They said in the vid that the insults do get to them. As a boxer myself I would never insult my sparring partners, you should take it as a learning experience and gain everything you can from it. To throw insults is an act of weakness, just like smiling when you take a big shot. Some people think you have to be a thug to be a boxer but that's not true, you should show respect to your fellow boxers otherwise your just a brute who has no honor and disregards the unwritten rules of boxing.
Toney was far from weak n if your not mentally tough inside tht ring your ass is grassed n yea I definitely have experience inside tht ring n I talk shit myself, it brings out a level of competitiveness if not both of us then atleast myself but a lot of ppl just soft in reality, words are words James said himself he tryna help them find their craft so they’ll be ok
@kruiser001 I know you are a boxer, but are you James Toney? Seriously, man. Guys been boxing since 88 and is still doing his thing. Middle, Super Middle, Light Heavy, Heavyweight champ. Fought 80+ fights, only lost 6 of them; never KO'ed. If someone like Marvin Hagler was trash talking his sparring partners would you dog him out? This is boxing; a full contact sport. Like one guy said on here, if you can't take a little bit of insulting and trash talking find a new job.
I love Toney. He will bring out the warrior in any fighter with that verbal abuse. If you're weak it would probably make you mad, but that's just James being James. You gotta let people be who and what they are.
@osbornehunter I know what your saying but I feel you should respect the people you fight because if they all refused to spar him then what would he do for partners? I just feel there's no need for it because it's against the rules of boxing and that makes him a cheat.
@kruiser001, I am sure that Toney's sparring partners enjoy to train with one of the greatest. They know him and probably don't take insults personally.
@kruiser001 well he talks that way to them cuz he can and their probly getting paid and they are sparring a legend. if they whined and spit on the floor they would probly be asked to leave for being a cry baby, i wouldn't take it personally seems like more of a mind game.

@TheGILBERTnetwork Yeah is true but he doesn't train to to use his leg correctly. It is not accurate. So their is a good chance for me. I'm not just saying this as youtube warrior that stupid shit. I train every part of my body like Bruce Lee had said.

@TheGILBERTnetwork not bodyparts it's different forms of fighting. Toney will easily win if Couture tries to stand with him. But Couture will not do that. He will shoot for the double leg and put him against the cage and take'em down. If Couture could control a 290 pound guy he can control a 225-230 pound Toney. Hopefully Toney has been working on his take down defense, but there is so much you can learn in 6 months. btw if Couture fought in a boxing match he would lose. i respect both sports.
