Can't someone at the David Letterman communications building at BSU run this tape through a Dolby system or some other filter or mixer, and clean up the inferior sound on this video?

Who ever was running the mixer didn't know how trim/pad the channel input so it didn't overdrive the microphone signal (going into the mixer) and cause distortion in the sound.

For years I was entertained by Burke's Connection series. His excellent grammar I also appreciate; many other RU-vid presenters fail in this respect. One disappointment I have with Burke is that he is not a dissenter of the propaganda we hear daily from the mass media.

That part at the end about the astronauts .... they were/are fundamentally pilots, and pilots *love* checklists. Also, the technical "troubleshooting" type of thinking is not something everyone knows how to practice, so it will be strange to them.

No. Wikipedia grew a bit more organically, at least at first. The Knowledge Web never really took off. It may have been that Burke didn't fully employ the power of peer to peer collaboration. The idea is pretty genius, though.
