Why is everyone comparing Mick to Jim? The combination of their sounds make up Slipknot. All 9 of the members, (RIP Paul Gray), is what makes them sound so amazing.
Dual guitarists have always been compared to each other, stop acting like it’s a new thing. Educate yourself to what drives men to become better, it’s called “competition”. It’s why women are always in the background, they don’t care about that like we do. Hence the term “pissing contest”, men will compete over ANYTHING!
Well, Jim's got a lot of great technique on him. He uses a lot of legato techniques, which is pretty hard to do when you pull solos like he does. He's an awesome guitar player, period.
I was like that when I started. I was faster than my friends, could pull off harmonics and things unlike my friends, but when I actually learned and practiced scales, my solos and improv. work excelled. Scales in my opinion are mandatory to be a good guitarist.
i love and start playing Fender Stratocaster.....Fender Telecaster and Fender Jazzmaster because of him.....i like the sound especially in Riff and Rhythm......I Love you so much Jim😘🤗
James Root is such a good guitarist :D hes awesome! he is my big idol (together with Corey Taylor) and that warm up riff is realy helpfull i do it too :)
yes, one of the forerunners to REAL metal/shred guitarists. He was doing things that people like Kirk Hammett could never do. He was down to earth, loved to play, shredded like crazy, and was one of the best guitarists to grace the guitar world R.I.P.
Where can I get that guitar??? Soon i'll buy Fender Telecaster Jim Root signed. but up until now i've only seen the black on white and the white on black version. Where can i find the complete black Version??? please help, it would be very kind.
What's the scale he's using as the first alternate picking warm-up at 1:00? I don't really know shit about scales but I'm trying to get better & need to learn a cool sounding one.
James is a pretty talented guy. I met him after a Stone Sour show in 2010, he's really cool and laid back too. It's a little crazy to think that he backs Mick up a lot of the time.
Mick is known for extremely fast and accurate picking as well as killer rhythm, Jim can probably solo better but he has nothing on Mick's rhythm playing, check out the video of Mick playing Gematria.
Este mejor guitarrista del mundo!!!! no me jodas...no niego que no sea bueno....pero la distancia entre lo que toca el con la majestuosidad de Steve Vai es abismal...en serio. Cristina abandonalo!!!!!
okay. So i looked on line and a shit load of ppl say when speed picking, tense up and use ur arm... on the other hand i have my teacher whos been playing 40 plus years saying, stay loose its all in the wrist. confused i of course resort to the slipknot players, and to me it looks like he is using his wrist, and any movement in his arm is from his wrist. Can someone pleas clarify how its done... i need more than one opinion. I would be very greatful:)
