Dont think this cover requires a studio version or anything. This video in all its essence along with her singing and the background noise together makes for one of the best covers ive ever heard. Coming back here every 6 months to listen to this from the past 8 years. God bless all
I know nothing about West Virginia, but this remides me of the place I belong. Now I'm 17 and I've been away from my family and homecountry for 10 months for study abroad. I just cried as I watched this. I miss my West Virginia.
Almost heaven, West Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River Life is old there, older than the trees Younger than the mountains, growin' like a breeze Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads All my memories gather 'round her Miner's lady, stranger to blue water Dark and dusty, painted on the sky Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads I hear her voice in the mornin' hour, she calls me The radio reminds me of my home far away Drivin' down the road, I get a feelin' That I should've been home yesterday, yesterday Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads Take me home, down country roads Take me home, down country roads
france here, i comeback to this video each weeks at least since 4-5 years and it's always a pure happyness, also greetings to everyone who read this while listening to this masterpiece
I love how the background is so quiet in the beginning, then at the end it's all the birds singing along. It's all the imperfections of this recording that make it perfect.
10 years on, this is still one of my favorite covers! Jamie, I hope in the ensuing 10 years you've had great success, and that you will still casually drop in and make good videos… Another John Denver fan from Colorado!
Just come back here to remember one of the greatest gems the internet and RU-vid made visible. I'm so thankful. I could listen to her sound for days on end. Love you Jamie. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work with the world.
It is terrible compared to John Denver's version, if you want to listen to the real deal here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1vrEljMfXYo.html
I cried because of how beautiful this song is........ and because more young people need to know what beautiful music like this is. Greetings from a country boy on a ranch in the Western United States.
A horse ,a guitar, in a valley, golden long grass , sitting under a tree, smoky coffee, sun is setting and playing this alone, watching sunset from that valley. What else i need...
This one is really special Jamie. I hope you know this version of this song brings back great memories for me. Crazy to think 11 years has passed! I hope life is treating you well ❤️
Went to school with your little sister. Always amazed at your voice. Still listen to this all the time 9 years later. Absolutely love my guitar and your such an inspiration gf so thankyouuuuuuuuu
My wife’s mother died recently and I always think of her when I hear this song. I was listening to it one day and my father in law heard it and started to shed a tear. It turns out he plays this song and thinks about her too. We also live in New Zealand. Though I’m originally from Malaysia. This song has touched so many people from all over the world.
This is by FAR the best version of this song I have ever heard, excellent voice, perfect tempo, just, perfect, sans wind and maybe some of the outdoor acoustics. If this was done in a studio where the acoustics and wind could be managed, it would be literally flawless without needing any editing beyond that.

Listened to this cover for the first time a couple of years ago, while I was living in Peru, my home nation. Now, far away in Canada, had the chance to listen to it again, what a nice cover for such a meaningful song. Thanks!
Amazing Cover! Today's my grandfathers birthday, this was his favorit song also played on his funeral. Got tears in my eyes if i listen to the song and your voice. Miss u so much, rip ♡
I never met my Grandpa. He passed before I was born. This was his favorite song and I sing it with my dad all the time. He lost his dad way too soon so it’s nice to share this memory with him

OMG perfectly done my dear. I've been a John Denver fan since 1973 ( yes I'm that old ) and if he was still here today he would say " You nailed it, Right on!!! "
I've been playing this song, as well as other John Denver songs, as a professional for around since the early 1970s. I too grew up on John Denver. I want to tell you that your version actually stunned me. Your voice, your inflections, and the feeling you have for the song,. shine through. Carry on, young lady. You have the ability to create something wonderful to share with the world.
Woe you are so talented. I'd listen to this on Spotify. Your guitaring is very very good and your voice is so delicate and beautiful. The best version I have ever heard. Please do more songs.
