It's not often that James May has any spare time, but when he does get some, he likes to sit on a park bench. We found him at his favourite spot and asked him a few questions. As expected, he was as interesting as ever - expect to learn something about James May in the next six minutes!

I once visited a girl I went to camp with who lived in Hammersmith, a couple blocks down from James Mays house(which I was unaware of at the time) and as a prank she literally gave me the address to his house. I showed up at James' door as some stupid Californian with a bigass suitcase who had jet-lag beyond belief and he was just like "I think you've got the wrong address love" as I just stood there said nothing. My friend nearly peed her pants when I told her the story. There's not really a point other than she's an asshole but James May seems like a super cool guy.

I mean this serious.. It should be Sir James May, Sir Jeremy Clarkson and Sir Richard Hammond. They have meant so much to England and are so loved all round the world. I don't know about Mr. May, but my list would be as follows,1. Lancias Fulvia, and B24 Spider2. A Proper GTO Ferrari, not a F12 or 812 with a body kit3. A Proper Toyota MR2, not a spyder, or a hybrid.4. A modern Fiat X1/9 which is not a venture between Fiat and somebody else.5. A Jaguar sedan that looks like a Jaguar sedan, no Ian Callum Bullshit6. Triumph Stag.7. Sunbeam Alpine/Tiger8. A proper BMW 507 and M1, no i8 and z8 bullshit.9. A proper Maserati Ghilbi, not that horrid sedan.10. Another great hyper car from Jaguar period.11. Nash Metropolitan12. Toyota Sports 800

I had a 86 mini a 71 VW beetle and a 84 and 86 Suzuki jimny. The Suzuki is the most purist machine I ever drove. The simplicity, capability, reliability and is awfull pain to drive by any modern comfort standard. I love it.

James, I've watched pretty much all of your videos over the years and for me, the Honda FCX Clarity video is the best one. The last minute or so where you talk about how the Clarity "is the car of the future because its just like the car of today" is fantastic.

He is absolutely right, it's the Beatle, or the original German name: Kaefer. In Germany we said, you only know how to drive a car if you know how to drive a Kaefer. Very difficult gearbox, very reactive, super light, and inviting to way overdoing it. I absolutely loved my mum's one. And although that wasn't his full point, I so respect May, because he really gets the essence and spirit of it.

Tell us a little about the Bugatti Veron that you drove at over 400km/hr. . The entire video clip is a masterpiece of visual effects, sound, editing etc. The technical difficulty of taking a car over the 400km/hr barrier, from developing engine power, through tyre management to the actual drive process. . I believe this is one of your masterpieces in your own profession.

@oddities-whatnot

Virality Factor I had two Celerios, although not at the same time. Just needed a cheap car at the tine and they do have a lot of character. Solid little car, extremely reliable, so basic nothing to go wrong. Also has one of THE best manual gearboxes ever, and plenty car reviewers have said this apparently. Try one and see, its a premium shift, it really is !
