I know nothing about West Virginia, but this remides me of the place I belong. Now I'm 17 and I've been away from my family and homecountry for 10 months for study abroad. I just cried as I watched this. I miss my West Virginia.
Dont think this cover requires a studio version or anything. This video in all its essence along with her singing and the background noise together makes for one of the best covers ive ever heard. Coming back here every 6 months to listen to this from the past 8 years. God bless all
I love how the background is so quiet in the beginning, then at the end it's all the birds singing along. It's all the imperfections of this recording that make it perfect.
Almost heaven, West Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River Life is old there, older than the trees Younger than the mountains, growin' like a breeze Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads All my memories gather 'round her Miner's lady, stranger to blue water Dark and dusty, painted on the sky Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads I hear her voice in the mornin' hour, she calls me The radio reminds me of my home far away Drivin' down the road, I get a feelin' That I should've been home yesterday, yesterday Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads Take me home, down country roads Take me home, down country roads
france here, i comeback to this video each weeks at least since 4-5 years and it's always a pure happyness, also greetings to everyone who read this while listening to this masterpiece
I cried because of how beautiful this song is........ and because more young people need to know what beautiful music like this is. Greetings from a country boy on a ranch in the Western United States.
It is terrible compared to John Denver's version, if you want to listen to the real deal here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1vrEljMfXYo.html
This is by FAR the best version of this song I have ever heard, excellent voice, perfect tempo, just, perfect, sans wind and maybe some of the outdoor acoustics. If this was done in a studio where the acoustics and wind could be managed, it would be literally flawless without needing any editing beyond that.
Just come back here to remember one of the greatest gems the internet and RU-vid made visible. I'm so thankful. I could listen to her sound for days on end. Love you Jamie. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work with the world.
Amazing Cover! Today's my grandfathers birthday, this was his favorit song also played on his funeral. Got tears in my eyes if i listen to the song and your voice. Miss u so much, rip ♡
I never met my Grandpa. He passed before I was born. This was his favorite song and I sing it with my dad all the time. He lost his dad way too soon so it’s nice to share this memory with him
A horse ,a guitar, in a valley, golden long grass , sitting under a tree, smoky coffee, sun is setting and playing this alone, watching sunset from that valley. What else i need...

Beautiful song.... Jhon Denver accompanied me for years in the mountains and meadows of Southern Chile, a cowboy life very far from the United States... Today several decades have passed and I live with nostalgia those years riding in summer and winter .... Now it's my children's and grandchildren's turn, they take care of my ranch... All I have left is memories...🇨🇱🇨🇱
This one is really special Jamie. I hope you know this version of this song brings back great memories for me. Crazy to think 11 years has passed! I hope life is treating you well ❤️
Absolutely beautiful. I live in Arizona in the U.S. and this song has been a constant emotional bridge to my connection to nature. It is truly awe-inspiring. Your ingenuity with the capo is the kind of simple whole-heartedness that we in the country appreciate. A perfect capture of this song, thank you...
Went to school with your little sister. Always amazed at your voice. Still listen to this all the time 9 years later. Absolutely love my guitar and your such an inspiration gf so thankyouuuuuuuuu
Just like I said every Brazil wants people to know that they're from Brazil. NOBODY FKING CARES OK?!!!!! you're country isn't a thing you should be proud of. Because it's not great. Get it?
Did anyone noticed, in the end of the video, there were birds chirping around her, while there were none in the start of the video... Birds and animals sure do appreciate the music as much as we do... ❤️❤️❤️
Listened to this cover for the first time a couple of years ago, while I was living in Peru, my home nation. Now, far away in Canada, had the chance to listen to it again, what a nice cover for such a meaningful song. Thanks!
a beautiful tribute to the amazing john denver. amazing voice been a fan from little victory. the first song i heard from u lifted my heart higher than the sunset
This song makes me get back to that time when I lived in Iowa for a few time. Sometimes I feel I belong there, but I'm not. What an awesome days I lived! I found there I love Country music.
Yesterday RU-vid had a video of someone pulling out an ingrown hair from what looked like their pubes. Today RU-vid wants me to watch this. Why can't RU-vid get it right more often?
OMG perfectly done my dear. I've been a John Denver fan since 1973 ( yes I'm that old ) and if he was still here today he would say " You nailed it, Right on!!! "
Perfeito, você é linda, e faz a sua versão da música ser melhor do que a versão original, sua voz parece um coral angelical enfeitando a existência com cantos.
I've loved John Denver for as long as I can remember. That goes back to the early 70's. I remember where I was and what I was doing when I found he he had died, in a plane crash! What was I doing? Delivering news papers. It was my personal "Bad news on the door step" moment, right down to the type of accidental death!
