Blacklist might have some increasing weaknesses, but Spader saves the show every time.

TheAmirata really ? I thought it was worse in the beginning
@panterxbeats
@panterxbeats 2 года назад
@@snow6094 it's totally subjective, but for me there's a very clear nosedive in quality the moment season 3 ends... especially when it comes to the writing. Liz as a character deserved so much better. I really liked her in the beginning, but the writers wrote her into out of character stupidity for the sake of drama... and we all know what came out of that. I'm not saying that the general idea of Liz ending up where she did in the show and the conflict with Red was a bad idea, it was just so horribly written IMO. This is coming from someone who sympathized with her for most of the show, but her gullibility with ""Katarina"" was the last straw for me.
@alexanderthegreat5649
@alexanderthegreat5649 9 месяцев назад
@PanthersTunes Absolutely couldn't agree more! My legit final straw as far as the "mystery of Red" was the "real Raymond Reddington is bones, and this is Ilya but not actually Ilya" i actually got so confused I had to read those plot points to comprehend it. Just watching the show it gets more and more confusing.

I always feel kind of bad for James Spader when seeing him in interviews, (even when he was very young), because he is so intelligent (and emotionally intelligent), and he has so much INTEGRITY, that it seems like very few people who are interviewing him don't do him justice, and he is so gracious about it. I'm not putting the people who have interviewed him down, it just seems like very few interviewers can match him, he is so deep, and so down to earth and just, real. Even the interview he did when he was, I think 20, he was so BEYOND HIS YEARS, he was like a 70 year old man in a 20 year old body - he was obviously raised very well, by parents who were very sure of themselves. Also, I see the same New England qualities that I admire in my husband and his family who lived in the same general area of Massachusetts and have a long family history there.

Spader is very underrated as one of the most excellent of actors. His projects excel because of him. From Stargate, and crash to blacklist and Ultron. Blacklist is wonderful, great writers, great concept great execution. I recall a couple of scenes that reminded me of his Boston Legal rants.

I just found Blacklist. It's not normally my type of show but omggg I've stayed up all night watching, I just can't tear myself away from this series.. James Spader absolutely makes the show but the cast is great also. I love the relationship between Reddington and Dembe. I haven't checked to see if there is a Season 8 coming out.. I'm praying there is. This is absolutely one of my all time favorite series!

I think it's really cool the way he approaches acting more as a job than as this very romanticized lifestyle, I think it's more realistic to how most people do this kind of work and also it obviously helps him maintain a healthier mindset about acting in general.

this is actually a great interview when Spader is concerned. you created the perfect balance between helping James move along because this is a radio interview where you can't have people listening to 5 second gaps in between each word and actually understanding where he's coming from to correctly respond to whatever he is talking about. great job & thank you.

I first heard of him when Sex, Lies, and Videotape came out (yes, I'm old). He was brilliant in that. But my favorite role of his was Alan Shore. I loved the way he played him in the final season of The Practice, with a fairly serious approach to the character. But I was just as impressed by the way he was able to make it work in Boston Legal, which was a silly show with a much lighter tone. The fact that he could flourish in such different circumstances, and make Alan Shore consistent across two such different shows was (and still is) really impressive

I've been binge watching Blacklist and watching interviews with the cast and Spader. None of these interviewers get into the concepts that the show is built on nor how this role as RRsquared relates to Spader's other roles. Take the power reversal of having the FBI work for the Confidential Informant, upending the convention. You can't blame the interviewee(s) for not discouraging fawning , softball questions but you can blame interviewers for not asking insightful challenging questions. The premise of the show is that the #1 guy on the FBI's most wanted list basically commandeers the FBI for his own purposes. It's a premise that has generated 10 seasons of the show. The word "anarchistic" comes to mind. Any thoughts?
