Book Fergus just tells Claire "Madame, Milady" and she notices he's so devastated his voice is shaking. He's not Claire's biological son but he might as well be.
She is a mother figure for both, and, since Jamie officially adopted Fergus, she's his adoptive mother too. It must have been terrible to see her like that
“You are alive and you are whole.” This episode truly devastated me. Their deep love for each other and the overwhelming anger and hurt for what happened.
I almost dropped Outlander during first season because I didn’t like her acting and now I’m crying with her for the suffering of her character. She really has a great development
Can we take a second to appreciate young Ian? John bell is an absolut badass in this and you can see how his time by the Mohawk changed him. He went wild here.
I love how deeply Jamie´s voice gets when he says "kill them all" it sounds so damn strong and protective, so strong and determinated to finish who made such harm to his wife.
They treated trauma with such respect in this episode - also including the number to a helpline in the end. But seriously, young Ian became such a badass and seeing him so furious about the situation- you can feel the passion, loyalty and love for Claire through the screen!
In over sixty years of movie going, I have never seen anything so traumatic and devastatingly heart wrenching played out so realistically by an amazing cast and crew, it was so overwhelming I couldn’t watch the entire scene in full, I never have, Caitriona is a Phenomenal Actress of the highest calibre, a complete match for Sam any day, and we all know he is a magnificent force to be reckoned with throughout ‘Outlander’ a Giant ‘King of Men’ 👌
In over sixty years of movie going, there where two other similar scenes in french movie irreversible and french-italian Rocco and His Brothers. It was so painful to watch I had stop playing video and take a break. P.S Great films though highly recommended
@@johnny63ism Could you give your opinion upon Irréversible ? I am thinking about watching it, but I'm kinda scared and want to be prepared. I also want to be sure that it is worthy
I kind of object to the use of the term “beautiful” in this context at all - but I do get what you mean, and I imagine that that might be exactly how you would need someone to react, on your behalf, in such a situation
I love especially Fergus and Ian's reaction. And you can see the tiny differences in the lives that they have lived. Both are shocked and sad but Ian who lived with the Mohawks - who undoubtedly are way more upfront with settling such matters - overcame his shock a bit faster and reacted. Both were determined to get revenge for what happened to Claire and didn't hesitate but it's details like this that make a scene like that so special. And Jamie's silent fury gave me goosebumps. I've watched that episode for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I cried so much but I watch that part over and over again. All of them did amazing in that scene.
I cried heavily and nonstop during this whole scene. I can't imagine the trauma someone feels when they find themselves in Claire's place. all of them acted marvellously.
What an amazing scene. The acting of the greatest calibre. Sam when he states " Kill them all" just magnificent acting. Cat, she played that episode with heart and the ability to draw you in to the savagery. Very well done. One of the best episodes I have seen thus far.
Ian doesn't flinch one bit when Jamie orders to kill them all. While Fergus nods, Ian just goes for it. They have so much respect and love (filial love) for Claire... I can accept many character's death, but I hope these two make it. And that, as Roger said, Ian finds happiness.
I CRIED THROUGHOUT THIS EPISODE. AND I'M A LASSIE THAT DINNAE CRIED AT THE PIANIST NOR AT THE THE DEAD POETS SOCIETY. This episode conveys such a strong message and the actress's performance was extraordinary. Bravo
In the book Roger was traumatised by the reality of killing another human being. More so than in the on-screen version. Jamie almost do not count as we know there nothing he would not do for Claire. The Fraser boys are the same.
But book Claire is also very worried about Ian and Fergus. She remembers how shaken and broken they both were after having killed people, and she figures out they're no longer the children they used to be.
KUDOS to whoever in the crew chose that The Association song NEVER MY LOVE. Perfect song and lyric represents the Love bonding between the Claire and Jamie. Read the lyric and see it looks as if Jamie is saying this to Claire after that horrible incident. It looks like the song is written for Jamie. "You ask me if there'll come a time When I grow tired of you Never, my love Never, my love You wonder if this heart of mine Will lose its desire for you Never, my love Never, my love What makes you think love will end? When you know that my whole life depends On you (on you) Never, my love Never, my love You say you fear I'll change my mind I won't require you Never, my love Never, my love How can you think love will end When I've asked you to spend your whole life With me? (with me, with me)"
Claire is a strong woman but I would have preferred if these scenes didn't exist. Jamie, young ferus, Brianna and Claire twice. It's just too much to think about. Even though it's a show😢
same here 😢😔🥺 I had not been able to close my eyes for days .. Why did Claire have to get the most suffering time by brutal gang .. When Jamie asked her who and how many.. I cried again😢 And that Brown was died too easy He ‘s deserved to killed by hanging 😑
I never watched these episodes because reading it the book was enough for me. Just too much to deal with Claire going through this. She’d already been through by this point. Some time the writer is just brutal to per characters. In the book when Jamie says “Kill them all” it became my favorite Jamie moment and that says a lot.
Merci beaucoup
Every Outlander season in a nutshell - Go back in time - Cheat on your spouse - Try to prevent a massacre - Fail - Some main character gets draped - return to the present - spouse realises they got cuckolded - return to the past - main character realises they got cuckolded / that they have a surprise child. Rinse and repeat.
He assumed Claire was taken by Browns and headed to Brownsville. Was said that Claire should tell to women in Brownsville that she was Dr. Rollings. All Jamie had to do was going to their farm. Then found them on the way.
I am confused because in season 5 finale Jamie said to Ian and others when they rescued Claire after she being raped " Claire took an oath ( Doctor's Oath) so she don't kill them and i have to kill for her". BUT when Dougal McKenzie fight with Jamie Claire actually helped Jamie by pushing the knife in to Dougal's chest to kill him???🤔
She hadn't become a doctor yet. When doctors graduate the take the Ippocrates' s vow which states that they cannot deny medical help to anyone who asks for it.
