brother have to make this white audience get up and dance. The funky sound of James Brown Band should have made them jumped to their feet without Mr. Brown saying a word!!
I heard JB (RIP) was hard to play for, I'm not taking anything away from anyone who played with him, But in older videos all the Brothers are getting down in the horn section. Dancing, back up vocals. The White dudes, not so much.
@@modernretroradio993 hey there-soo you might be right my friend-BUT consider this just for the fun(k) of it--- and I know what I am talkin about- I was BERNIE and Judi WORRELL's lawyer and Bootsie liked me when we schmoozed- so I respectfully submit/TESTIFY- First-that performance is NOT from 1977 --it is from 1974--Wolfman Jack says so in the clip etc...which make a big difference..and Secondly - as we would say in 1974---that guitarist in the back--'He Sho'Nuff looks like Bootsie !" So I am about sixty-nine(69%) percent sure it's him ..What do you think?...Hey if you want to see something good (and Bootsie certified)..watch an SNL performance of 'Funky Kingston" with Bootsie Toots Maytal and the Roots...good stuff...let me know you got this....best JS
