I could watch dude skate just flat ground all day. I love to see skaters pushing the boundaries on what can be done on a skateboard. Does Jamie even have a legit board sponsor yet? He definitely deserves to have his own shoe on Nike.
90% of these tricks have been done at skateparks across the world, he is just getting recognition because he is a youtuber with a platform. No hate, he can do plenty of shit that a lot of people can't, but he isn't exactly a unicorn. Take any pro skateboarder though and lock them in a garage for 3 years and they would be landing all of this. Chris Cole did a 720 triple flip dicking around at an indoor park AGES ago. A kid I knew who was 15 in around 2010 used to do nollie merlin twists every single try at my local, rinky-dink skatepark. I've seen people do switch backfoot frontside flips before. It really isn't anything ground breaking. John Getz did a hardflip late flip down the Santa Monica triple 3 stair a while back before Jamie took it down stairs too. And John did it FIRST TRY down a legendary spot. No hate to Jamie, but people react like he is far more impressive than he really is. He can't even do any grinds or handrails or transition or big gaps either. He is a 1 trick pony, even if that 1-trick is sick. He can do nose and tailsides, but I have never seen him do something like a kickflip crook or 180 switch nosegrind. Never seen a switch grind either. Even I could do a few switch grinds lol
Griffin's street style reminds me so much of what me and my friends wished we could pull off on a skateboard on the average concrete jungle that was available to us. He's a street god in my opinion, I was blown away. Pulling off impossibles, late flips/varials, heel flips, hardflips (inside kick flips),360s, and 360 flips were hard enough...but this guy is doing tricks that didn't even exist back when we busted our ass trying the basic tricks off stair sets and ledges. Late impossibles. Crazy flips... I wouldnt even know what to call them. It's great to see how far these pros have pushed skateboarding tricks. If this guy time traveled back to the 90's and showed up at your spot, you would think he was a god after witnessing his god tier tricks. Skateboarders have progressed so much in 30 years.
The only skater I can watch where the tricks are so out of this world, that I don't know what I'm seeing half the time. Rodney Mullen was similar in that way. Legends 💯
He can hardly do grinds, nevermind hand rails. He is the master of boring garage skateboarding. Dudes like Haslam or Mullen were doing tricks that were even crazier without filming a 10 second video of each one. Go look up chris haslam flatground and watch the first few videos. He could probably land 90% of the weird tricks that Jamie does, and can probably also do dozens of tricks that Jamie couldn't imo.
it will be cool if the cameraman use his phone at the horizontal. ( this avoids a cropping/reframe which makes part of the images disappear 'ça évite un recadrage qui fait disparaitre une partie des images)) Except that, cool video, the dude is super talented, very technical)
hardflip FRONT foot flip flip sold me on his skill yo EDIT- the most ridonk shit i ever seen in my lifetime OLLIE LATE BACK FOOT IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!! game over son- time to move along- jobs done!
he kicks with so much strength and precision, mind blowing as he uses sometimes both feet to make a super double kick that will send the sk8board flying like a motherfucker
Jamie got in trouble in Ireland for skating fakie or as the Vatican call it "a most sinister abomination", they chased him out with birch branches, g'won England 👍😇🫒
Mind bending. Why oh why is this man's name not on a board. He has got to get free of Hop King and get a decent board sponsor. I wish him the best off luck .
He isn't diverse and can only skate 3-10 stairs. I don't know why people like yourself have this opinion personally, no offense. Wanna see good 20ish year old skaters? Cordano Russell, Kairi Netsuke, Braden Hoban, Sora Shirai. That is what a pro skater should look like, no disrespect to Jamie, but he REALLY is not that good. He hucks flip tricks and can control the board rotations well on flat or down an 8 stair, but that isn't what skating is all about to most people. He doesn't hit gnarly or crusty gaps, nothing tall(not even tall ledges), no grinds, no handrails, no transition, very little switch and nollie, weak manual game, etc. People wanna see big stuff that someone like Joslin or Sheckler would hit. Or techy guys like Felipe Gustavo, Shane Oneill, etc. Or those insane guys like Nyjah, Yuto, etc. There is a reason that guys like Giger, Jamie, Chris Chann, JeffWonSong, etc are not pros, they do not have diversity and don't have the same board control as those top skaters. They stick to parks and flatground(aside from Jeff, he just has ugly style), which is fine, but isn't going to make you go pro for a major company.
@173jaSon371 lol I ain't reading all that bro, I commented about Jamie Griffin on a Jamie Griffin video, and somehow you've come to the conclusion that he's the only skater I like😂 stop gatekeeping bro and just enjoy the skaters you like and let other people do the same jesus christ, you must be fun at parties lol
@@UKBrownsNFL I'm not gatekeeping, I didn't say Jamie should quit skating or what you should enjoy. You questioned why he isn't a pro and why companies don't want to sign him, I gave you a detailed answer that you don't like. You also made a plenty long enough comment yourself lmao. Also have no fuckin idea where you think I'm insinuating that Jamie is the only skater you like? I'm just naming skaters who are actually worthy of pro-status, sounds like you are just a Jamie fanboy getting upset at other peoples opinions..
@173jaSon371 You wrote 28 lines, i wrote 8, if you think those are even similar numbers then you should go redo maths at school bro😂 I wasn't questioning anything, Jamie has already been a pro skater with HopKing... all I said was you'd think more board companies would want to sign him lol. Do you understand how basic economics work? Someone with a large following = bigger market reach for a brand, I wasn't even referring to his skating but the fact he's a b2b BATB winner with a large following which you'd think board companies would jump on. Also, the contradiction of claiming you weren't saying Jamie is the only skater I like and the following it up by calling me a Jamie fanboy in the same sentence😂 you've embarrassed yourself mate, it's really not that deep, if you're this compelled to comment this shit on any pro Jamie comment you see, then you should really get some help buddy
@173jaSon371 'getting upset over other people's opinions' hahahahaha bro are you okay?? YOU replied to my comment with a fucking essay about why you don't like Jamie but I'm the one who gets upset at other people's opinions... you really are all over the shop mate, I don't care about anyone's opinion on skaters because that's THEIR opinion, I'm not the one arguing with people on RU-vid because I don't like a certain skater😂😂😂
DUDE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SOTY 2023 !!! This is way better than Miles Silvas . Don't get me wing Silvas put out a really good part but it was so generic . Jamie Griffin just bringing a completely unique and tasty flavour .
great stuff. really not liking this 3 piece screen filming thing tho. kinda hate it lol. epic skating tho. also too close or zoomed in filming sometimes. just my opinion i figured id share. feel like i could have enjoyed these tricks more if differently filmed and posted
Watch anyone with a big sponsor and you will have your answer....they are better skaters and are actual street skaters. Jamie can only do flip tricks down average sized stairs and offers nothing else on a board. He did over a dozen backside noseslides in his Slainte part and maybe 2 or 3 grinds, 1 being a fucking 5050 270 out. Watch some of the kids in street league that are around his age....I don't know tons because I've been out of skating for a bit, but check out Cordano Russell, Sora Shirai, Braden Hoban, Jagger Eaton, etc. They can skate anything. 15 stairs, 15 stair rails and hubbas. They have tons of grinds in all stances with tricks in and out of them down gnarly shit first try. Jamie has next to nothing for grinds, big gaps, tech manual tricks, switch/nollie, his 360s are awful, and he doesn't have crazy pop. He does not stand out aside from doing late and double flips, which tons of guys could do if they focused on them more. I've seen guys in BATB land tricks in 1 try that they had never even attempted before. But they would rather perfect their normal tricks to put down on gnarly gaps or in/out of grinds.
@@173jaSon371 oh i agree with you 100%. Im still suprised some sponsor hasn't taken him up though just for the fact that hes got a lot of attention and is kinda a gimmicky skater. Kinda like andy anderson. He does some werid shit but it gets people attention. And attention is often was sponors want. But i agree with what your saying, hes got shit all grinds. His Slainte part made that very apparent. His a flip trick guy and that's fine just means hes not versatile. I guess the big sponsors don't want to take on gimmicky skaters because it will just steer skating away from street skating and make it into some Weirdest tricks = best skating when we all watching it for the commitment to style and battling crazy gaps that most normal people wouldn't even look at.
