I think because he's so private and isn't seen much, maybe he's ignored more than he should be. How he hasn't won an Oscar and/or Golden Globe is beyond me though.

You have in me someone who feels the same way. For me it’s because you’re just bombarded with information and the characters are simply mouthpieces to deliver plot information. Information is not emotion, and plot is not the same as story. The audience is not given space to feel the characters and the story behind why they do what they do
