Thank you so much. That was helpful. I have Bryces In it's second leaf and your Jan's in its first leaf. Last year I let Bryces go. It became a 6' tall whip. I cut it back pretty low and now I have four scaffolds exactly like yours. I had just guessed, but now that I see what you are doing I feel much better about its shape.
When my tree is in its first season and only a stick with no side branches I cut it about knee high and that will make it branch into about 4 side branches
It needs lots more chill than we get here so it has a hard time waking and it rarely fruits BUT this year we have gotten probably 3 times as much as normal so I’m excited to see what fruits this year❤
Thanks for the video. I'm in North Florida and I was looking for a dwarf everbear and wondered if you had a recommendation for one with long fruit and which fruits in April. I was thinking about doing espalier since I might get rid of my blackberries I can use the existing trellises. I bought one from Lowe's it's 3 years old and the fruits about an inch.
Gerardi is the only true dwarf that I know of. Jans best, Maui and worlds best ask Thai dwarf can get 15-20’ if you don’t prune it but can easily be kept 6-8’ with pruning and they will fruit again too after pruning.
