As someone who studied art and worked with paint, its so weird how much this makeup reminds me of straight up acrylic paint, it even drys up mat

My mom works in product safety and transport (for dishsoap but also like body soap and stuff), the seal not being on properly is a major safety concern. Do not use these products on your eyes or mouth! I think they could be kind of safe to use on your body (not the face) but even then proceed with caution and do a patch test! The product in itself could be expired depending on how long they've been made before shipping out since they were already open before they even got to you. And even if someone would try to argue that "maybe the seals came off during transport because of rough handling" that shouldn't happen and wouldn't happen with almost every order. To me it looks like the seal was just stuck on like a sticker, which isn't the correct way to seal something off obviously lol

This is...lowkey unacceptable for how much time he allegedly spent developing this. Nothing should have been missed. Top to bottom, formula to packaging to shipping should have been accounted for. 🤡

The actual tubes look so cheap. Like I don’t want them to be the most expensive ever because… duh, but the plastic looks lightweight and like it doesn’t have enough to be actually replicating a paint tube. I’m a painter; there are plastic tubes that will decrease and not pull in air. I’ve used Glossier’s cloud paints- they slowly lose body and don’t pull in air. These look like these will pull in air.

It really does still baffle me how this man is not only not locked up.. but actually has enough supporters for him to feel like he has a consumer base to release makeup

As a person who actually paints, it is giving the same look as when you paint and you have little dried specks stuck to the brush or in the paint itself, just from having it too long and it slightly drying, you get little dries paint spots within the liquid product. Now paint is one thing but this happening in a makeup product is just embarrassing but makes sense since they were not sealed properly at all

To me, the fact that he doesn’t put any care into it is yet another sign of his entitlement. It gives “people will still buy and support, I don’t have to go above and beyond for anyone”

As an artist that uses acrylic paints sometimes, these tubes literally behave like mid-cheap acrylic paints ngl. Like almost plain white tube, spillage everywhere and the quality of the product being mid is just...yeah 4 years in the making on my dry-ass brushes man. Idk, for 15 dollars a tube. If I buy liquid blush for MUA Academy and the stuff costs 3 euros, I'm fine with the seal coming of and stuff, but not from a $15 face paint from someone who claims they put effort in it. Idk, also supporting this dude is not gonna happen in this life time, not from me anyway.

I saw someone say their tubes were only about half full, which makes me think - bc of Angelika’s experience with them being too full - there’s NO consistency in the amount being put into the tubes between batches.

I believe the adhesive is the problem with the tubes. It’s just. Odd. That tells me they didn’t randomly select completed product and check to see if the seal actually worked. Glossier never had this issue (to this degree) with the cloud paints. I’ve never had that type of issue with even a fine art paint; there should be more care in these paints seeing as they go on your face.

From the moment I heard about this I just thought it was a rip off of About-Face by Halsey and this just confirmed it to me. Only difference is the products seem like utter shite whereas every About-Face product I’ve tried is incredible and I use most of them daily

Even art supplies have better packaging and seals than these Painted create paint tubes. If James wanted to be relatable, maybe he should've tried eco friendly packaging instead of the flimsy polythene bags. Also, the red pigments.....it can give people awful stains and hives.

I use oil paints, and those tubes are notorious for having the seal pop off when you squeze the tube too hard. That will also happen with those lids since they have a small screw thread, so the product only has to travel a small distance. HOWEVER. At least that makes sense for oil paint since the paint is thick and artist usually store them with care because they know about it. None of this applies to make up tho?! It's thinner, you usually put it in a drawer with lots of other things, it can expire (you put it on your face for heaven's sake..). Don't get me wrong, I love the art supply look in theory, but that is so unpractical... and for that price..

Why would you not choose metal tube packaging if you’re going the “acrylic paint” route??? Those seals would have been way better

James launches a makeup line while Tati who had the BEST influencer makeup line ever and had to close it through no fault of her own. The world is so unfair.

Why didn’t he put these in lipgloss type tubes with an applicator or a small pot of the paint. The packaging is the first problem that I can’t believe even made it past just the thought of it… a squeeze tube for such a pigmented product is a mess waiting to happen, and misuse of product.

I’ve gotten makeup from Kim Chi (Drag Queen) a few times and it comes in a sturdy box, with tissue paper, stickers and a card (first one I got had my name on it)…and I believe she is an independent brand. Pre Pandemic it had tissue paper with her logo on it and the tape, on the box, had her logo on it. All the product boxes are gorgeous, inside and out, and the blush is in a heart compact. They think about every detail…down to the sticker that seals the product boxes

The bits that are in the product remind me of when you get ink out for printmaking. You have to work the ink to blend it together again and pick out pieces like that. Obviously you can't work the product because it's in the tube. And it also makes me a bit concerned about how well the product will hold up now that it's open.

If you want something that is the same idea but higher quality get the matte fluid eye paints by about face beauty! Same price but you get an applicator, less mess and by a better person

thoes crusty bits look exactly like when acrylic paint dyes around the tube and gets mixed it. That would make sense cause they were unsealed so a layer dried and then u push the wet product through and the little dried buts get in. it’s prob to late for anyone to see this and someone might have said it but oh well

i haven't been following the james shenanigans supeerrr closely but it still beats me how he's still allowed to get revenue and exposure after the things he's been up to... the list of things u can buy with that money instead of his products just goes on 💀😂

I feel like the lil bits in the pink might be because air could come in the tube dried out a layer and when u squeezed it out it mixed in the wet part. Paints can do that too sometimes if you let it dry the slightest bit.

I find it so disgusting that renowned influencers and even people I would consider "trustworthy" support a predator's business so freely and with such a lack of empathy. They know the facts, they have the evidence in front of their faces and yet they continue to feed him and maintain his luxuries and the worst of all? he still manages to keep screwing up everything somehow 🙃

Morphy and Jeffree Star helped him alot with these types of problems especially shipping. But since he's now independent, I think he's trying to save money and it's a mess.

I love bases with color, I use them with eyeshadow toppers, but these ones are so bad :/ Mostly because of the packaging. I highly recommend the P Louise bases, they are the best.

Not to be picky and ik different products get sealed differently BUT as an avid painter, I've had my fair share of opening paint tubes. They never open that easily, in fact it takes me time to peel them open or to use a point to punch a hole in it. Idk 🤷🏽‍♀️

No, i disagree, you could have spoken about the existing reviews and not given him, a self proclaimed predator, your money and given it to a micro youtuber instead, while also profiting off of your review of it. to be fair about the plastic bags honey thats how makeup is delivered especially where i work at Sephora . everything is in plastic bags cheap plastic usually ripped ziploc almost half the time if we receive 7 of the shade 6 will be in plastic and the 7th would be in a different or rubber banded to something else

I ordered a Sisters Colorblock sweatshirt for my Daughter 3 years ago from James Charles and got no shipping updates - it took 6 WEEKS to arrive.

why does the packaging look like an ebay package? even madebymitchel makes the packaging different. also i think barrym have paint tube kinda thing and released it way way sooner (probably as a dupe for this stuff). it's not sanitary for these products to not be sealed properly. i'm thinking the pressure is the main reason it's leaking but that's no excuse. no way are there so many issues for a brand trying to push through being cancelled. at least it looks pigmented 😅

i don’t expect good shipping just because it costs a lot if it’s something from the US; it’s always going to be expensive, or with makeup you might be able to get it from a uk distributor of a brand but you’ll pay more than someone buying it directly in the US

I honestly would not put that in my face, if non makeup person saw that they would say it's either gouache, watercolor, acrylic or maybe another type of paint used in art, even worse if it's not probably sealed. I would stay away.

They remind me of those super cheap acrylic paints, but slightly thicker. The way these Paints dry down is just like the acrylic paint my mom bought me as a young kid and I would purposefully spread it on my hands and arms lol. Like dry and crackly lol

Speaking of Nikkie Tutorials, she promoted a scammy brand called Hidden Cosmetics back in February. Unfortunately the brand covers their tracks on their IG pretty well by deleting all the “where’s my order, it’s been 6+ months” comments, I followed them for 2 years before noticing something was wrong. Glad I never ordered, the reality is that most customers never receive their orders and two of my friends ordered over 1-2 years ago just to be blocked and never get their products or their money back. There are a couple videos of people on RU-vid who had to basically blow up their socials for months on end just to get something sent out, it’s so messed up! Nikkie was warned on her video by some of her followers who either had been scammed or knew someone who went through that with this brand, but those comments were drowned out by all the “ooh so pretty” comments. After a few weeks, people started telling her they were scammed by the brand because of her! Like it’s so irresponsible to promote a brand you haven’t vetted, because if she just checked their trustpilot before making the video, she would’ve seen the hundreds (if not thousands) of reviews where people were screwed over. Ugh I’m so irritated about it. I wish someone would talk about this to a bigger audience! I’ve done the research and have made a couple videos, but I need someone with a good sized platform to discuss it! I just don’t wanna see anyone else get hurt by these scammy losers. And I wish these giant influencers with 18 million subs would be careful about who they promote to their huge audiences! If any makeup lovers see this, please help me spread the word! ❤
