James Currie talks about life after Sorted 

That feeling of leaping out of a dream job to test yourself is crazy, bravo to James and kudos to the Sorted for keeping the incredible friendship bond feel of a company, balancing profit and corporate bullshit with actually being mates is insane. The proof is if Sorted stopped being these core people it would struggle, which is a compliment!

James always felt like his personality rounded out the team, very grounded person, hated to see him go but its always great to see someone stretch their wings.

James talking about Kush was really lovely. Very respectful and heartfelt. Truly happy that he’s happy - he’s got a beautiful soul.

I'm so happy to see this conversation made available for everyone. One of the joys of the live show was seeing James and Kush working together - there seems to be such a positive energy between them in addition to their individual brilliance. It was a real pleasure to find out more about how James got where he is, and what he's doing now, and I loved what he had to say about Kush. Full marks to Jamie and Mike for letting the conversation grow organically - it was indeed "a really lovely chat".

the amount of genuine love and excitement the sorted fanbase (myself included) has when we see james is incredible, its like having the family whole again and i hope he keeps coming back because we are always happy to see him!

I’m normally skip episode where influencers/youtubers talk about themselves , but I had to watch because I miss James and his calm demeanor, glad to know more about James and the Sorted crew!

Holy shit James is literally the most late-millennial tech-adjacent small business successful guy! Went to school for computer science, pivoted to culinary arts, joined a RU-vid channel for cooking, ended up doing tech stuff, also did recipe development, pivoted to on-screen talent, went on to high-end restaurant cooking! Ignoring any past or current pay things (because I don't know and it isn't something that is any of my business), James has had an bonkers success story for this sort of thing that could reasonably be turned into a sponsorship from platforms for advertising!

As an introvert myself, i really like what James said regarding how he was still able to do a job that required more of a big personality.

When James left I was absolutely gutted and selfishly really mad and didn't want him to go. Now having heard him talk more about why and how it was actually best for everyone I feel so bad! Sorry James we all love you and I'm really happy he's doing so well!

James always came across to me as grounded, calm and honest. he just really seems like a stellar bloke. The whole sorted team seem like super rad guys. Theyve never let their huge success of sorted change them for the worse. i just think its fantastic that after so many years of doing what they do, theyre all still good mates and good blokes.

Finding out James loves video games and wanted to be a video game developer came as a huge shock, honestly.

When my niece Grace was three years old, her dad picked her up. She put her little hand on his cheek and said “I love you Daddy, you’re SUCH a good boy!” It was the highest praise she could think of. So now in my family, we say “__is SUCH a good boy!” and it’s the best compliment. After watching this video, I would like to say that all of you are “SUCH good boys!” ❤

This is a BRILLIANT episode - admittedly I wasn’t taken by the concept of the podcast when it first started, but I think it’s brilliant, and this episode in particular was really interesting. It’s been great to see James, catch up on what he’s been up to and learn about his journey to Sorted! Of course James, you are missed! I was as devastated as everyone else with the news when it came out, and it’s great to see you when you pop up! Kush is ALSO a great personality in the team! I can so relate to James about cooking at uni - if you’re introverted, being forced into an environment with strangers in shared spaces is such a nightmare. I didn’t cook a single meal there. I would love to see what an hour of food conversation between Kush and James would look like. Not to say Ben wouldn’t contribute to it as well, but I feel like the approach those two take to food is so intriguing that it’s bound to go into interesting directions.

I like James so much, bc he seems so humble and has the same doubts as all of us have at some point in our careers, but he went for it, to prove himself just for him. This is so courageous. This is very inspiring to hear as a 35 years old person.

this has been one of the best interviews and one i have been waiting for. i love finding out not only is james shy but also a gamer. i hope that in the future you all do some cooking games like plateup or overcooked together just to see how ben and james work in a virtual kitchen, or maybe cooking food from games, esp. as more niche cookbooks based on games and anime have become popular.

James is and will always be a beloved part of the Sorted family, and this episode made me so happy. It is wonderful that he is able to come in for live shows and video shoots when he can (and win showdown after showdown, the champion, the GOAT, etc) while doing other things he is passionate sbout, as well!! Freelancing, travelling, and still finding time to come have a laugh here is amazing and I am so thankful he still wants to say hi. We (the audience) all adore him, and I can tell you all do, too. I love what sorted started as, and is, and what you all bring and have contributed over the years. I have been watching since 2015 or so, and don't comment much, but you bring a lot of joy to my life and this really struck me today. The love you have for each other, the candor, the stories and memories you shared, y'all are the best and i just wanted you to know that.

It was so sweet at the end when James suggested cooking breakfast. I had paused and started this podcast throughout the weekend and finished it up when I was making myself a french toast with some jam and it was just kind of a nice moment across time and space. Thanks for all the work you guys put into the show over the years and for sharing those moments with us!

James talking about 'doing his part' for parties/gatherings in the kitchen, and talking in smaller groups while being an introvert is pretty great to hear! Not a chef, but I've done plenty of parties and events where it's WAY more comfortable for me to be in the kitchen (even pro kitchens at times) talking while 'working' than 'actually' socialising. ...not that it's not socialising...just in a different way than most would expect...and it's PERFECT for me!

I loved to hear James and Kush are good friends. I wondered if they were adversarial. I know that gets views but I'm glad behind the scenes they are friends.

I'm not a chef or in cooking as a profession even vaguely, but James' answer about best meal and it being solo cooking for friends with them just popping in and out to chat is 100% the same for me. I love just working on finishing up a dish or getting something slow cooking going while friends or family are visiting and just being a snarky person yelling comments from the kitchen or having one or two people chatting and then moving out while I also have chunks of time to concentrate or just chill in more quiet surroundings.
