@@phillipmanning4995 One of my top 10 bands of all time, seen em live many times, which takes them to an whole new level. 2001 Manchester early December was an exceptional concert. Sound Live is 11mins long. I think The Cure live has to be one of the best bands live imo though. Watch them at Glasto 2019 :) (well any live Cure concert for that matter)
Me and my mates in South Yorkshire have been listening to James from the beginning always loved them lost Meany off them now and always remember the good times when listen to this song don't know why because sometimes was our favourite god bless brothers ❤️❤️❤️
The bass is fairly simple but amazing for how it is so integral to the song. I've been playing bass since the 60's and he is like I always wanted to be. Give me the power and thump over all of the modern funk and slap.
Jesus Christ they are good. No, Great. No Amazing. I've heard this song literally thousands of times recorded and live and on hearing this version on here it still makes the hairs on the back of my neck and on my arms stand up. Shivers, Man!
I love what they've done with Sound live, the slow, then fast pace, the lows and highs. It's always been an epic song and deserves an epic rendition on stage
I met my wife about 20 years ago who thought she knew everything about rock as she grew up with a famous rocker dad and then I introduced her to James. She got it.
I discovered em back in 1988 when I was 25, off to watch him again next wk at the o2 in London 40 yrs they have been around top top band , gf loves him after taking her ro see him 2yrs ago at kenwood house .
Es primera vez que veo y escucho esta maravillosa banda y me encantó. Nunca es tarde para ampliar el gusto del género del rock. Todo lo que he visto y escuchando ya se quedó conmigo. Felicitaciones
Ape, your father's sins Your mother's mood swings To perfection Fall, into a spin Shed another skin Strip away all your protection Laugh at the wonder of it all Laugh so loud you break the fall And you see the gathering clouds Cry at the sadness of the world Cry so long you break its cold And you hear the gathering sounds Do, everything you fear In this there's power Fear is not to be afraid of Laugh at the wonder of it all Laugh so loud you break your fall And you hear the gathering sounds Come, dip on in Leave your bones, leave your skin Leave your past, leave your craft Leave your suffering heart Come, dip on in Leave your bones, leave your skin Leave your past, leave your craft Leave your suffering heart
I followed James/tim booth for since forever. Unfortunately left by ambulance three songs in, at the Liverpool Waterfront, with a suspected stroke.. Well looking forward to the next gig .. Cos I feel a little cheated. Left by ambulance n Tim Saying" hope everyone is alright out there and no one got hurt" x
Best live version of this song ever. This version needs to be performed in the last ever James live show. They need to go out having a proper party style blast. I doubt it would happen but i have the perfect 5 song encore for how i would like to see the last James show end.
JAMES KINGS OF THE MUSICAL NOTE EVEN GOD WOULD NOD AND SWAY TO THIS TUNE I LOVE THIS BAND DEEPLY PS I AM A FREE SPIRIT FULL BLOWN AND FREE TUNES AGREE XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
James was so good in their simplicity and poignancy - And I am an old school guy - saw the Beatles live old school and love so many bands but they are at the top.
Hands down (for me anyway) the best song they have penned. Whilst i prefer a lot of their earlier stuff i have to say they have written some damn fine tunes on their later albums. About time for another Bournemouth or Brixton gig please lads!
Yep, Stuart, I totally concur. My wife & I are in our 50's, we do a 3 times yearly club night in Glasgow for "people that used to go clubbing" and last year when we played 'Hymn From A Village', the place went mental!
Saw them 1988 at stirling university students union in Scotland loved them since even although they had a fight and breakup on stage and ended early due to sound problems. Wish they would return to the US where I know live for me to see them.
