I just hate that Barbara Walters why doesn't she shut up and let Mr Spader speak! He is so interesting and engages in conversation and I bet easy to talk to and listen to. Love you James Spader!
I have a different take on Barbara than most people nowadays. I think she respects James and was only trying to get to the point in his limited 8-minute segment. Once he clarified that his dinner with Candice and Mike was going to tie in with her question, she allowed him to finish his point.
Shut up Barbara! Let him speak! A) it's rude, B) James is the kind of guest who tells really long intricate stories that I could listen to all day, and C) Ugh that voice of his! He is so smart and well spoken! I am so surprised that he is a high-school dropout. I know that's prejudiced, but I can't help it, he sounds like someone who went to a prestigious university.
It was not just any high school. A very elite boarding school, which probably has 10 times the education quality of an average university. Plus his parents were teachers there. So he really didn't need more education.
Spader's statements on "culture" are right-on, insightful, and very intelligent. We have so much in common, yet we often see things differently based on individual experiences.
Thank you very much for posting this. I enjoyed the interview except when Barbara Walters interrupted him and was rude as hell to him. He looks phenomenal.
Wow I didn't appreciate how truly stupid everyone on The View is until I watched this. Mr. Spader is literally having to explain to Joy Behar that the character in the play is just a character and not the opinion of the actor or the playwright.
Sitting on a giant couch like that is so awkward. The guest is forced to look to the left and then to the right. I hate trying to have a conversation with someone like that. Why not allow the guest to actually face the person that's asking questions? If you must have frickin couches, why not have multiple couches and chairs? It looks silly with 6 people sitting right beside each other on one couch.
On Barbara: (I don't know her name, the woman to James' right) It's how it works guys. His delectable mind and apropos opinions are not going to formulate not be allowed on a scripted, executive-manipulated tv show based on (wouldn't you know it) ratings, and extra pay-offs dependent on interrupting and stunning guests. You want to hear from James? Meet him.
What the heck is wrong with Barbara Walters?! She kept rudely interrupting Mr.Spader and it totally put me off. I was so annoyed with her unacceptable behavior. If not forMr. Spader, I would've turned of the video! It reminded me of my teenage daughter who would act like that when she was bored and wanted to leave wherever we might be visiting. GAH!
Is the fact that we are programed to be on different sides, from very ealy on in our lives, it that not the reason, in place of the mentioned different wavelenghts, perhaps it benefits persons inpower to propagate such divisions in order to play the races off one another. As well as, sexual bias, ageism and classes of wealth or proverty and all the levels in between. It comes down on the fact that JUSTICE should be blind, but as we see in our world, justice is bought and paid for. Great Play
I agree with Zebluque...she told him she loved him and he completely disregarded it. Must have really hacked her off. I know body language and she felt left out. How immature.
Im kind of sad because when i look at Jean Claude van Damme who is the same age. im like damn... if only james worked out he'd still look just as good. i mean he looks fine but damn... he'd probably still have his hair to. :(
