2 days deep into a rollover and everyone with a designated tune forgot what there first name is while melting into the couch in the sitting room and this gem automatically pops on and everyone's great again
First time hearing this was at Leeds fest in 2015. I went to the stage to see deadmau5, but Jamie was on a few slots before. I'll never forget the power of the bass as it hit me like a truck. I'd never felt anything like it before in my life. The whole tent just fell quiet in awe at this song, you could feel the collective energy between everyone. From that day on, In Colour became one of my favourite albums of all time.
If you're wondering, the voices are a sample of It's A Blue World by The Four Freshmen. It's a 40s/50s era song, and they were a major inspiration for Brian Wilson to learn vocal harmonies which he used for the Beach Boys. Jamie XX uses this sample brilliantly, what a gorgeous song!!
me and my friends snuck into a forest beach at night and smoked weed and layed down on the sand looking at the stars with a huge speaker and this started playing and ever since then i fell in love with this song. all i imagine is walking through the pitch black forest with my led lantern with this song.
I love these sorts of tracks by him, the deep but airy sounds, the very dosed but meaningful tones just give you a scope, creating fluctuating worlds pop up in an empty space.
I believe the reason it's so beautiful is because it was inspiring engineering aimed to help young deaf children feel the music as most of us do, the human treasure which is the sense of hearing....we all take it for granted, our ears working correctly and sounds as wonderful as these. How inspiring to have cared about the frequencies any child with a hearing impediment would also love. XX

This song makes me feel some typa way.I can't help but imagine driving around the countryside at night with this music playing and the windows down, with the people you love around you; enjoying the moment.
domjl17 If you don't mind me asking, what exactly do you get of a vinyl record that a CD recording/digital lossless file would not provide? I have my own turntable setup, along with a few vinyl records, and it's unique and I have to say I feel a difference. However, would I play 30$ instead of 10$ for a digital copy? I don't know if getting a vinyl copy of an album (especially one produced this day and age with digital playback in mind).
I had the pleasure of seeing Jamie XX and Friends at NOS Alive in Portugal this year, the highlight of my year, the best shit ever and i'll never forget it, every time i think about it, i get emotional.
