@@IronFanJoe Arguably the best one was Johnny Knoxville on the first Jackass Movie. He had a Boxing Fight against a professional Heavyweight Boxer in a Department Store and was knocked out cold after two Hits. During Treatment, he then asked if the Professional survived the Fight.
this part honestly made my jaw drop, honestly. came here to find a clip of it in HD as its so hard to skip back a bit on prime video for me, honestly quite shocking to witness.
I watched it last night & thought , this has to be staged , BUT no it was bad, I am glad to see that James was okay, it was a big hit & the side of the Evo really took the brunt of the impact.
Yeah, I've seen them do a lot of stupid shit in the last decade or two, but never anything that crossed the line into suicidal. This changed today. What they did here was idiotic beyond repair, and they should be called out for it.
@@GeoStreber I agree, it could have been alot worse. I thought it was staged at first but the damage to the Evo and to James just proved they went to far.
The lack of safety equipment used on this stunt is surprising. Especially a helmet with some cervical spine support. I’m also really surprised they didn’t have a C-collar on him after the accident.
Thats up there as one massive accident, so glad to see James May up and running, that could have been fatal, just one thing before i go, Crash Helmets!
Arguably his neck and back injury that he complained about would've been much worse with a helmet, when you start wearing a helmet, you really need a harness and HANS device.
@@Gobbbbb It wouldn't. Helmets in stock seat belts is fine. The stock 3 point seat belt is designed to allow both the torso and head to move together in a crash. I doubt HANS would even work with a 3 point seat belt.
I'm going to bet Hammond, despite all the mishaps he's had in the past, might have been game to try it for real even after James' crash (with a little more sense obviously). But unfortunately, the crash means any insurance coverage they have will be out the window if he did it for real too.
It was, especially for a man whos nickname is Captain Slow! Glad he's ok as it wouldn't be the same without Mr May. Please susbcribe and thanks for watching!
Hammond might have had the most fatal accidents, but it was May who's been injured the most in their tours. Near amnesiac concussion in Syria, broken ribs in Argentina (was it Chile?), pummeled bollocks in Myanmar, this one and etc etc.
“After James was carted off to the hospital, there was only one thing left to do.” Go to the hospital with him right? *cuts to Richard hammond about to drive through the tunnel*
I must say these three will go down as the best group in history. Wont forget what those two did when bbc kicked out jeremy. Thats rare specially in show business
Was the safety guy of duty this week he usually goes overboard on the safety gear haha! Fair play to you Mr May slower car and did it's as fast as Clarky! 👏👏
True when I saw Jeremy's run I just thought you have no braking point reference at all you don't really know how much space you still have left how do they not misjudge it? It's probably a miricale that Jeremy didn't crash it too...
@@EAGYSLThere's a very clear and explicit braking point reference on the floor of the tunnel. They had lights indicating exactly where to brake - James just didn't see/follow the lights.
I imagine watching a guy race down a tight, not continuously lit tunnel, in a sports car, is quite frustrating for an ambulance driver, especially when they bin it at the end...
People don't often think about how violent even a relatively low speed crash is. He can't have been doing more than 15 or 20 mph when he hit that wall and it nearly scrambled his brains. I saw this and literally yelped, this has to be one of the dumbest things they've ever done. No helmet, no HANS, no side air bags, side collision on driver's side....literally everything done wrong.
I bumped my truck into a stationary tree at -0 mph and was surprised at how much of a jolt it was. (In case no one is curious, I was seeing if I could gently rest the bumper on the tree, which was dead, and did not see that it had a lean towards me. It crunched the grill a little bit.)
@@buillioncubesI watched a police video where they simulate a 5mph crash to high school kids using a sliding chair on a slope. I've also been rear-ended while I was at a dead stop and the kid hydroplaned into me at 10mph. My head bounced against my headrest and was a little shell shocked until he rolled into me for a 2nd bump and my head bounced off my headrest again. My head and neck were in pain for the next 2 days despite not feeling anything from when it occurred. Car crashes are not fun under any capacity.
@@TheyCallMeMrMaybe There are crash test videos for my truck on youtube conducted at 35 mph. My truck is a 1977 toyota pickup. I don't want to find out what happens at 65+ mph. Wtf, the kid had to come back for seconds?
i feel like jeremy clarkson actually cares, james asks him if the evo is ok, and clarkson replies with, "you wont drive it out of here" meaning that he literally couldnt drive it no matter the cars condition because of his current condition so he should care about himself more right now
