Jamo C91 II Concert _(Z Reviews)_ Better Than RB42.. 

If only we could buy things here that aren't 3 times the price 😔 At least Jamo have reasonable prices

I mistakenly ordered a pair because I thought I was ordering the c 93ii. So I got the c91 now and let me ask you how do they sound to you and do you need a sub?

@@RobertSpiller I'm not a bass-head, so I never need a sub. I enjoy the speakers and am driving them with a Rotel RB-1050 power amp attached via DAC and preamp to my television. Even running hi-res music through them, they are pleasant sounding, especially for the money. Hopefully, they appeal to your ear as well.

What other $400 4's?

There's nothing wrong with comparing products in different price ranges. That's how you find the gems and outliers!

He said that exact thing not even 2 minutes into the video. If you only look at price how will you find out if a $200 speaker is better than a pricier one? Also he was talking about the sound of a 4in driver in general not price.

@@hang-the-93 Way too long for RU-vid comments, and my final comment not saying you're wrong. ETLDR: No. As with any quality products, "You get what you pay for." Comparing a budget class product is only good as a reference of X:Y in this case Cost:Quality, let's say scale 0-100. The Micca's Cost keeps it mapped closer to 0 and relatively high in Quality so it maps at 40:70. The Jamos at 2x the cost but better quality map @ 80:80. The best spot on the map that doesn't exist would be 0:100 a free high end 4" you obtained for free somehow. There are other speakers that would 100 for quality but at a cost.. 10:100, 90:100 so even with better or equal sound, if budget is a factor for the consumer you can't just look at the quality and say, "Yes this $100k Nissan GTR is better then this $50k Accord" No shit. /Thanos.gif; 'But at what cost?', "Everything."

I will say I compared the jamo S803 to the klipsch rp-400m and while both are a good speaker the s803 was a cleaner sound. Where the rp-400 win is in the midst but in the highs, lows, and voice the jamo s803 was more true and clearer for half the pricr.

Get an Emotiva A-100 and use software equalizers for gaming.

I have the jamo c103 (1st Gen) and they're fantastic.

Wow nice i have 4 pairs of the c103s and a few center channels also the 803s. I have not had a chance to hear the Buchardts. Could you elaborate on this ?

@@dr.dragon2284Absolutely. First off......the Buchardt S400s sound amazing......let me go ahead get that out of the way!! Mads is a WONDERFUL person and very gracious to say the least. My listening environment is basically near field. I have about 6ft from each speaker to my listening position. I LOVE loud music.....I can't help it. The Buchardts are a VERY detailed speaker and they play pretty loud however, when I pushed them as hard as I do my Jamos I was constantly popping the woofers. As far as overrall sound the Buchardts have a bit more low end and when I would walk several feet away from them they really started to open up and get even lower. But.....in my opinion.....the C103s give me about 97% of the sound quality of the Buchardts and play a bit louder......and that makes me happier. I am driving these speakers with an Emotiva XPA2 Gen 3 and an Emotiva PT-100 preamp so under powering them was not the popping woofer issue. I also have an SVS SB16 Ultra sub but for speaker testing I always leave it off. Hope this helps!! 😊

I wonder about that too. The Jamo C 91 ii in black now is $169 and with the grill on I think it looks a lot better than the Sony.

@@kraig7777 That may be true but I've been enjoying the Sony's with a Sony sub and I've got to tell you this thing sounds awesome. I use the near field system, where I can literally touch the speakers while I'm sitting down. So I'm happy right now, but next I'll build a 5.1 system.

I have the c109 towers. 1st Gen. They're amazing. Effortless is how I would describe them. The bass is so precise and immediate. And unlike a lot of subs the low and low mid sound so integral to whatever you're listening to. Whenever I hear sub setups I'm nearly always aware there's a sub. I can hear the separation. Not with these.

I have the c605's in my home theatre and good god are they good!!!

So, what are your thoughts?

@@EwClubb1 I bought the C93 II's and WOW they are sick... paired with an SVS SB1000 Pro OMFG..... suuuuuuper bright and great imaging.... although they are big for a desk...

Second this. I own several of the first gen line. They really need good power or you'll be disappointed.

Don’t have an amp but pushing 95 watts at 2 channels driven on my Denon. Avr. Anyone know if that will be enough?

I have 2 pairs of the c601 as atmos speakers in my theatre. In their previous life they lived in another room in my house and they are completely absolutely truly brilliant speakers

@@RobertSpiller I would say yes. A subwoofer really fills them out. I've also switched to a SMSL SU-9n and SMSL DA-9 to power them and it's substantially improved their sound.

You can probably ask for a discount and buy 3 Micca pairs instead of these. Do they sound three times better?

I ask him many times i bought one... a budget speaker with BIG sound. I even bought terminal banana cooper with gold and OFC speaker cable and spade connectors... and i am dream to replace the internal wiring antes the terminal XLR for 3 pairs of banana... and i don't know if i do or make a entire other speakers from the scratch... cause it is a GOOD speaker... the better in my extreme limited knowledge of sound... but i wish to make even better.

@@jakubbanasiewicz651 I had them for about 8 months now... 1-... the breaking time is something REAL... i feel the difference from the first moment to after 1 month... a huge improvement on the highs, mids and lows. 2 - This was my first hifi system so even for me was amazing learning process... the sound systems that i have before wasn't that good not eve close. 3 - None... exactly NOT EVEN ONE of my musics was sounding good in this speaker... but... i was so sad... but i didn't get the reason at the beginning... but... ALL my music library was lousy MP3 with a really BAD quality... and.. than... i start to download a few flac... but the things start to get good when i do get spotify and than REALLY good when i start to use TIDAL premium.. and i bought a DAC of Topping D10 replace my RCA cables for ones with far better quality that the ones that i have... and i bought even tube aiyima pre amp... now i really have a nice system... i feel the music a entire new way. 4 - the sound quality... this speakers tell you the truth about how the music was recorded and the mastering behind the music... if the music has no quality will appear with no disguise ... if the music have a quality in the process of production you will feel yourself stunned. -The bass was incredible... amazing completely fulfill a medium room of 20². The MIDs and the HIGHs are really good... both needing a GOOD source to REALLY shine. For me... the quality is amazing. Things to consider: He is not a near-field speaker... i use in my computer... and only when i set myself apart 2 to 3 meters that i get the best. -As start system it's amazing how good it is... even for a START system it is shocking difference between a HIFI system and ALL-in-one "ministystem". -Need NO subwoofer... the bass is monster after 45hz and up... in the music is a punch in the gut. -Sorry for my lousy english and... i am a layman on sound... just a lover passionate for the hifi world. I hope I was helpfull, because was not easy for me to find info about this speakers, a trustworthy opinion. (P.S.: The toslink have issues... when you increase the volume the sound get muffled... but... when i use the RCA it was PERFECT... NO PROBLEM AT ALL)

How much did you spend for them (they're retailing for $700/pr according to Jamo), and do you like the way they sound?

@@corkydukeII5898 i paid 449€ for them in Finland. Sound is almost perfect for my ear. Midrange gets bit behind because too loud bass.

@@samiel2222 Oh ok. I'm guessing '449' translates to about $700 in US Dollars. Glad to hear that you like them. What kind of amp/Receiver are you driving them with...about a 100 watts? (Zeos says those C91's need a decent amount of power to get 'em to sound good.......)

Corky Duke i have onkyo tx 686 atmos with 165w per channel. Svs sb 12 nsd with the low ends for smoother bass.

@@samiel2222 Haha! How funny, cuz i'm considering buying that very same Onkyo Receiver! (that is, whenever my current 12 yr old R-772 Sherwood Newcastle A/V craps out....hopefully it won't though cuz I really like it).

Because of size and performance. The RB42 come SO CLOSE

@@larryfoster423 Thanks, yes you are supposed to fill them up, typically with a denser heavier material like pea gravel, glass beads. Rice seems to do the trick then, cool to know.
