James is becoming such a tender man. I look up to him a lot. People act like him being super rich makes his disease easier to deal with. Actually, quite the opposite. He can do whatever he wants whenever he wants and that can lend itself to his disease in such a detrimental way. he reminds me a lot of my dad in his old age. Letting people in because all that shelling up did, was make it harder to communicate. I love how James isn’t this well spoken, extrovert like Lars, but his lyrics are profound. “SMILE AS IT BURNS TO THE GROUND, THE PERFECT DONT WANT YOU AROUND, QUESTION YOURSELF YOU MAY LEARN, YOU ARE THE WITCH YOU MUST BURN, YOU MUST BURN! “
You can tell they worked together well and best of all, you can tell they had FUN on this album!! The riffs on this album are awesome and James's vocals are the best of his entire career imo! I'm absolutely in love with this album, I would rate it a 9.5 out of 10! 72 Seasons tops Death Magnetic and Hardwired for me, and that's saying a lot because I freaking love those albums! They knocked it out of the park with this album!! 🤘🤘🤙🤙
When they write their last album they know it’s going to be their last , I believe something truly special is going to happen more so than any previous album … they’re gonna put into it something mind boggling good
That's how writing music should be. If you don't collaborate with them it's basically a solo act with hired musicians. I hate when bands don't write as a unit. Quality is always better when everybody puts their flavor in.
Inamorata was a good song choice to end the album. The raw emotion from James, the harmonized guitars, the solo James plays at the end, really a dark, deep cut to the album. It kind of goes against what he is saying here about the group mentality, but that's okay. These days I find James is really the #1 bet when no one else interferes.
@Fister of Muppets totally love the song, when I lost my Dad 3 years ago I was stuck in misery and took me a while to find my way out, this song reminds me of that horrible place I was in 😢 and the middle and end part just reminds me of finding my way out and learning to live again, absolute beautiful and emotional totally felt james emotion and heart ache though out this song don't know where I would be without Metallicas music 🤟.
just like to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Metallica, your music is really helping me prepare myself for some future health challenges a head, due an open heart opp in the next 2 years you guys are the saviour of my mind most of the time. thank you Metallica,, Big love guys hope to see you in the UK one day soon x
Room of mirrors is perfect modern metal song. great songwriting with lots of surprises, not predictable at all. its like shorter version of spit out the bone. I wish double bass part was longer.
No inverted pentagram but the right way up is really cool. Kinda like he's getting his head the right way up. I dont want to be in a room with Lars on my own lmao
I think by allowing the other 2 in on this album they made far better songs, Hardwired had maybe 3 good ones on it out of 16, this record on the other hand seems great overall.
I’ve heard the new album and it’s not quite as fast as the last album was but I feel James is singing almost like he did in the earlier albums and it’s awsome
All I heard was; "We collectively picked up the phone, dialled the number and proceeded to phone it in".... I'm out on this one, see you in another 6 years if you're still up for it.
@@MogulMonk1 I think the biggest problems are that most of the songs overstay their welcome, there aren't many standout choruses, and there isn't really a great deal of variety either. It's one of those albums where everything just kind of runs together and very few of the songs are catchy enough to have you subconsciously start playing them back in your head a day or two later. At least that's how it's been for me. I don't think it's terrible by any means, but I do think it's unquestionably one of the weakest, most forgettable albums they've ever made.
Did he ask Lenny Kravitz if it was ok to use his"Are you gonna go my way"main melody riff line for Metallica-inamorata song? Not even into Kravitz music but working in a shop in the 80s-90s lot of you know that radio Rock station is on all day. It came to mind the second i heard it in the Metallica song, He took a part only but the main melody too, Not the first time Hetfield,, Sorry kids and fanbois
See this is what I’m talking about. I love the idea of what he saying about everyone contributes but the problem with that is that Metallica is Metallica because Lars and James wrote the songs James wrote the music and Lars arranged it simple formula you stay away from that it just doesn’t work as well and if the next album they put out he’s probably gonna be there last they should do an old-school the way the day they used to write and just write a fucking thrash record. I want every songs that sound like fucking spit out the bone
thy were never full on thrash band. never. Their influences are NWOBHM , Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, Corrosion of Conformity, Thin Lizzy, Misfits, Lynyrd Skynyrd and all those influences are present on latest album.
