James Gunn's NEW SUPERMAN David Corenswet is the PERFECT Choice! 

Henry is 6ft at most. Mamoa is 6ft 4, and he’s at least 3-4 inches taller when standing next together. David is in fact about 6ft 4in tall though.

At the end of the day, it's never an actors fault that someone else was dropped from the role. Cavil will have plenty of excellent opportunities over the next couple of decades. Corenswet certainly looks the part and I'm sure between him and Gunn, they will make something worthy.

It's not that David Corenswet looks like Henry Cavill it's that they both look like Superman, that's the mark of some solid casting right there. Honestly the biggest problem is that I'm not sure as to whether or not there's any actual appetite for this movie or universe right now. Plus with rumours of Matt Reeves building out a completely separate universe for 'The Batman' it seems that WB doesn't have a great deal of confidence in Gunn's DCU and is already lining up a replacement. WB/DC has chewed up and spat out a lot of people at this point and that Superman curse still seems to be active so it'll be interesting to see how this turns out.

Y’all stay wanting to say someone is not your *insert character* until it is time to be seated in the theatre and they do an amazing job at portraying a character. This has happened too many times that you need to get a grip on it.

There's no off brand, cavill,corenswet, reeves,even Smallville tom all look alike BECAUSE THEY ALL LOOK LIKE SUPERMAN, that's why hey were all chosen to play superman. Superman has a specific look and they all fit it

I honestly never got the hype with Cavill. He’s fine? In his defense he was never given very good material to work with but I’m totally fine with a reboot. Lol

I'm willing to give the new Superman a chance. He kinda looks like the modern comic book versions of Superman at least in the face. Plus if the guy can act really good; I think that would be important. I also like who James Gunn chose for Lois. I wanna see a trailer and then I can really form a final opinion. I’ll miss Henry Cavill as Superman but I’m glad and relieved about who they cast as the two new leads.😃 Erica Durance holds a special place in my heart as my all-time favorite Lois Lane 💙❤️💛 but I’m super excited to see Rachel Brosnahan in the part.😃 I’m optimistic about the new movie. I’ve not seen any of James Gunn’s past work BUT he’s seen ALL of the things that have gone wrong with Superman films ever since Superman III. My guess is that he’ll avoid all of those errors so that the new film is a success. Also totally fine that we won’t see his origin story again. Leaves more time for the new story, character development, backstory on a supervillain.😃 Maybe we’ll see his origin story in the upcoming Supergirl movie since both of their ships were launched 🚀 just before the planet exploded.

I remember when Henry Cavill was casted everyone was on the fence about that. But now everyone loves him. James Gunn is fairly good at casting his lead roles, I'm really not super worried.

Henry is 6 foot maybe 6'1... Affleck 6'4 and Momoa 6'5. Corenswet is the perfect size for Supes, and we gotta get it thru our heads that Henry and David were cast because they both look like Superman... I think it's pure Coincidence that they look so much alike. But I'm definitely happy with the casting so far. Gunn is doing a hell of a job so far. I can't wait to see Legacy.

I'm cautiously optimistic for this new version of Superman and the DCU at large it's unfortunate Henry Cavill didn't have a competent script or a competent studio behind him but it is what it is unfortunately hope this Superman gets back to the more optimistic roots of the character and at least so far that's what Gunn said he intends to do.

If u go look at some of David’s scenes, he’s straight up a more capable actor in terms of feeling believable, charming, and loose. Especially for the character of Clark Kent, Henry’s Clark was mid both on paper and on screen.

I like Henry Cavill and Man of Steel but his Superman never developed into anything. Henry Cavill's Superman was depressing and getting up in age. David is already more approachable based on his look alone. I believe David will be the best Superman yet.

At first I thought "but that guy isn't even famous!" While Pearl was AMAZING, he didn't stand out, but tbf nobody could steal the shine of Mia Goth. Then I realized I didn't really know who Cavill was before Man of Steel so I'm totally on board now. I think I'm just too used to Batman actors already being famous when cast. It's weird how all the Batman roles are given to actors who have already MADE it while the role of Superman MAKES the actors.

the only thing i have to complain about the casting of both Lois Lane and Superman/Clark Kent, apart from Henry Cavill being let go, is the fact that they didn't cast Lois Lane until after they found their superman. The reason I say this is because I know when other love interests for comic book movies were cast like the original Superman film, and Raimi's spider-man movie, they both cast their heroes first, and then cast the love interest partially based on the chemistry the girls auditioning for Mary Jane and Lois Lane, in both films respectfully. And to both film's credit, it worked to help create a great story, and the chemistry shined through in each film. I think part of the problem with both the last solo superman movies is that the chemistry between Lois and Superman was non existent, which makes the story seem weak. One of the key essential elements to a superman story is his relationship with Lois Lane. She's one of his personal connections to humanity apart from his family that raised him. The fact that they didn't cast their hero first, and then audition for Lois afterwards, does have me a bit concerned, but I'm willing to give it a chance.

I think that James Gunn has only been given characters that can only work with his type of humor and vision. Superman is not GOTG nor The Suicide Squad, but I think this is a good chance to see Superman how he's supposed to be. Loved Cavil, but I always thought that MOS was not the Superman I grew up with. I sincerely hope that we leave the "dark and real" stuff for those who need it and bring a more light and fantastic feel to this new start to the character. Love the cast pics 🙏🏽

I like the actress who was picked to play Lois Lane. I like her in the Marvelous Mrs Maisel. The guy who was picked for Superman/Clark Kent I never heard of him but I say he has the look. And I always prefer a guy I never heard before to play my heroes in movies.

I don't have a problem with casting a new person, my issue is it seems they just keep "restarting" each franchise over and over and over instead of just expanding the story with a new cast member. How many origin stories do we need?

They are obviously recasting with relatively unknown cheap actors to cut costs and maybe have a chance to make these movies profitable.. these companies are starting to understand that they need to manage these completely out of control budgets .. a movie with 300 mil budget and 150 martketing needs to make like 900 mil just to break even .. its just not viable anymore

The problem isn't David Corenswet. The problem isn't Henry Cavill. The problem isn't Amy Adams. The problem isn't Rachel Brosnahan. The actors are definitively NOT the problem. They're all beautiful people and Henry and Amy did their best with the material they were given and I'm sure David and Rachel will do their best when the time comes. The problem is behind the camera. The problem is that WB doesn't have anything resembling a plan for live action versions of their DC comics characters. This has been the problem really since The Dark Knight. What it seems like is that WB doesn't know what they want, only what they don't want. They wanted to make Marvel Studios type money without understanding why that worked (and it seems like Marvel itself is forgetting how that worked, so that's a thing). Maybe James Gunn finally will add some vision and structure to what they're doing, but right now it still seems like they have the exact same problems. That's my two cents.

People are burnt out on superhero movies. They used to be a special thing with selective cinematic releases of certain properties,but it's oversaturation at this point. No one looks at these movies as a 'big deal' anymore

I refuse to give this a chance because of Gunn going about this whole thing all wrong AND disrespectful to the fans who were overjoyed that Henry was getting his chance to finally play the character in the traditional way. He SHOULD have at least made one more movie to reset the universe using the previous cast. Give them and their fans the chance to see them go out with a bang and respectfully. If we can have two Batman’s at once, we can still give Henry his own solo older Superman movie. Why can’t we have BOTH??? The answer is we CAN, but they simply choose not to do it.
