Yes they are till you get a pair of JBL LSR 305/KaliAudiuo LP6 for the same price. No fucking comparison. These "2.1" are boom boxes ... I don't even miss the woofer .. LP6s have it all.

I've had these for years. Started as my desktop speakers. Then I used them as a 2.1 system for my living room with a projector. I used extension speaker cables and did a sub crawl. That 2.1 setup was Devine. Recently upgraded to 5.1. These are now my sub and surround speakers as part of my 5.1 setup. They still are epic.

I had mine on audioengine DS1 tilted speaker stands and they worked much better than sitting flat on a desk. I was using these with the sub under the desk and it was fine. Still better than most other desktop multimedia speakers at the time I bought them a couple of years ago. They image really well for what they are. Now there seems to be more competition from other brands like Edifier

I liked M50w alot. It was great for its price, and so were Harman Kardon Soundsticks III. Both are great for starters. I wouldn't recommend them normally, but if you was thinking of AudioEngine A2, or Logitech speakers, then I'd rather recommend these 2. Can't afford neither? Swans M10 is nice too. Anyway, my M50w had the issue where the volume go up at random times. I got super paranoid every time I go take a shower, or when I'm playing something at late night. Then I went for now extincted Paradigm MilleniaOne CT, and M50w sounded like music being played through mud. MilleniaOne CT was a hidden gem for me, 11/10 would recommend if you can even get it anymore. I now have Kef LS50w + Kube 10b. Looking back I have no regret upgrading through those speakers. It was a very good experience. They were very different to each other, in design & sound wise. Would I recommend M50w though? Honestly... no.

Z, I am the owner of an Edifier T5 sub. Its biggest flaw is the auto-sleep cannot be turned off. If you would like to review one, I will send you mine... and give you full authority to crack it open and find out how to turn the damn auto-sleep off. I don't care if you break it. EDIT: Oh, you already bought it. (just saw the link before the video) Open it up and fix it anyways.

@@D4RKFiB3R Turn the volume up. Plugging in both left and right seems to make it wake at slightly lower volume. You have to maintain a certain volume in order to keep it on. You cannot use it at low volumes.

you won't have this problem if you connect your audio out to the input of the subwoofer and take the audio out from the subwoofer and connect it as input to your speakers.

That's nice and all Zeos, but did you know Edifier makes a better version of the 350s? They're called the S360DB, and they have the same tweeter as the s3000 pro and the satellites actually go down to 60hz, becasue they're ported, not sealed, so the Sub doesn't need to play 200hz tones. They do have even bigger 2.1s like the s730 but they've been in the market for quite a while and not been updated with newer drivers and tech so I do'nt think they sound as refined as the s300 series, because even the 350, uses a midrange and subwoofer driver designed for AIRPULSE speakers, and the tweter comes form the same family as the ones found on the s1000/s880 so they're not bad at all.

I own them before and it was meh. There is a frequency gap between the sub and satellite speaker. I also own this swan m50 and it is much better

I have the s350 n s360db by edifier . I would like to see a review n sound demo for the new swan m80 2.1 set up. I think the sub on the 350 is louder n tighter sounding than the 360. But 360 with bigger drivers n planar tweeters has a fuller sound . They both sound great to me . I switch between the 2. Sadly my apt sucks for any hi quality speakers to sound there best . But not bad at all for the money 👍 just miss my hi end system I have in storage . Adcom. Denon. Snell. Harmon / kardon set up . That system needs room to breath 🎶

What about the Swan M5a ? Lot of Swan speakers have been tested here but not those (with a 8" mid/bass woofer). I'm really curious about those, cause I run for years with my Creative T3 Gigaworks (yep, not really qualitative) and would like to upgrade to active speakers with great bass presence, due to my habbit to have a 2.1. I listened to Focal Aria 906 with a great amplifier but was disappointed by the lack of bass. Wayyy to flat for me. So I looked to you test of the M3a, it hyped me but...8" for the M5a (not the same price though)

I own the Edifier s350db, I bought it site unseen based solely on Zeos' review, sub is on the floor, satellites on 30" stands runs, tv, turntable, cd player. Blue ray, PS4, Roku all in to tv and out through optical to the Edifier in my living room. Fucking sounds amazing. Can't go wrong with the Edifiers. But I could see after fucking around with as many set up as Z does why he would want simple. Also the Edifier cables aren't to horrible, could be better I mean 21rst century here folks, but it works. And that's my shit

The S350DB is good, but has a bad amp with a constant peep, which comes and goes, but can be heard most of the times. They gladly fixed it though in S360DB.

I like my edifiers though. Switching to Bluetooth and connectong my phone to them is extremely useful. Can I live without that? Yes but why??? Edifiers sound pretty good for PC speakers sitting on your desk.

I was surprised that there was no comparison to the Swan M200 MKIII as I thought this was the pair of desktop speakers that you deemed most "magical". I own a set of M80W speakers. They sound absolutely awesome. There is one draw back. It seems like there’s a noise gate across the analogue aux inputs. If the input drops below a certain threshold, for example a quiet part in a movie, the sound will totally cut out. Very annoying in quiet dialogue. It takes a bit of tinkering to find the correct levels. Awesome otherwise.

So funny I had these several years ago loved how they looked bass was strong and satisfyingly but that's about it, satellites sound like htib/cheap boombox system amp went after about 3 years i hated when I threw them away though. The volume contol was nice but no headphone jack funny speaker that dont necessarily sound great you miss the most.

Zeos why not just get speaker wires and solder rca connectors onto them? Or just extend the speaker rca wire(that swan provided) at the split end with some speaker wire and electrical tape then you can just place the sub on the floor?

The sub wires are long enough for floor placement (and work just fine). Zeos just likes to have the bass punch him in the face.

Zeos. Please review the Swan / HiVi M300MKii and/or the D300. The M300MKii is a 3-way setup with a ribbon tweeter while the D300 is 2-way 6.5" (like original M300) with a ribbon tweeter. Swan pricing has the D300 at less than the M300 mk1 at only $400 while the M300mk2 seems to have a bloated price at $900. I say this price is bloated not only because the M300 MK1 is only $530 but also because the M500 (like M300MKii but 8" woofer) is also $900. They both also use BT 5.0 and more inputs.

@@jasonalec6573 🙂 not really bro. It was my fault.. I didn't dig enough... And wanted to use them as "2.1 HT speakers" No regrets they're still very good desktop speakers but should be 200USD. Even the Edifiers Sd350DBs. Kali Audio LPs is a massive upgrade from SwansM50.

I owned the Bose companion 2 for over a decade across multiple states and loved their lil footprint, sub and volume/mute/headphone/output controller thingy. They were tucked under quite a few monitors.

@@ashishrewar it's a 2.1 .. sub is kept on the floor. Although these are really good desktop speakers they are nothing as compared to a monitor like JBL 305/6 series or the Presonus ... Just no comparison. Cost is almost same. Lol.

You most likely won't comment seeing this is a rather old video but let me give it a try or maybe someone else could get back to me about the following: So, I owned the Hivi Swan m50w and I loved them. Probably the best sounding 2.1 system I owned but when I sold my computer I decided to sell it with it because this made the sale more interesting for the buyer. BUT, for some reason I can't find them anymore here in Europe and instead it was replaced with the m50wMKIII which is a bluetooth version of the original set and this changes everything as I am aware that most likely will also means the set will sound differently as well and I have to forget everything I know about it. So in my search for information I inevitably come across the Edifier S350DB / S351DB. They are bigger, so that will give challenges in placement that I will need to solve which from what I already read about them is not a sinecure because of the limited length of the cables. But ok, that fact aside, I also have no ways in demoing them and well, listening to RU-vid videos is not going to help me further. So this is my current struggle. How do they both compare to each other in terms of sound? I liked the warm, yet detailed sound of the m50w and its bass, although it could, was never overwhelming and seemed to work really well with the speakers in terms of frequencies (I usually had it set to about 10%). Also, anyone had the chance to listen to the m50w and the m50wMKIII? If so, how do they differ in sound?

Yep. Too old. Current monitors are damn good for the same price.

I am currently looking a headphone for competitive gaming. I've got my eyes on either the SHP9500s or the Cooler Master MH752. The SHP9500s is a bit more expensive excluding a mic. I don't care about closed or open, it doesn't matter. Just want great performance. Which one do u think is better? Does the open back make it really better or it doesn't matter as much compared to the CM752?

If you don't have anyone living with you and don't care about noise go for the SHP9500(If you can tune out keyboard and mouse clicks as well). You can hear better and more stuff with them. The only issue is if you like listening to bass heavy music or don't want to bother others around you go for the Cooler Master
