Is it just me who thinks about which one of St John or Rochester I would rather spend my wedding night with if I were Jane? Rochester would be a lot more fun! 😂

They make it abundantly clear that St. John proposes to Jane knowing that she’s his FIRST COUSIN! Even back then there were publishers warning young women against cousin marriage.

Ok, this is going to sound crazy, but did I just see a group of ghosts beginning around 14:37? Look at the top of the hill behind Jane, just past the left edge of her bonnet. There are dark, transparent human- looking figures moving at unnatural speed that group in that spot, then just melt away into thin air. I kept returning to that spot in the video and watched it over and over, trying to figure out what I'm seeing, but it's really weird. The film is running at normal speed, but it's like whatever those figures are are going at fast-motion.

I came just for that reading of the Bible, wonderful scene.
