I am from jammu and i can tell you, there are many such stories here. Maybe i could be wrong but there was this road which goes to udhampur and it was haunted. An army officer died there and it was compulsory for everyone to salute his memorial there when crossing the road. The cars who didn't do it faced accidents according to locals. Edit : i also remembered that it was advised to cross the journey from that road before 7pm otherwise don't even think of covering the distance through that road after that time.
