Sir Bacharach perhaps first introduced this young man? Regardkes.... Excellent, Excellent young man!!👏🏾👏🏾⚘🤗RIP Sir Bacharach, Sir Genius!!😪⚘🙏🏾🕊🕊✊🏾🎧🎤🎹👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Yes, that is obvious. But one thing about RU-vid is that it enables you to judge talent by listening to different artists perform the same or almost the same material, one after the other. It is one of the things I love about RU-vid.
I love his voice. It's so unique and he makes you really feel it, which is what a song should do. I have always loved Burt's music. This young guy is awesome.
Don't worry. You'll be happy again. Life has a way of moving out the old to make way for the new. You have a new life, you have important things to do. The hurt will turn to joy.
My partner left me after 6years 21years have passed and I never get tired of this song no matter who sings it . I say to myself It's better to have loved than never
This is a great version of the Bacharach/David song. There is another version by the English duo Shirley and Johnny from their 1970 album titled "This is Shirley and Johnny" released on Phillips. Worth a listen.
Burt, my darling...I've loved you since I was a teenager. You are such a magnificent talent. Thank you for everything you have done to bring us so much joy. Jamie, my heart is pounding, you are such an amazing talent and you do this song justice, great job, kid!
Very very talented young man indeed. 10+years, and I’m here, listening/watching this beautiful song of Burt Bacharach,.Jamie Cullum, w/his very special unique voice, makes it a ‘wow’! I enjoy v much. Thank you for sharing. Wish you well/healthy 🙂Have a nice day.
what an awesume young nusician and his rendition of this sprcial song is so brautiful i almost cried. may we see you on tekevision janie so our music lovers can hear the best'
I listen to this over and over again. I thinks he's English and he got one verse wrong but it was His song and he made it his own. I'm going to listen to him a few more times. Love the orchestra too.
I loved Jerry Butler version for 60 years. It was Me & my husband of 59 years song. Danced to it at 25th and 40 th anniversary....then today I heard Walker Brothers version. That did it for me . It was awesome. John Walker did a tour shortly before he died and sang it. Amazing. Burt and orchestra were amazing but sorry. ..the boy can sing but nothing extraordinary. The orchestra lifted him up. Hope he goes far. Might have been stage fright/ nerves.
In my book, Jaime Cullum can do wrong. This is another terrific version of a classic song given new life by Jaime. He's so good. He, also, has the perfect stage look and presence here. This is real class. Having said that, let's face it, there is no-one, and I mean no-one, who can even come close to Jerry Butler's orginal version. It's the ultimate. You don't believe me; just listen to it.
Ron Charles no conozco la versión original 🤔 pero ahora mismo la buscaré. Siempre escuché la de B B y me fascinó desde el comienzo. Gracias y saludos desde Chile 🇨🇱
Sorry people but this guy made this song sexy and a tear jerker. I listened to the og to see what you were saying but I still think Jamie is a cutie and love his voice and loved it better. Burt Bacharach is a genius no matter who he has singing.
Perfect! So stylish and in the Bacharach groove. Jamie Cullum is incredibly talented vocalist and musician. I saw him perform once at a private gig he did for no money for the staff Christmas party of a charity I was part of - we were all volunteers, and he turned up to do a set out of sheer kindness and generosity. He was awesome!
Scott Walker had nothing to worry about. The Walker Brothers version knocked The Rolling Stones Satisfaction out of the top spot in the British Charts.
A superb composition..goes right to the heart. I think the best version of this song is actually the two guys with the deep low voices who did it on American Idol. The musical performance and arrangement was superb as well. It was done in Vegas. Ive always liked this song from the version in the era I was from (Walker Brothers) but Ive come to totally love it with those two dudes on American Idol.Give it a listen a few times to check it out.
Jamie's version of this song is very good, of course, but Johnny Mathis had a cover of this song that he recorded on one of his albums released in the early or middle 1970's. I worked in an "easy listening" FM radio station at the time. I loved Johnny's version of this classic and played it nearly every time I was on the air. I would be ever so grateful if anyone who sees this could put up Johnny Mathis's version of "Make It Easy on Yourself." TIA
Bobby: Thanks very much for letting me know about the posting. (It's been over thirty years since I last heard Johnny Mathis version.) I spent many a weekend in that radio station playing songs like this. It was the 1970's and the station was undergoing a gradual transition from "easy listening" to Top 40. It's kind of funny recalling all the women (married and otherwise) who called requesting Barry White songs.
UM DOS MELHORES INTERPRETE. DESTA LINDA CANÇÃO. SOB A BATUTA DO GRANDE MAESTRO E COMPOSITOR BURT BACHARACH. QUE NOS LEVA A UM PASSADO QUE JAMAIS VOLTARA!
