One thing I still can’t understand with this… was why did Youthforia go tonight Dubai to do street castings??? I’m not saying that there aren’t deep skinned people living in Dubai, but looking at the ethnic breakdown of Dubai the percentage of expatriates from nations within the African, currently living/working in Dubai is considered low enough that they don’t seem to publish the statistics… No joke they would have been more likely to track down an expatriate models of South Sudanese, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Congolese (DRC), and Ugandan heritages if they had Stayed in the USA. If they actually wanted to do a street casting that would have given them a more accurate representation… they should have gone to one of those countries (but I get the impression there’s another potentially… sus reason they did not).

Gods I wish people would go to ACTUAL dentists. I have actual need for veneers (multiple missing teeth) and I'm only 28. If you cannot afford to go to a licensed dentist, PLEASE PLEASE seek out your local dentistry school. The dental school girl is legitimately true; they WILL help you. They did a wisdom tooth removal for my ex partner. Please also avoid aspen dental if youre in the US. It is apparently NOTORIOUSLY difficult to get insurance to cover your shit. Your teeth are SO important. I'm so so so serious. 28 years old and missing FIVE teeth (genetics and some dental malpractice.)
Never go to LaserAway. I heard Ideal Image is basically the same, but I cannot speak on them. A couple months ago I wanted to get coolsculpting. If you don't know what that is, it's a procedure where they put these suction cup machines on your stomach and they bring the temperature down really low for 35 minutes freezing the fat and killing it which is supposed to help you lose weight. I had been thinking about this procedure and looking into it for a couple years and had got a quote from them before, but didn't go with it because it was super expensive. They ended up saving my number and reached out to me. A year later, saying they had a fifty percent off deal running. The way they get you set up is a person reaches out to which I assumed was a nurse. It was not, they are salespeople strictly salespeople. Just like in the video, they use all the hip saying "girlie, you're a perfect candidate for this procedure". They have you send in pictures and just by that, they give you a quote and how many treatments you're going to need to achieve what you're looking for. They quoted me on two treatments, but said one would probably give you the results you're looking for. Once I got to the office, I didn't see any doctors. It was all supposed nurses, but I didn't ask their qualifications. They really didn't do much other than take pictures and got me set up for the procedure. I did have multiple people in the office. Come up to be trying to sell me other products including some sort of facial. I had not even done my first procedure and they were trying to upsell me on other things. I was a little concerned because I didn't think there was anything wrong with my face, so I was a little embarrassed and started thinking. What's wrong with my face that I need this procedure. The coolsculpting Hurt so immensely bad that is one of the worst pains i've ever felt. When I voiced my concerns, they acted as if I was being irrational. You have to sit through several thirty five minute sessions of this. I was able to tough it out for 2 different days. You're supposed to see results over 3 to 6 months as the fat dies. I took multiple pictures throughout the whole process and didn't see any results. It's as if nothing happened at all. I even kept track of my weight and never saw my weight go down and never saw any reduction in the fat. Voiced my concerns. And they had me come back in for a follow-up visit. And the nurse said that they probably use the wrong size applicators and place them incorrectly so she took pictures of where they should have been placed and was supposed to send it up to corporate. After I called back several times not hearing anything about what was going on and they never called me back. It finally got up to corporate, and some corporate woman called me back and explained that there was nothing they were going to do for me. They quoted me two treatments. You have to read the fine print. Basically claiming no fault of their own. I asked why the nurse said that they were placed innorrectly. She basically called me a liar and said that the nurse never said that. I explained why would I have a second treatment if I saw no results from the first one? Why would the second treatment all of a sudden give me all the results I'm looking for. Furthermore, I said you told me I was a perfect candidate. She said you have to read the fine print. Sometimes this procedure just doesn't work on people. In the paperwork they give you the sign it basically says we cannot guarantee results. It's so funny that their website and the nurses will tell you something completely different. I told them I would be making complaints with the Better Business Bureau and making a TikTok video to explain my horrible results. I have also noticed that they have paid a lot of influencers to gt this procedure done and the influencers obviously can't say anything bad about the procedure but you can tell all of them really didn't see any results either. I have since done more research and gone to a reputable place which I did have to spend a little bit more money than going to these cheaper places. The experience was completely different at the reputable place. I actually could feel like the machine did something after the fact. I was feeling side effects as is something happened. When I went to LaserAway after the procedure I didn't feel like anything was done. My body felt completely fine. Going to the new place I got the exact results that I was looking for. These places like LaserAway are not a medical office. They are more of a med spa. I cannot speak to any of their other procedures they do, but they are really scammy. I wouldn't trust them with anything. Just like the girl in the video I was scammed out of money. I don't know why they're machines don't work if they're using faulty equipment and just collecting a check. All I can say is stay away from LaseAway!!!
As an esthetician, this stuff makes me SO mad. I've seen so so many people neglecting their clients' health just for a paycheck. This industry is wildly unregulated, and it is scary. ALWAYS do research into anyone/any company before you get a procedure done. If you go somewhere and you feel uneasy, don't go through with it.
as a certified nail tech the whole "if its fine on your nails its fine on your eyes" stance is insane to me. its not even fine on your nails, exposure to UV light does increase the chance of skin cancer and every time UV gel touches your actual skin there's a risk of developing a permanent sensitivity to basically half the polymers used in your skincare, medical devices, clothes, just about everything. the only reason it's fine on your nails is that the nail plate is non-living tissue that doesn't absorb ingredients the same way living tissue like your skin does. NOT TRUE for your eyelids which is one of the places with the thinnest skin on your body, not to mention exposing your eyeballs to UV light? absolutely insane, you couldn't pay me to put myself through that
I absolutely loathe how whenever those "injector techs" are called out for performing life threatening procedures their come back is always something along the lines of "y'all just hate to see a woman being successful", "y'all just hating bc you hate so see a black woman winning" like no girl. I think social media has really normalized cosmetic surgery for average people. Now instead of changing your hair and makeup to "camoflauge" the imperfection, people are resorting to cosmetic surgery way too soon.

At first I was like okay the box was damaged but as long as the product isnt...and then I heard you said shipping was $19 and I was like oh HELL fkn nah. That's extortion and they not even providing bare minimum shipping standards for all that. You could literally get a full nother product with $19. More if it's drug store makeup. Deadass the other day I went to order some nail tips directly from a brand's website and the shipping was more than the total for the items I was buying and I was like nope

It's so sad you could go for a simple procedure and end up battling serious medical conditions because of unlicensed practitioners

I work with uv leds for my job (for water disinfection) but uv really isn’t something to play with. We have to wear safety glasses, cover our skin, and last week someone still got a sunburn from testing. Let’s not play with that, especially not by the eyes
When I was a kid i had to get oral surgery and braces cause my teeth were really bad like two teeth were practically sideways. I can not imagine having all of that done at some randoms persons house
Please know the red flags to look out for when having any beauty treatments done. Whether it be lashes, nails, facials.. anything! Real damage can be done and it can lead to lifelong issues that impact other treatments (for example 2-HEMA is not only used in Gel nail products, it’s also used in the medical fields which means if you develop an allergy to it, you may not be able to seek medical help if needed x) 😢
We desperately need some kind of regulatory agency that can investigate and prosecute these DIY “techs.” Since these people have no license or regulatory agency they have to report to, it seems the only action victims can take is to file a lawsuit which rarely results in consequences because if the tech being sued has no money, the victim will never receive their restitution. These people deserve jail time yet the police and DA seem unable and/or unwilling to investigate/prosecute.
Horrible skin match, did NOT have that coverage like they show, it’s a medium to light coverage def not full! I asked for refund, never gave it to me. Cancelled the sun the day it arrived and then they still sent it to me again and charged me! Had to take both charges off with Visa. Horrible, fake advertising. I’m glad some mentioned who that actress was, I couldn’t recall and I lived the office 🤦♀️ But that’s the only place I seen her and she wasn’t a main character.
When i got the mini controversy and conspiracy palettes, both of them had hairs in them. The shades in the conspiracy palette that had hairs and fibers in it, was the trisha shade, the black shade, and the pink pig shade. The trisha shade had a hair with follicle attached, and the other 2 had either blonde fibers or hairs. The mini controversy palette had a fiber in the blue shade, and a flake of something that couldve just been compact eyeshadow, but it felt like plastic. I reached out to them with my videos and photos, and they gave me a partial refund. I was shocked that it didnt seem to happen to others because of how bad my palettes were. That was the first time i had ever found anything in my makeup, and i havent had it happen since🤷♀️
I hate their ads, they always use heavy filters. I always get their ad for their primer that supposedly fills in all lines and wrinkles, but ill never believe them since they NEVER show their products unfiltered. Ive never seen a single ad from them that wasnt ridiculously filtered

Dude, 10 years ago when I wanted to get into gel and acrylic nails, it was SO HARD to find/buy products without a cosmetology license or proof me actually being a trained nail tech. Now people are getting lip filler pens off Amazon. I’m just shocked that we’re even having this issue in the first place. Scary!
I'm so glad I never got into any of these procedures. I'm a nurse and I just question how all these procedures are gonna play out as the years go on. I see more bad than good. They've already proven that filler never fully goes away. They have done multiple MRI scans on people and they can see filler still visible years and years after they've been injected. So I wonder how that will affect them as years go on.
This is so terrifying. Are medspas different from dermspas? Because I only go to dermspas. The place I get my facials at is connected to my dermatologist's office and has access to my records. I never got injectables and never will, but those are all done by registered nurses. Even for my hydrafacials my esthetician checked my records and made sure that accutane was out of my system. I wanted the lip perk hydrafacial and she would say no without hesitation if my lips looked like they had even the smallest amount of inflammation to them. Even when living in South Korea I only received facials from dermspas, connected to the doctors. I thought I was being safe but damn. I don't plan on switching to spas anytime soon but this is a good reminder to do extra research before picking a place. I can't imagine what these girls are dealing with. It's so heartbreaking and frustrating.
im glad I checked the reviews. Ive really used up alot of my makeup and basically have nothing and was looking to rebuild a bit of my collection and I for sure was looking at Patrick ta, but since my makeup tends to get used over a long period of time, I know this wouldn't be a good fit for me. Genuinely very gross, im surprised it's still being sold.
im sorry but putting a uv lamp up in my eye even if it is the "correct" type just doesnt seem safe either way. Its not like you can get new eyes if something goes wrong.
