Don't forget that Lisbon had to "parent" her 3 brothers due to her dysfunctional family so she's used to bossing the boys around. Its something Jane knows and i think secretly enjoys when she does it to him. 😊
The more I rewatch scenes like this, the less Jane's childish moments seem born of simple immaturity, or part of an act to find a killer, and the more they begin to look like the behavior of a man with a fetish for getting scolded by his friend. It's the fastest, easiest way for him to get Lisbon to pay attention to him, and he does it constantly. The indulgence wasn't the candy bar, it was angry little Lisbon unwittingly displaying ownership of him in front of their peers.

OMGGGG he has mommy issues and looooves a dominant woman... i relate i would be putty in her hands to be scolded by her. but it's so undeniably true! like especially in this scene, as he knows his attempts to anger this man are fruitless to any kind of 'plan'. it's exemplified in his explanation of 'he irks me.' when he's truly doing something with a plan, he's hiding it well because he doesn't want to do anything that would actually result in harming her job. also makes sense with his upbringing, he had no mom and his dad was always scolding him for having feelings and pushing him to mess with people-her trying to make him feel and reigning in chaotic behavior is a security he never had. he never had anyone caring enough about him to reign in his behavior, but to exploit that chaotic behavior like he was show cattle.

He just doesn't care. After he went through what he did in his past, games like politics and brown nosing must seem irritatingly pointless and beneath him.
