Although it's not a direct confirmation of a 10m target, it has been discussed/toyed with. I agree, CSJ's policies are radical, but let's be honest, his policies will never be passed through parliament. Even other oppositions wouldn't vote for it. However, he has his uses in parliament. He can offer a fiercer voice in parliament to keep the ruling party in check. That's the purpose of an opposition no? Not to pass policies, but to keep the ruling party from being complacent.

The fact that he came back and is now participating in politics says enough about his commitment to Singapore. There are people who have been in Singapore their whole lives and could still give no shits about the state of the country beyond how it affects them. In fact, with his time abroad, he has more insight on different governances and ideas that could be beneficial for the country.

And addressing the only point of any substance you gave, of course it's not as easy as just a review of the current model. But there is basis that their proposed policy would give more Singaporeans the job they desire more than the current policies. It will not work for everyone and anyone of course, no policy has a 100% success rate. But it is an improvement nonetheless.

CY T ironically it seems that the way PAP treated Raeesah ended up being the partial reason why WP won. Remember the time LKY tried to smear CST about his poor o level results before the 1984 GE? In the end CST got over 60% of the votes. While I can’t deny the fact that Raeesah made comments which were divisive, at least Raeesah apologised unlike J Teo who has little to no PR skills.

Everyone wants high salary, 5 day week jobs, standard 9am-6pm jobs, no need to work on weekends and OT, if can no need to go overseas to work, medical fully covered including dental care, 14-21 days annual leave that can bring forward, able to own at least a 4rm HDB/EC, can get good school placement for their kids nearby their house and if can own a car would be a plus. That’s what every Singaporeans wants but how can that be possible and you know it’s not. As different jobs have different requirements. Lowering costs will not help in our economy as do not forget, the whole world evolves as well. Costings is not just based locally but it’s based on the whole region we stay in. We do not have any natural resources to start with and we depend 90% on imports. Importing goods from other countries are based on the world economy as well. It’s not just some simple calculation where you bring the cost down means you will have a better quality life. It’s not that simple. Pay less and earn more. Who don’t want that.

During 7% GST, clients will force you to absorb by discounting on contract price, lower your profit. Contract sums and price continue to face tsunami as local and foreign companies compete for projects and contracts. As labour and material cost continue to constant raise, we have no ways to raise wages as SMEs need reserves to stay afloat. 9% GST , better close shop...

Talk is cheap. If you want you can shift to Sengkang and vote there the next election. Why risk our town council being mismanage? Residents that are not living in Sengkang should stfu and not decide for them. Sk residents want a strong town council not to be heroes for people living out of sk. Before you ask them to vote make sure you vote your own area opposition in first idiots

Everyone was starstruck!
