In the Manga they are actually married and with a kid from what I heard, and while I can't really see them as a couple and prefer the platonic family relationship they have (they seem a bit like brother and sister at least for me) I also have to admit that them being married is actually really cute.

Obvious you never read the Manga...do your research. James gets Jessie pregnant in the end. It has been proven on several times James is a coward to girls, it doesn't make him gay. I know many guys that are too scared to ask a girl out. My boyfriend love Jessie but in reality he'd be too scared to ask her out because she's hot! As for that phrase about going straight, it was a innocent one because I see many straight people on T.V use this line to mean ending a life of crime.

Its not hard to guess James is gay... 1) when dressing up he always plays a woman 2) he won't marry Jessabell 3) he has a vary female demeanor And like someone posted its not referring to being gay its to not being a criminal And to the one who said children's cartoon characters have no sexuality that's Sociobiology wrong there is a strong urge by misty to be with ash and in most anime there are sexual content and forms in them.

Dude, he was talking about times like that make him want to be a good guy. Or at least on the right side of the law. Though there have been times in which I have questioned his sexuality, this is not one of them. Besides, he's straight. Obviously it's a childrens show and you would think the people involved wouldn't put a gay joke in the show, but still, the uploader has a point
He meant that he wants to be good, but the people who translate it into English were poking fun at him for cross dressing and acting gay, so they used a double meaning sentence. I have to admit though, it's pretty funny ;)
