Translation(though no one ask for): "Students, families, friends, and distinct guests. A merry ceremony to the universal school of Americas, class 2012. If it weren't for your support, this wouldn't be possible. Thank you." :D
I appreciated her effort to speak filipino language. What made me sad after watching this video? That many filipino people who went abroad to work and live had forgotten to value their own native language. They were not able to teach their children to speak proper filipino language. That manifested on this video.
One day me and my friend were in store in San Francisco were in line to pay our stuff to the cashier and there was one Filipina girl ahead of us my friend ask the lady about pinakbet then she said she don't know it anymore she forgot the pinakbet that's true its really sad I just look at her like WHAT ?
Sad but true they teach there kids English instead of speaking Filipino because they think they won't be able to speak English and its wrong they are in America most of the people around speak English.
Even if their parents teach them Tagalog, their friends, classmates, and neighbors will still speak in English. You acquire a language by being exposed to it. Your parents acting as teachers alone can't make you reach fluency. Lol.
What is the "Value of diversity"? Diversity is an obstacle that must be overcome. Unilingual unicultural teams perform better than multicultural ones. Why do you just parrot this line? Tell me what the value is.
I have Chinese descent and hearing that girl speaking Mandarin fluently as she was saying the class year was 2012 (the year before I graduated) gave me a HUGE SMILE in my face as I always adore the Mandarin language! 😇👲🍊 I had a feeling most of the students cheered for the girl speaking Spanish as they must be in a mostly Hispanic school as I know by experience since most students at my high school were Hispanic as they were part of the 80% and a handful couldn't understand English well whenever I spoken to them lol. Also, I just created a Pilipino Flag this morning just for fun as I have it hung up on my wall inside my house and immediately SMILED hearing a student speaking Tagalog (Filipino) as I always dreamt of being a native speaker myself! 😀
Bravo! Di siya trying hard haha!!! Very good. Good job ka ate diyan..
✌🏼😅🇵🇭 The word "suporta" in Filipino and in most of the other languages and dialects of the Philippines is from the Spanish word "soporta" and not from the Portuguese word "suporte". English: support Filipino: suporta, tulong, tangkilik, sammaked, sulay, apoyo, kalinga, tangkakal, etc. Tagalog and Sinaunang Tagalog: suporta, tulong, tangkilik, sugi, kalinga, tangkakal, etc. Spanish: apoyo, soporta, etc. Portuguese: apoio, suporte, etc.
We have a lot of Spanish loanwords in our Languages than Portuguese but i think chavacano language (spanish creole) has some Portuguese loanwords as well?
(He who knows not to love his own language, is worse than beasts and putrid fish.) -Jose Rizal
And you seriously quote this stupid sentence as if this is something smart or meaningful? Sounds like some facist-patriotic propaganda meant to accuse people of treason or something.
@@lacyalvior7974 The source is an article from Ambeth Ocampo entitled "Did young Rizal write poem for children?" And yeah, it can be Googled. I posted the link here before but I dont understand why it keeps getting deleted.
THE GUY THAT SPOKE MANDARIN THOUGH😭😭 WHY WAS IT LIKE THAT Hindi mahusay ang kanyang pagsasalita pero konting pagaaral kung paano ibigkas ang mga salita tapos, tapos na siya. 3.5/10
Sasabihin niyong: nag-comment pa ka, ‘no?
The words used in the script was too deep. She said angkan, which literally means clan, when she could say pamilya (family). For distinct guests, she can say mga panauhin. By the way, she did great. There was just some nuances due to the accent.
@@pluviocore Haha, I’m Chinese Cantonese myself and literally I had to strain my ears to try and hear what she was saying, only word I caught was “2012” and some other words that I forgot. Her pronunciation was wayyy off, because anybody who knows how to speak a flicker of Mandarin knows that tones are very important in order to speak.
Many FIlipinos forgot their language once they set foot on western land. There is a tube at the airport where Filipinos chose to pass through it. It's called "REAL QUICK LANGUAGE CONVERTER" where the subject forgot their native language once they get out and began speaking the host language with it's local ACCENT either it's HOLLYWOOD or BRITS. LoL:)
as a filipino who almost forgot my language when we start to learn how to speak english more we also start losing memory on how to actually speak our native language (althought you wouldnt still forget them if you literally keep saying filipino and english at the same time)
You're irrational, they're surrounded by English speaking people of course that's given. it's not like it makes them any less filipino....stop being so insensitive
the blonde girl speaks spanish with no english accent at all. I wonder if she's a native speaker or a student 🤔 if she studied it, she's got my respect.
I clearly understand her Tagalog It was really good 👏👏👏👏👏..whats the problem with that??She can speak Filipino Language Good ❤❤❤,maybe some other people who judge on this girl is just didn't clean their ears that's why they can't understand..But she can speak Tagalog good I sware ...
No. Tagalog is an austronesian/malay language, filipino has loanwords, doesnt mean its similar to english or spanish. And to the reply, our native culture still very much is alive today, stop being ignorant thinking we fed off the spanish culture completely when we definitely set ourselves apart from other spain colonized countries respect to elders, treating women equally, and the large lgbtq presence?? (present in thailand) our culture and language did not DERIVE from them, we've had them pre colonial times.. in fact pre colonial ph has a richer and more beautiful culture than post colonial and many filipinos fail to acknowledge that.
These proud Filipinos in the comment talking about how she forgot how to speak her mother language. Of course she will!!!! She's living in a country where barely anyone speaks TAGALOG, with English speakers and different races. I am a Tagalog Filipino but I know that there are ilocanos and bisaya in the states too. Tagalog isn't the only language in the Philippines, yes it is needed for us to understand each other here but we shouldn't force it on a fil-Am.
She did really well. If you go to BGC, or even Manila, middle class Filipinos are conyo lol. They have that gay guy accent, even the girls have it so please shut up "How much po kaya yung pair ng shorts?" "We need to go na. Kanina pa sila nagwawait there." "I've heard na that Starbucks daw there in that kanto is closing na daw." Can you here your manileño friend while reading? XD
Is the first one is speaking in mandarin? If she is, I could understand but the pronunciations are wayyy off. Good job tho! I only understood where she said the year 2012, but I couldn't understand the rest hahaha. Unless it isn't in mandarin then I apologise
English is the most common language in the world obviously everybody would speak english if they're filipinos, so many filipinos in this comment section want their language to grt attention fcs
Hala ang galing nya mag Tagalog Filipino ba sya kasi Filipino din ako(Wow she’s so good at speaking Tagalog is she a Filipino because I am a Flipino as well)
