I totally agree it's New Zealand, read one comment saying we sheep if we say it New Zealand, well I say you a sheep if call this country aotearoa you are following a trend of some New Zealander, this country official name is NEW ZEALAND not maori name for the north island.
I agree.....Imagine if we all united and stood strong and supported each other to stop paying taxes as a protest to government incompetance stealing our money and losing it or squandering it. millions of people making a stand would certainly make them sit up, listen, make changes and be accountable and good stewards of our hard earned money.
I noticed on the 25/06/2024 my redgo expired on the 24/06/2024 so went online to update my rego for another 12 months only to find I couldn't because no reminder # but had received no reminder notice by either mail or email so had to then drive to the nearest still Maori named NZTA to do it physically and was offered no apology and basically looked at as though it was my fault, give it a maori name and instantly they play the fking victim for their incompetentce
What about the 500 million lost to the cancelled contract for new stock of ferries. Plus any penalty incurred. Tax money down the drain that could have built a hospital somewhere. This is nuts..🙈🙉🙊

The main problem with state owned and operated utilities is that there’s NO accountability for anyone and especially when things turn to shit . It’s that age old attitude of, “well it’s not my money it’s taxpayers money ,so who cares “ Until that behaviour and attitude is punished not much will improve in this regard.
An email was sent around within kiwi rail when National was elected saying “ things will change under National and to stop spending”. This attitude sucks. I’m tired of careless reckless government spending. We work hard and pay taxes and should be treated with greater respect!

Lets see. The Chch city council spent millions on some words from Auckland so they could stick them on a flower show. After driving a perfectly good privately run flower show out of business first of course. Auckland spent many millions on a ghost cycle bridge. Why are we surprised an unelected govt bureaucrat would waste millions on an unresearched electronic ghost?
There is a problem with the government getting out of the ferries. This happened with our rail service. Toll took it over, ran it into the ground and then wanted to ditch it because it was not making any money. The Government brought it back at a ridiculous sum of money, because the government was worried our rail would get sold off to some other secondary company and destroyed further. Toll walked away laughing. Now we have Kiwi rail and we are back at the start of the same stupid circle.
Taking a photo on your phone of your license would be as good if not better than the waka app .A s legally valid as the app that cost 5?million .Muppets Brain dead would be A fair discription of these people
If the government is incompetent & can't run the ferries, how can they then be competent enough to run a country.. but no surprise, just put it on the list with failing services.. health, education, infrastructure, corrections, police, courts etc..
I do not understand the ferry arguments. when is someone going to mention the impact on ticket price when they spend $3B on the ferries. From my crude numbers; there is a $200M per year cost of ownership and there are about 100,000 passengers per year (that is about $2000 per passenger). if the ticket price goes up substantially, who the hell will use the service? next question what costs are bluebridge carrying?
James Ross's analogy ( near the end of this interview) of the ferry that ran aground only having 8 passengers on it , so therefore inferring selling the ferries might be difficult is very misleading. The Aratere is a freight only vessel. It has a small number of truck drivers onboard that travel with their trucks. He should have known this , or maybe he just conveniently forgot. Not that I think the govt should be looking at selling the ferries as this is an extension of State highway 1. It should not be for sale.
government ownership of vital services is null and void because if the police need your car, they can legally take it and use it if justifiable, same goes for a ferry
