Jane Campion (virtually) accepts the Art Directors Guild Cinematic Imagery Award at the 2022 ADG Awards. Benedict Cumberbatch, star of her new film "The Power of the Dog," presents her with the award and accepts the award on her behalf.
With The Power of the Dog, her production designer Grant Major had to substitute 1925 Montana with the New Zealand countryside. They used coconut spray to make the grass more yellow.
Jane Campion has been fortunate to collaborate with amazing production designers throughout her career, including Grant Major, Andrew McAlpine, Janet Patterson, David Brisbin, Fiona Crombie, and Annie Beauchamp on films including "Top of the Lake," "Bright Star," "In the Cut," "Holy Smoke," "The Portrait of a Lady," "The Piano," "An Angel at My Table," and "Sweetie."
