I disagree, I followed his all his fights ever since he lost to Geroge Groves. I think Degale has over achieved due to good management. He is an all rounder boxing, nothing special.
sometimes as a prizefighter you need that cocky arrogance I realize degales not everyone's cup of tea but theirs no denying he's one of the most improved fighters in the world and a loyal guy he's been with his trainer from the beginning that speaks volumes about his character.
Very good quality upload! Degale clearly won, the person who didnt know a lot about boxing thought bute won or a least a draw, argued against a loss cause and decided to delete his post eventually :) Degale is very slick and showed tremendous class by making a first defence of his title in bute's backyard.
Lucian's championship days may be behind him, but he can still make a good fight. He still has heart. A terrific effort by both fighters. Not a bad fight at all.
ye as long as he's taking steroids then he can continue to keep making good fights. thought it was fishy how well conditioned he looked in both this fight and badou jacks even before it was announced but he definitely lost both judges fucked up on scoring jacks fight he was robbed that victory

First time I have seen this fight. Man, very entertaining fight. And while Bute never really appears to be out of the fight at all, James won fair and square, by some rounds my in my knownothing opinion. Pretty gutsy also, of Degale, the rough tactics used in front of ref Wright and in Bute's hometown
The crowd cheering after the 5th? It looked like Bute was doing something cause Degale was picking him off on the back foot but I bet no judge gave that round to Bute.
I remember watching this fight on Sky. The US commentators give Degale much more credit than whoever it was on Sky. DeGale never really got a lot of praise from UK commentators. This was a good performance in Bute's home city and a very good fight.
Bute looked very up for it and fought well, but I think the Crowd made is feel closer than it was, fairly clear UD for Degale, but Bute proved he is still a good fighter.
I had it 4 to 2 after 6 but different rounds than Farhood. Minute to minute it was competitive but smart choices where to work made this 4 to 8 rounds for DeGale.
I had it 116-112 in favour of James DeGale. Great effort from Bute though, considering he was already clearly past his prime and he faced someone who was in his (and also a better boxer).

+B-Rai87 He's building one heck of a resume. I like his mindset; He seems to be looking for good fights, not just cherry picks to preserve his belt. He recently mentioned Stevenson at 175 and Golovkin at 168.
I don't even like DeGale but I had him winning the first 8 rounds. Great performance from him. Really landed all the quality punches in the fight and dictated the pace.
Degale is just a exciting fighter....I was at the Jack fight in January. Thought it was a draw tho I understand people's questioning of that decision....jack landed such harder thudding shots. Live you heard jack connect but degale was busier. Hope he comes back to Brooklyn or at least a new fight within this year. His sis is a babe, off topic.

This comment section isn't going to tell the story on the fight as most who are making comments are Bute fans. They're the ones who will come back and watch it and comment the most. Also, the reason to why Bute performed better than he had in the past against Degale and the fight before that with Di Luisa was down to the juice he was caught with. Before the Di Luisa fight he was shot. He'd been mentally damaged by Froch. But all of a sudden he's performing closer to his best. I did think it was suspicious. Well, now we know what it was.

When I fighter hits one shot and the other back's down I thinck he win's tge round, in this fight when Degale hits one serie of 5 shots and only 3 are clear, and then back's down for entire round I thinck he lost the round😉 it's the same thing like paquiao vs mahwheter when manny paquiao and much more claimed that he won the fight because Maywhetear had too much no-kombat moments, 😉. He didn't deserved to win, he was favourite by the referees. Boxing is like this. All Romanians fighters I know at one point they been scammed. Good job English people I hope your island shink in the sea along with u English Scottish and Welsh!

Bute needs to avoid British fighters at the moment, Froch dismantled him like he was nothing, Degale out boxed him, out worked him. I've always said Bute was over rated.
Eric George I'm not sure how he became so feared, looking at his record, yeah he's alright but no where near kessler,froch, tayler and these were not elites them self.
Eric George Well I'm a huge Froch fan, but Ward was/is Elite and he really out classed Froch, they could have fought 100 times and he'd have lost 100 times to Ward. This is not elite to me, the elite are the top men/man in the division, Froch was great but he was a shade of elite for me.
