James Blunt gets ridiculed so much because of his one stellar hit but my god, he is one of the finest musicians this country has produced. I believe the record company wanted him to use autotune to correct the couple of slightly off notes on this and he flat out refused to let them as he wanted it to remain his true raw performance. Another criminally overlooked James Blunt song is No Bravery which focuses on his time in the Kosovo war - highly recommend checking that one out too.
They did only one take making this one because it was that emotionell. This song gets me every time i hear it. And the video is so unapologetic and honest and raw so it is impossible not to feel something. It really doesn't matter if you lost or have you parents alive. Because the fear of losing or the mourning of a lost parent can fit in the lyrics
I am glad his dad made it, I am in the same situation, stage 3 kidney disease, and I am not eligible for transplants because of 4 autoimmune diseases, 2 vasculitis, rheumatoid arthritis, Lupus and hypothyroidism, this song gives me comfort, heart attack, they the Takyasu Aertitis Vasculitis has gone to my brain, TAK dementia, going to the rheumatologist today
Carry You Home...please Shares one of his experiences in the army. James can fashion a song like no other composer. Rather than a performance he creates an experience and draws us into it.
You asked how they got through it. He did this video in ONE take. He also insisted that no auto tune was used so any imperfections and emotion in his voice was not hidden. Great song
Done in one take because he knew he couldnt get through it at the time xxx afterwards his dad asked him why he was so upset because he wasnt gone just yet ! beautiful xxxx
Lost my dad 20 years ago from congestive heart failure. He died at home and I was with him that day but did go home. I had a feeling I shouldn't''t. Got a call from my mom that he had passed about 2 hours after I left. I lost my mom to dementia 1 year ago and she also died at home. She died peacefully in her sleep during the night so that is a blessing.
First time I heard this (when it was originally released) I was a mess 🥲💔. I try and avoid listening but, I thought here goes and yep, I’m a mess again 🤣👍🇬🇧
Underrated artist and underappreciated for the wonderfully written and performed songs over the years. Just have to say what's up with the haters over a great introduction song in Back to Bedlam? He should stop apologizing for "Your Beautiful". The radio stations over playing it wasn't his fault. There seems to be a lot of resentment of how much the public originally loved him. Then it became sport to belittle and criticize. Seriously, what the ever loving h@ll.
I liked wiseman from 2005. . . . his dad wasn't meant to live too far past this song, he needed a kidney transplant and didn't have any suiters till more or less the last minute
Read about james military, captain at 25, he refused to take a Russian strong hold, nearly courtmarshalled for it, if he had of followed orders it would of started ww3, Nato vs Russia, he wouldn't do it. It's there I read it.
They’re British and military, stiff upper lip is how they didn’t cry. But I heard all the crew were crying, the dad was just confused and said to James something like “why are you crying I’m not dead yet”
Hello from Australia, love your reaction and love this song, it really hits home for me. This is my first time watching your channel but I'm definitely subscribing. I'm not sure if you take suggestions from the comments but I would like to introduce you to an Aussie legend, John Farnham. Listen to anything from his concert with the Melbourne symphony orchestra and he will blow your minds. Always listen to him live. Hope you guys have a good day.😊
You should check out Avi Kaplan. He was the basso profundo for Pentatonix. His solo music is amazing. He composes, sings, arranges and does most of his harmonies using his 5+ octave range. Start with Change on the Rise, When I'm a Fool live at Sunset Sound or All is Well 7 layer sessions in a church in the Netherlands alone with acoustic guitar. You can't go wrong picking any of dozens of his songs. He's an amazing human being. Humble, kind, generous loving and super multitalented. Thanks. Subscribed hoping.
Guys if you knew the Story behind this song you would not be laughing..his dad was actually dying of stage 4 kidney failure...so he decided to make this video thinking his dad was going to die...they did find a donor later and his dad is still alive...
@@dantheaiguy the joke about his nose Was the off point for me...only my opinion other people loved the reaction, nothing personal. I guess that happens on blind reactions...
I thought this was nice having a joke, in the.moment no longer my saddest song now, as Lewis Capaldi has done this with wish you the best. Won't give a spoiler alert wink wink 😂🤣❤️🤘🤘
