@Al Sousa Agreed! Their status in USA is woeful, people aren't sure who they are - except the fans. At the NYC Webster Hall "limited audience" concert I was up front and center under Saul and TB. Have to say, compared to large arena concerts like this video shows, the small venue and intimacy with the audience make james a really unique band.

Your so right James are amazing and the energy Tim booth projects is infectious.

as a band they want themselves to keep it underrated actually

'actually'Jose Alvarez I was referring to the general public's perception of James and not want the band wanted,once over they said they would never'sell-out'(as they put it)-seems to me that they would like a bigger following these days.also they certainly have been underrated and largely ignored by the music industry/media/public throughout their career,FACT.

Jose Alvarez I just saw them in NYC at Webster Hall, I live close by, and as a live act they remind me of early-mid 60s groups, they have that "sound" it doesn't age or date, it just hangs on. Tim Booth said he'd be happy to expand the audience, regardless of wanting to be "quiet" in the business-side of payola in music. They need a bigger American audience, and being one I agree.

In the late 80’s I was mad on pet shop boys until I went to college and a friend of mine used to play stutter and strip mine in his car James changed my taste in music completely for the better definitely

Brandi Price I just saw them in NYC, Tim says they lose money when they play NY and they really want to do a US tour but there's not enough American enthusiasm for james. I can't figure out why not!! This band is incredible, best music I've heard in decades.

Catherine Rapicano I tweeted Tim & asked him to come to New Zealand, he said they would never have enough money to come that far. Shame, as to me they are the greatest band about & have been for the past 20 years

The_Budmaster Seems they're not reaping in the money they deserve, from what a close photog-friend of theirs told me. Yet when you see crowds like this...and when they're on tour, places like Portugal, Greece, etc., love them. At least they bring in the crowds, so what's the problem here? Who knows...

Craig Cullen It's good but not my favourite. I said I went off them after that album as in I wasn't fussed about some of the stuff I heard after this point and up to their most recent stuff. I have since bought La Petite Mort (mixed feelings), The Morning After (The Night Before - the double album release) which I again had mixed feelings about and the best out of the three for me, Hey Ma, which I'd say was very good overall.
