This song isn’t about West Virginia. It’s about all those special places that you’ve been, and nearly forgotten. Keep those wondrous places in your heart.
it's about western virginia, cuz the blue ridge mountain and shenandoah river are mostly in virginia, and only a little bit of both is in west virginia
That's what ppl not from west Virginia say to themselves in order to justify having an emotional connection to the song despite never being from the place it's about. Psychology 101. I think Frued wrote a piece about it, or was it Jung?
It's got the grit and soul of a Black man singing. This rendition isn't as clean sounding as John Denver's, so it has a kind of more down-to-earth character to it. Like you can hear through the singer's rendition his voice has some miles on them. Like he's lived a life worthy of singing the song.
@@Qwicksilver , I struggle to call it Grit... But just Appalachian Elegance. Not exclusive to "Black" or "White", but just that wild part of the country
You don't have too be an American ( let alone know anything about West Virginia) too appreciate this song. It truly is universal, and timeless. Like Dorothy said, " There's no place like Home"
I am an asian and this is one of my top 5 songs,i listen to this almost every day and,i love this song because: 1. Damn this cover is fucking amazing 2. My voice is atrocious in a high pitched songs but i also have a deep voice thats why i love this song
American here. Specifically Virginian. Funny part about this song is that it's mostly about Virginia and not west Virginia. blue ridge mountains aren't in West Virginia (to my knowledge), and shenandoah river is in Virginia. Just thought I would point it out cuz it's kinda funny.
This is hands down the greatest cover of a song, ever. The lead singer’s voice is smooth as butter, the instruments are perfectly harmonious, and the emotion this song elicits is so warm and comforting. John Denver would be smiling right now if he could hear this.
Almost heaven, West Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River Life is old there, older than the trees Younger than the mountains, growin' like a breeze Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads All my memories gather 'round her Miner's lady, stranger to blue water Dark and dusty, painted on the sky Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads I hear her voice in the mornin' hour, she calls me The radio reminds me of my home far away Drivin' down the road, I get a feelin' That I should've been home yesterday, yesterday Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads Take me home, (down) country roads Take me home, (down) country roads
The game really should have been released when it was properly finished. Now it is still really bug but it is a complete game, but the damage has been done
For when the fighting has stopped, and the fallout has settled. You must rebuild. Not just walls, not just buildings, but hearts and minds. And ultimately America itself. here in Vault 76, our future begins. この文言が大好きすぎて毎回アウトロで独り言で言ってる
Never realized it till i started actually playing the series, but its a nice touch that they play the opening lick to "I Dont Want to Set the World on Fire" at the beginning.
It's not even the beginning of this song. This is the beginning of almost all The ink spots songs that are abundant in Fallouts. The creators probably wanted to refer to this with this beginning.
@@lordmarkquad4470 smiling quite audibly changes the sound of someones voice. Perhaps if you had the capacity to make people smile when you talk to them, you'd know that

The song is great, but the game is a pile of shit and tried to suck players wallets. Really wish they would just shut it down and give us a real fallout game.
@@bennyboyyonkers4649 John Denver is just okay 😂😂 if you truly look there are plenty of better country artists. Not dissing him but like 😂😂 y’all raise people on a pedestal when others have already been there.
I still remember the first time I heard this on the radio in F76. I was walking down the road listening to the Appalachian Radio and all of the sudden this beauty starts playing. I was only a level 16 and still experiencing the beauty of this game. I mean yeah its not the best Fallout of the franchise but to me, it was the greatest. I will never forget everyone that helped me along my journey. Going from level 1 to level 566, and now I think its high time that I put my character to rest and take a good break from the game. I hope any who’s starting on Fallout 76 has a greater experience than I have. ❤️
100% exactly my experience. I was just starting out, going down the road listening to Appalachian Radio and suddenly this came on the radio. I was stunned at how beautiful it was. I retired the game at level 22 but I won't forget the first time I heard this song in game.
excuse me what the fuck It's too adapted to the game, they didn't keep the same vibe as the original :( The riffs were better in original but I guess the additional instruments make up for the voice

When your living in a great city with great sewage storage in a massive pit when all the sudden you hear country roads playing and an Irishman quietly chuckling to himself.
This is probably the biggest case of a cover that matches and perhaps even surpasses the original, and it pains me to say that because of how much love I have for the original.
Fallout 3: Where's my dad? Fallout 4: Where's my son? Fallout Horizons: Where's my genetically modified waifu? Fallout 76: we're basically the broken-ass version of New Vegas but in West Virginia.
*_ASTROLOGISTS REPORT THAT A DEVASTATING METEOR IS ABOUT TO STRIKE THE CITY, CITIZENS ARE ADVISED TO SEEK SHELTER, IF ANY IS AVAILABLE_* *giggles in Irish*
@@Duck-xq1fl I should probably get a stimpack to fix that up right? Or should I go diamond ci---oh right I'm in..WEST VIRGINIA!!!!! Not the commonwealth #Dogmeatfallout4
Robert MacCready awww really? Well I have a confession. I forgot that you were a companion. That's why I said you were my least favorite. Mabey I can try you sometime in Fallout 4.
I like how all the fallout games sort of portray a different archetype of America. For example, new Vegas is heavily inspired by westerns, and 76 has that whole "heartlands" feel to it.
Every ink spots song started with that tune as a mark for every one of their songs. It subsequently became the musical mark of the fallout games by association
@@thegamingraptor7402 nah not really. Nostalgia is blinding. Fallout 3 was literally unplayable on consoles the moment you started downloading dlc because of the ram limit. This issue was never addressed with optimization updates or anything. Fallout new Vegas then said "nah its fine we don't need to increase the ram limit. So yea they were great games but infinitely more broken just because atleast you can play 4 and 76. Nostalgia is a powerful drug
