James Valentine and the New Ernie Ball Music Man 'Valentine' Guitar 

I really respect that he didn’t wanna sell a “James Valentine” guitar, he wanted to make a new sound for people who just like it and wanna try new things

I took guitar lessons from this man years ago. The wine red Les Paul he talks about in this video is what he played when I took lessons from him. It was a Les Paul studio with gold hardware. He's an extremely nice guy and a crazy good guitar player.

Why dislikes? This guy is good player, good sound, and the guitar looks like a beauty.

Wow. With the St. Vincent and now with the Valentine, you guys are really putting out some signature guitars that could conceivably stand the test of time and remain models that keep the artist's names famous for reasons beyond their playing. (Just like Les Paul.) And that "roasted maple" neck and fretboard is simply gorgeous.

A mix between a 335 and a tele is a perfect way to describe it

All of the riffs he played are from the debut album Songs about Jane... Maybe because the new ones don't have guitar in it

Just bought one of these. The neck is phenomenal! The best neck I've ever played. The guitar is super light weight and feels fantastic strapped on. Loads of great sounds coming out of these pick ups. Got mine in trans Buttermilk - it looks so cool. An absolutely superb instrument. Highly recommended!!! 5 stars from me. REPLY

That guitar is so clean

Seven years later and I just want to congratulate James, Sterling, Dudley, and the entire EBMM team for making a modern classic, a unique yet familiar signature model that goes way beyond being a tribute to the artist. It’s the only guitar that has ever gotten the “Super Tele” concept right.

Okay, this is probably the first time I'm into someone's Signature Guitar, that is one of the most unique lpoking and sounding guitars I've ever heard in a while.

The music man lines of guitars are so underrated, between the Albert Lee Signature, St Vincent, and this guitar. Pick any of these guitars up and play them and you'll be amazed, truly outstanding stuff

I want one or two of these! For my daughter when she comes home from college and then the other for my family members in the Philippines who do play at different levels! Nag-ampo nga madayon (Praying it will come true)!

I'm not very keen on the look of it myself but GOSH how sweet does it sound. Those knob bonus features blew me away!

This seems a like a heavily modded Tele in disguise. A version with a tremolo bridge would be groovy.

My favorite guitar / does everything

Oh my god dude I can't even describe how I feel right now because it's so complex and I feel like nobody would believe me. I saw this guitar on Instagram and I have always thought that guitars are beautiful instruments and I look at them like artwork but for the first time this one caught my eye and I looked it up on RU-vid and it almost brought me to tears. I have an epiphone les Paul standard pro and I love the sound but I also love fenders single coil punchy sound so I always coil tap my LP. And then I heard this guitar and oh my god I have never felt this way I legit almost cried. It's the EXACT sound I imagined in my head and it just sounds so amazing and oh my god. My only problem is I don't have enough money but this has inspired me to set a goal for once and stop messing around with other stupid shit. This is what I want.

James Valentine is one of my favorite guitar players, and I give a ton of credit to Maroon 5 for inspiring my musicianship. I’m primarily a drummer but play a bit of guitar, and I own a Strat. James mentions here that this guitar draws inspirations from his Gibson and Telecasters. For the Tele players here, how does the Valentine guitar compare feel wise and sound wise?

I really enjoy my Valentine guitar, and the very-best aspect is that as a "signature guitar" it isn't like having a "Mark Knopfler" or a David Gilmour" because James isn't (thank the Lord!!!) all that well-known is he?.. One can say that it is a Music-Man-Valentine and this is just IT'S name and not the name of some guy.

Kinda sucks that he's in a bad that is pretty much as far from guitar as a pop act, I kinda want to hear him do a solo album of some kind.

Awesome look, love the single bridge humbucker neck... the shape... but then add coil tapping and boost circuits and I’m out. Too many features in a guitar always means it does everything but does nothing great.
